Jiyyd Rumors
-
Rumor spreads (from various characters with lavender eyes) that a member of the Black Hand has come into town claming that he has turned from his ways. He now wanders freely among decent townsfolk.
Mr. Dolvak has come under harsh criticism by those who would blindly accept this man's story at face value, but still his first thought is to the welfare of the people of Jiyyd, and he has determined to have a word with this man himself to ensure that he does not become a threat to us and our children.
If not for good folks like Mr. Dolvak, Jiyyd's poor excuse for a council would let known killers wander about unchecked.
-
Three members of the Black Sails were recently seen chasing one of their own, a dwarven priestess of Umberlee, all the way from Jiyyd and out into the Nars Pass. It would appear the priestess had taken something from one of the others and refusing to return it. All four returned after a while, bloodied and bruised but in good spirits apart from the occasional curse and grumble from the dwarf.

_Upon hearing the rumor, Shane goes to offer her last greetings to the fallen brother. After that, she is seen heading towards the temple of Helm with a blank expression, shutting the door behind.
Soon after, rumor spreads that she has asked acolytes to find her any written text or any word on the dark lord's religion that can be found within the region. Visitors coming to the temple can find her, when not out on patrol scouting for Orc intrusions, or other matters concerning her, engaged attentively over old and dusky tomes until the deep of night. One acolyte is overheard stating that such deep immersement in unholy lectures can not be good for one's own sanity, looking troubled._

It is said that there was a fair and honest duel between a Banite wizard and a paladin at the crossroads. The paladin died, while the Banite remained nearly unscathed.
-
_With all the rumors of dissaperances, another report comes in. One of the guards saw a man with shaggy blonde hair going into the swamp. The guard also mentions the man is a "tree humper." The man never returned.
The guard believes the orcs may have snuck into the swamp and captured him, but evidence is lacking._

Concerned citizens with lavender eyes speak of the body and the note.
An old man deep in his drinks, with dirty overalls and a bushy mustache remarks that this mess is gonna get sorted right proper, and just you wait and see if Mr. Dolvak don't tell folks precisely what's to be done about the situation and then go out and do it. Not like them council members, all holed up and not doin' jack-diddlee.
A young human boy plays with the other children, carrying a wooden toy axe, speaking with a thick and overdone accent.
"Ye farkin' orcs! Mah name is Dwin Dolvak, an ahs gonna teach ya right proper what come o' messin with this town!"
A demur young elven lady speaks of how she saw Dwin working on repairing the damage with his own two hands, and he turned and smiled at her, setting her heart all aflutter.
-
A rumour surfaces that orcs were seen amongst the farms to the east of Jiyyd, screams followed and the orcs were later seen heading into the woods carrying two struggling figures, both female.
-
A body is found near the Jiyyd gates
a note written in scratchy messy Orcish is shoved into the dead woman's mouthThe note reads:
Better hurry before we's run out of hostages!
-
Juster is sometimes seen walking around the wall and keeping a close eye on the gates and surrounding areas. Other times he willingly helps any around who he can. While not good at building or moving large objects, he is willing to help with any other job he can.
-
When asked about things the general's repsonse is simple… "I have bedra things ta do then listen ta this shite. They can tear apart our buildings but can nae take away our morale an spirit! Tyr's swift justice is coming and coming soon..." lifts some more Wood and hauls them over to different buildings needed as the repair crews continue work

@11e6607c7f=Panache:
And every once in a while it is a young hothead who speaks in a hushed voice to those who have lost and who stand to lose, suggesting that it is time for change in Jiyyd, and that the council is no longer fit to govern. It is clear that things have been better since Dwin has taken charge, and if the Council cannot accept that, its is the responsibility of each of us to make them accept it.
Genzir, amused that orcs are trying to appeal to our sympathies for the few witches that happen to be standing guard on the plains along with the dozens of male rumblers, responds: Sure. Or maybe the orcs would make good councilmembers. In fact, why don't you go over there and ask them? I bet they show great hospitality.
-
Stands awestruck that apparently Jiyydians somehow got afflicted with Orc proganda that Legion members do nothing but "cull the women and children of orcs" to now believe that they're "tired of it"
-
Rumors spread that Penny was seen walking south toward Sam's Hill from Peltarch with a paintbrush in one hand, a bucket of paint in the other, and a smile on her face, all while singing a happy tune about days gone by.
-
Dentin refrains from making open statements or speeches, having learned from the past, instead devoting himself to aiding wherever and however he can. From bringing supplies from the other towns, to aiding in sheltering the homeless survivors, to tending to the wounded, before turning to work with the town's people as they clean up the remains of what was destroyed, and as they set to rebuilding the town, he uses what knowledge of construction he has to make sure the new buildings will be stronger than ever, providing guidance and organisation, as well as straight-forward labour, to ensure that the rebuilding proceeds swiftly.

Rumours spread, harshly criticizing the council's ineffectiveness in a crisis.
Sometimes a poor farmer with a grizzled beard can be heard grumbling about how "none o' the council need worry for their women, all locked up safe and sound as they are. No siree, not thier problem."
Other times a well-to-do merchant will be praising Dwin for his swift action in giving aid to the town, and saying that if not for his timely leadership, it would have been a lot worse.
Sometimes it is a heartbroken mother, crying for her lost daughter, who had been taken by the orcs. She is heard to say that Nothing like this ever happened in Norwick, Mister Dolvak made sure of that…

Only the very very observant would notice that each of these malcontents had the same lavender eyes, sparkling with mischief. And even then, only if they happened to encounter more than one of them and see their eyes.

Mariston seeks a more unified answer from the council preferably Lens
Meanwhile a dwarven cleric of Marthammer Duin guides the injured to the dwarven temple where he tirelessly aids in the healing. He also offers what space is availible to house those without accomidation
"Farking orcish wankers, yis whit wan's kin stay here awhile un'ill yer homes is fixed up an a' tha'"
-
Right after the attack, as Tolin emerges from the legion hall, he immediately starts putting out fires with massivve ice spels and destroying what pikes the orcs left, taking the dead bodies from them and leaving them at vroka's
((sorry i didnt post earlier it was 4 or 5 AM here when the event was over didnt feel like posting it then))
-
Speaking for the Council, Dwin thanks him and says that everything has been secured and that Norwick has already responded to the crisis. Homeless Jiyydians are welome to relocate to Norwick temporarily.
Thanks-very-much, though.
[EDIT by Herrold: The council is fine and the orcs did not get that high up on the hill. They stayed close to the west gate, burned some houses and piked some commoners and ran off with some women.
the COUNCIL did not suffer any casualties]]
((edit by Dwin… Never did I claim that anyone on the Council actually died. Dwin half-heartedly looked for any member and when he didnt see them he started shouting out orders, assuming he was in charge. Perhaps as soon as a council member shows his face or stops hiding under a bed, Dwin will relinquish control.))

Healers and knights of The Order move through the town aiding as best they can. Healing and cleansing wounds, their words spoken ensuring that despair does not over the town.
Mariston speaks to the council asking if there is ought that Peltarch can do to aid in this time of need. What supplies are needed and in what numbers? Would the town wish any defenders to aid in securing their borders ?

_Dwin exits the Crafting Hall. After some hushed conversation with some of the guards, several of them salute Dwin and give small cheers. 2 run off and return promptly with a bench which they place atop the archer tower.
Dwin then sits atop the tower, looking out over Jiyyd with about a half dozen ale bottles at his feet and seems rather pleased with himself._
