  Unmarked caravans still seem to push south with food products, although not as frequently now. Maybe the food shortage is hitting harder in the city and not much is left to sell, or maybe the merchants are just cautious about a huge army to get through and are holding some back.

  _With the recent announcement and hiring of independent traders to get supplies to the city, the first Defender paid expedition left the city a few days back. The Black Sails ship Tinieblas set out with a crew of adventurers, amongst them was Pavel, Sabre, Taria, Grag, Rhyndar, Mark, Terrico, Sald, Mareann, Sugg, Delinus and Nako, a Defender advisor accompanying them. A tenday later, the Tinieblas floats back into the docks, battered and beaten, burn marks all over and small chunks of the deck missing, making it apparent the trip was an eventful one, yet all hands seemed to make it back in one piece. The ship itself was taken off to the Defender repair yards to be repaired while the crew got their pay and the admiration of another of Peltarch's fine Officers. Coming off the ship with the crew seemed to be a merchant who deals in healing potions and has set up shop in the docks district for the time being as well as a group of mercenaries, led by General Grag of the Legion. Eleven huge orcs, eight large lizardmen fighters and two kobolds escorted the General through the city with Defenders in tow and out to the south. The Defender advisor was seen in the Mermaid not to long after making port, taking a well deserved break, the stories that come from him speak of a destroyed ship, bodies floating in the water as the ship burnt and finally hissed into the icy depths of the lake, the raiders having just missed them. A waterspout of massive size battering the ship as well as a storm of such ferocity, it pounded the ship with lightning over fifty times, the brave crew fighting off fires to keep her afloat. He speaks highly of all the crew, especially the Black Sails and the how they fought through everything the lake could offer to get the city its much needed supplies and handled their vessel unlike anything he's ever seen before. Needless to say, more than a few drinks are bought for the brave crew when they frequent the taverns. Even a few days later after the Greedy Privateer returned from a trip north to a village along the coast with bandages, salves and herbs for healing, the people in Peltarch seem in better spirits with only a few shipments getting through and the Defenders are promising more with such brave crews to see it done._

  The young students of the college are all aflutter with news that the man the bust was carved to represent is back. Many are comparing the carving to the man. Speculation on why he is back run rampant. One woman suggests he is going to be her husband while another states that all males from the college drink the water there and are clearly gay. Speculation and rumor aside, many seem glad to see an old friend returned.

  The red headed bard who used to bring treats and food for the denizen of the tent village is seen there again. Now instead she seems to be recruiting for what she sometimes calls the back up navy or the auxiliary fleet. Peltarch may starve in the coming months if we do not increase the food coming in. You may say, "we have already been starving." This will effect you and your children most keenly. You are the ones who will go without first. Without a surplus the good people that have attempted to help alleviate your burdens will not be able to. I offer you a solution. The Black Sails trading company is in need of people to help make the runs for food. You will eat. You will have a place to sleep. You will have a chance to visit harm to those who make your lives miserable. These raiders that have hampered our food shipments. The ones who rain snow, ice and sleet on us. It is not without risk, but ask yourselves would you rather go down fighting or weak from hunger in a cold bed? She tells those interested in helping to feed the city to find Pavel sometimes known as Tsu Ma

  After the inital drop of pamphlets had been picked up by citizens and (mostly) guards, no more are to be seen, leaving no trace behind of who did it and why.

  Bards are found in every tavern in the city in the days leading up to, and after, the fall of Jiyyd. An unnamed benefactor has seemed to supplied them with gold or at least a large tab allowance, for they routinely are buying drinks for those that come and listen. They tell the tales of bravery of the stout men and women standing at the lines in Jiyyd. The bards speak of the debt those in Jiyyd have paid in hopes that the greater region of Narfell may have a chance. Their heroics of the day is oft repeated, and within a few days even when the bards are not spinning their tales the war and Narfell's defenders are on the lips of the common folk. The feeling that war is coming still hangs upon the air, but the stand in Jiyyd seems to have given many hope.
