Public Notice Placed in the Crafting Hall by the Masters

  • Captain Talgrath hears about all of this, and has his secretary pass this statement on to both Officer Strauss and the Dolvaks:

    "Both Officer Strauss and certain private citizens of Peltarch will cease this public display immediately. I will not have my men threatened and I will not have my men tossing around insults like this. If this continues, Officer Strauss will be charged under military law and I will have those who have threatened my officer charged as well. Grow up, all of you; this is a matter of law and politics, plead your cases through the law and the senate like adults."

  • Zyphlin happens to see the box, and slips a "No" into it

    Just what we need, the Crafter Mob taking over peltarch property. It'll be open just long enough to make people think they got it fair, and then the "persuation" techniques will start up.

  • Dwin scratches his chin

    If they are independent crafters… and not even residents here... what do we care, then? And why do they have a voice in Peltarch politics anyway?

    Dwin nods to Moe and tosses him an ale

    Some folks just like to hear 'emselves talk, I guess.

  • moe hops out of well used wheel barrow, leaving his ale cache in it for Dwin to utilize at hsi discretion

    "hmmm, think they are daft? We are offering to rebuild, restock, replace, everything in these halls, out of our pockets so that they can have better facilities and they be complaining like little girls. But notice it is only the independent crafters who are not citizens of Peltarch who complain. Yet I bet they only come up here to use these halls and nothing else, if these halls were not here in Peltarch they would never come to the Jewel ever. Sounds a bit like abusing Peltarchs hospitality to me." shrugs "Even then, I'd still say if they become citizens I would be the first to welcome them to the new and improved Peltarch crafting halls."

  • ((rando has the patent on all such looks, I think 🙂 ))

  • (just for a point it was a Rando 'look' and in no way a verbal insult 🙂 )

  • //hehe edited for tiredness//.

  • Rando now realising that the follower of Gond has now over stepped the mark by insulting a personal friend of Rando looks to Dentin in a certain way that could be seen as.. carry on in your insults and you will be dealing with me… personally

  • ::mutters:: Like Mog was saying….

    The Masters of the Hall post a copy written from the original by the help of a scribe.

    @0e519f0994=Dwin:

    The contract for sale will include the following proposed articles:

    I. Perpetuity of Vanity Plates Business
    Upon receiving ownership of the Hall, the Union will retain and be responsible for all existing employees of both the Hall and the "Vanity Plates" service. All such employees will now be considered employees of the Union.

    The "Vanity Plates" business shall remain on the property, and will be accessible to any and all customers. No changes, other than standard day-to-day changes, are planned for 'Vanity Plates.' it will be up to the Union's discretion to review and continue the employment of all those mentioned.

    Necessary changes will be made to allow all customers access to Vanity Plates, regardless of citizenship.

    II. Access
    a.The Property, like all privately owned property in Peltarch, will be considered "private", but will be open at all times to all Peltarch citizens and Union Members.

    b. The existing equipment, and general access, shall be preserved for all Peltarch citizens, indefinitely. The Union will review this provision, if necessary, on an annual basis with representatives of the Peltarch Senate and the Peltarch Magistrates' office.
    Any changes to this provision will require the Union to give at least (1) month's public notice.

    c. Citizens may be asked to provide documentation to prove their Peltarch citizenship upon entering .

    d. Union members shall likewise be given access to any other crafting halls in the city, should they be built in the future. The Union shall be given first opportunity and a favored statues to purchase/build future halls.

    III. Rights to Improve
    The Union shall hold all rights to add additional equipment, rooms, floors and access to the existing hall. Any new equipment added shall be considered "new" and not necessarily covered under section II above (Access).

  • Dwin ponders the question a moment, and finally responds.

    Aye, of course. We got nuthin to hide, despite what the whinin-lad here says.

    _nods towards Dentin_If any of ya aint good with yer words, let me know and I would be happy to read it to ya…

    The masters ask whether their prospective purchasers, subject to the will of the senate would object if a full copy of the proposed contracts terms were posted for public display?

    The parts about the open access and such perhaps…gentlemen and dwarfs? says the archery master..

    .. One of the masters looks a bit foolish for a moment, and says "I got all that business about citizen papers mixed up" and the vanity plates owners say "oh yes indeed sir.. that you did, i would say"

  • @909f1c7e30:

    I may as well state you are a waste of perfectly good dwarf. Calling those not in the Union incompetent shows a lack of character on your part.

    Lad, I been bitin' me cheek all day while ya sputter out yer useless, sometimes humorous opinions. Now I got a hole in me cheek and I've heard enough.

    Yer gettin a bit personal with someone that could rip yer arms off and use em as toothpicks.

    wide grin as he nods towards Foilir.

    I suggest ya curb yer tongue a bit, laddy. As fer yer allegations of "threats and harrassment," ya best be ready to explain what the fark you are talkin about. Comments like that come with a large responsibility… I am sick o hearin these empty accusations. Act like a man and personally tell me what you are sayin instead o hidin behind this here public forum. Otherwise, you and yer skirt can head o'er to the Bard College.. Maybe they will let ya put yer Gond statue in their lobby.

    And, aye, fer the record... The re-opened Grand Peltarch Hall will be open fer ALL Peltarch citizens, with all new equipment...and more of it. No more waitin fer hours on end while someone else is using that old uneven anvil.

    If ya use the hall, and ya ain't a citizen.... why not move here? Tis a wonderful place to live if you can stand the noise. glances at Strauss and grins.

