  Blackguards Divine RP expectations As with all Divine spellcasters you are required to properly roleplay your faith. With regards to Blackguards this will involve not only praying for spells but also actively pushing your deities Dogma. It may not necessarily mean trying to convert people to your faith or going out of your way to smite every good person you encounter, but it will mean that if your deity has enemies you should not be taking any action that will benefit that person, and in fact do whatever you can to hinder them. Ideally you would destroy enemies of the faith but our PvP rules make this difficult and tedious, of course when it comes to NPC's you are free to smite them to your hearts content. Blackguard Spells RP Summon Monster Spells in Narfell allow you to deviate one alignment step either way however all Blackguard summons are required to be chosen from the Evil alignment selections. You should learn the spells you plan to use and then determine how they are supposed to be used in PnP and then roleplay them to the best of your ability, for example, Demonflesh in game looks like barkskin but you should RP that your skin has taken on the hue and leatheriness of a Demon. For a reference to those spells check out https://dndtools.net/spells For the sake of simplicity, if the spell has a duration but no lasting visual effect in game assume there is no visual. On casting however any visual effect and result of the spell should be properly roleplayed. All changes must be very minimal. Meaning a couple feats and a couple skills as well as moving ability points into wisdom. No race or languages changes. Class changes will not be allowed so your starting classes and levels must match your ending classes and levels. Feel free to contact DM Metagod (or any DM if metagod is not available) to get your rebuild started A few things to keep in mind. You must still submit a rebuild request following the normal rebuild template. Be sure to have your new pc already made and ready to go leveled to 4 and waiting in the new player lobby.

  The rule of "20 point items to chars of level 16 or over, rest are restricted to 15 point items" has been removed, as it was felt it was an unnecessary complication of rules that lead to OOC clunkiness and situations where players had to count point limits based on their level. The initial post has been updated to reflect this.

  It's been more than 15 years since I last set my feet in Narfell. Never had I imagined that this wonderful world would still be alive. Of all my experiences with this digital world we live in, Narfell was absolutely the greatest. I am touched by the fact that my humble post was pinned. Though I'm heartbroken to learn that GM Hightower is no longer with us. -"I don't mean to sound bitter, cold or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out." - Hopefully, I have earned my citizen token by now. - I hope to be joining you once again, soon.   As the Player Lead (Hi, to those of you who don't know me!) I'm going to chime in here. Please keep in mind, that the statements made by the DM Team are referencing something that has -ALWAYS BEEN THE CASE-. When high levels are around, high level threats MAY arrive. With that in mind, please keep the following in mind as well. Narfell is a persistent world. It's meant to feel "Alive". That means that whenever DMs can, they're going to put in things that are not 'normal'. This is what makes a world feel more real, so it doesn't end up feeling like "Wow", where you know what's going to be where, every time, without fail, no surprises. In regards to shepherding low levels around, this has ALSO always been a thing, but the idea is to be roleplaying, here. Not simply grinding for loots, or doing all the work for them. Shepherding means taking care of. Watch them, coach them, explain the stories that you've seen in the areas you're showing them, take on a threat or two to hammer home the point of WHY YOU DON'T GO OUT ALONE, perhaps! Premium level Narfell lore, right there, ripe for the picking. As the DMs said, the -best- case scenario here, is to log in a lower level character. If you only have high levels, stay back. Announce it IC that you'll be doing that, and walk, talk, and be a part of the story in an IC fashion. If things get hairy, yeah, step in, and RP what's happening. I highly recommend remembering one more important note, especially around new players. You don't always win! That doesn't mean that anybody is out to TPK your party. That means sometimes, the signs that the DMs show that there's a significant threat ahead, are not meant to be won easily. They MIGHT even be things you're expected to RUN from, because your INT is higher than 10. If it's not, then you have an excuse for continuing forward, perhaps . Long story short, please note that the DM's posts here are to help YOU, the players. This is not a new rule, it's a reiteration of expectations.