    If ya dont want to move here, come talk to me… I am sure we can work something out. The union dont prosper by keepin their membership small.

    As fer Custom Plates.... we ain't idiots! The plan is to keep the store open to EVERYONE, Peltarch citizens or not... The idea is for the shop to make COIN, after all. Why the fark would we close it and make it exclusive to just Peltarch citizens? People travel from vast distances fer that place... while they are in town, lets get em to spend even more coin in our other prosperous businesses!

    I know alot o you independent crafters got problems with the Union on account of us ownin the market fer so long. Once the deal here goes through, we will be havin an open-enrollment fer all new apprentices. I encourage ya all to come take a look. Learnin a craft in a state-o-the-art hall like we are plannin' is a dream come true fer all folks, not just the Gondites! grin

    Now, if there's any more whinin' about this… lets hear it... who wants an ale?

    Dwin opens ales from several crates that Moe brought in a well-used wheelbarrow, and starts passing them out to anyone that wants them, tossing one to Foilir first.

  • Rando looks around with amusement with the so called crafter god follower talking complete rubbish

  • @2ec3dffe4d=Herrold:

    "yeh is all out of yeh minds… Dis Gond feller nae done shite as far as me is concerned wit deh halls... "

    "..unless he sweepin dem when deh hours be done... "

    I do, actually. I also gather hides, treat any injuries that may have happened, escort independent crafters, aid in repairing and maintaining the equipment. If you would have spent any time at all in the hall, you would know this.

    @2ec3dffe4d=Herrold:

    "..matter of fact.. none of yeh independent crafters nae dun much fer dis hall…. Do yeh pay taxes?

    Do you?

    @2ec3dffe4d=Herrold:

    Yeh bother to clean deh anvil after yeh is done?

    I remind crafters of it whenever I see them forgetting it. I clean the anvil if I find it in a used state.

    @2ec3dffe4d=Herrold:

    Toss yeh trash?

    The trash is always full and the floor is always empty. I believe people are generally aware of proper usage of the hall.

    @2ec3dffe4d=Herrold:

    Er do yeh run in anna run out after yeh is finished wit yeh ruinin of perfectly gud ore?"

    An innapropriate remark. I may as well state you are a waste of perfectly good dwarf. Calling those not in the Union incompetent shows a lack of character on your part.

    @2ec3dffe4d=Herrold:

    "…Fact eer is... yeh nae dun much fer dese halls... Matter of fact, dey look like a few craftin wares tossed aside in a warehouse.. To deh dismay of deh masters who keep em.. Neglected by yeh independents, yeh Gonadians, anna yeh free crafters..."

    Allow me to make a full study of the Union-owned facilities and I will compare them to the, as you state "level of neglect" of the Peltarch Hall.

    @2ec3dffe4d=Herrold:

    "Nae surprised deh masters eer, are nae against other craftin masters helpin dem wit der business.."

    Your offer states that the halls will be kept open. It does not state for how long. In a similar way, it states that the current Masters will remain employed, yet does not state a duration.

  • gets with Mariston to settle any grievances

    • Mariston sends a list of his concerns as stated to Mog*

  • Deacon drops a card in the "no" box. You could assume that many of his people follow him.

    • Just looks at the red faced upset masses and chuckles to himself *

    "yeh is all out of yeh minds… Dis Gond feller nae done shite as far as me is concerned wit deh halls... "

    *looks over at Strauss *

    "..unless he sweepin dem when deh hours be done... "

    • adjusts his plate *

    "..matter of fact.. none of yeh independent crafters nae dun much fer dis hall.... Do yeh pay taxes? Yeh bother to clean deh anvil after yeh is done? Toss yeh trash? Er do yeh run in anna run out after yeh is finished wit yeh ruinin of perfectly gud ore?"

    • pulls on his gauntlets *

    "...Fact eer is... yeh nae dun much fer dese halls... Matter of fact, dey look like a few craftin wares tossed aside in a warehouse.. To deh dismay of deh masters who keep em.. Neglected by yeh independents, yeh Gonadians, anna yeh free crafters..."

    • chuckles as he walks out *

    "Nae surprised deh masters eer, are nae against other craftin masters helpin dem wit der business.."

    • nods to them all and then notices an ingot by Strauss *

    "..well it nae round, but gud start der on a sling bullet.."

  • This bad for trade, as simple as that. This effectively prevents everyone who is not a citizen or Peltarch, member of the Union, or one of those rare few who have access to another crafting area from doing any crafting at all. And how should this help trade? This is nothing more than an attempt to create a complete monopoly over crafting in the whole area of Narfell, and I will not stand idly by. Will the citizens of Peltarch, and those they chose to represent them, let this happen? I pray to Sune that you will not. Do I ban members of the Union or citizens of Peltarch from entering the art competition? I do not. And I see no reason why they should be able to do such a thing. They have taken over the crafting halls in the other towns. They have intimidated, beaten up and downright murdered rivals, people who wanted to mine in areas that no one has a right to own. People who did not abide by the prices they set. People who asked too many questions. I know that many of the members of the Union have nothing to do with this. Yet at the same time, they count Rando as one of their own! I beg of you, wise citizens and senators, not to let them own this crafting hall. In my humble opinion, it would be a grave mistake

    May Sune's love be with you all,
    Belade Galadon, paladin of Sune,
    holder of a Peltarch Trading Permit
