Jiyyd Rumors

  • Dwin surveys the damage to the Jiyyd Crafting Hall and then marches over to the Council building muttering some not-so-nice sounding words along the way.

Where the fark was the Jiyyd Militia? Sittin around soakin their toes? Drinkin tea?

And the Legion? On Holiday again? How the fark these lil bandits sneak in here and burn our building is beyond me.

  • Eluriel and Cyrian are seen working side by side at kara's house to build a new ladder of oak, after completing the project Cyrian drags the remaining logs to the Craft Hall to begin repairs to the burned out building.

  • There was a large commotion in Jiyyd recently as Chaevre' Vaelen appeared out of nowhere in the town holding a young child by the neck. The child who is known by many as Star, was then thrown to the ground and had a staff pressed hard down on her kneck, choking her and causing her to be unable to breathe. The witch seemed very angry at the girl for apaprently having attempted to use some sort of magical device against her, Gildor arrived at the scene some time later and demanded the girl be let go, some words were exchanged and mentions of deception, eventually Chaevre' let the girl go and then proceeded to cast a spell that flattened gildor to the ground and squeezed the life out of her until he was severely bruised, bleeding and unconsious. The witch mentioned that further betrayal of her trust will result in the deaths of everyone involved.

  • The bald, tatooed, albino monk typicially called "V" has been seen working at the exotics shop almost exclusively during the days over the past few months. While not busy lifting and moving things, or running errands, he is usually seen practicing his art through forms in clearings around Jiyyd. However he recently has been seen less at the shop and appears to be adventuring more once again.

  • An incredibly irate Kara is seen on the southern hill overlooking Jiyyd in the daylight, glancing down at the burnt remains of a ladder leading up to her house in the trees. Those coming near are glowered at until Kara finally turns and stalks north to go and locate a cutting axe, intent on building a new ladder.

  • Despite minor setbacks in the past weeks, the sisters are out there, providing a shelter for all travellers near the bridge. For a while everyone who passed by has been offered a warm cup of tea and a safe shelter, only troubled for once by minor attacks by hobgoblins.

  • The Chancellor of Norwick was seen yelling at the cleric Raryldor as he stood atop the watchtower at the south gate. They went back and forth about something in elven for a good long while. The chancellor eventually stormed off toward the crossroads red faced and full of anger. The elf Raryldor calmly and quietly followed after.

  • Earlier in the week, a loud explosion could be heard coming from inside the Temple of Helm. When checked by the town guard, the doors to the Temple were found to be magically locked shut. A half day later, the doors opened and wary adventurers exited. Quick rumors spread that a man of white tried some kind of magical experiment and it went awry.

  • A bloodied and battered Nyda comes into Jiyyd with the body of her sister Melody over one shoulder. It seems the Hobgoblins took a very serious dislike to the idea of the Sisterhood offering a friendly face to travellers on land they claim as theirs. After raising a now confused Melody who remembers none of the event, Nyda goes to seek counsel with her Family on where to move the sanctuary to, so further deaths are avoided.

  • Apparently orcs wanted to give the boring old Jiyyd a little facelift. The methods they applied were typically orcish, crude and unprecise. So instead of adding a nice bubble to the top of the Whore, now a couple of boulders hinder the free navigation around cookpot known only as the famous meeting place. Sadly their plans to make Jiyyd more accessible by blowing away the southern wall were also foiled by some cruel adventurers who murdered around fifty of the orcs, before the remaining orcs had to retire to their beds.

  • The statue is regularly tended to by a senator of Peltarch, on his frequent trips south through the Nars. Stoppin gto speak a prayer as he does so, some may regocnise as the passages from The Divine Death.

  • For several days now, a small camp manned by members of the Sisterhood and other helpful souls has been set near the bridge in the Nars Pass. They offer shelter and hospitality to any traveller on the snowy road and only seem to fight off the hobgoblins that attack them or their guests directly.

  • A rumor hints at the reappearance of the dreaded invisible tentacle monster. Apparently it fed on the brain of a man, leaving a mindless shell. The name mind-flayer is whispered, striking fear in some. Other rumors tell of a magical cure for the man and again other rumors suggest the silver valley finally couldn't contain the demons they grow there. Some few may even think that one or another rumor has a grain of truth in them.

  • _Some time during the middle of the night, an echoing boom and the splintering of wood shatters the silence south of Jiyyd. The next morning after the fog has lifted from the windy plains, residents of Jiyyd who stand atop the hill in the south of town can just make out a gaping hole where the gate to the orc fortress once was.

For the brave who venture into the plains when the orcs aren't looking, they may find traces of ore and the occasional duergar gem leading from a path into the forest near Mintas. The rumour around Jiyyd is that duergar have a bone to pick with the orcs._

  • Apparently the guard received several noise complaints a few nights ago concerning a small, but extremely drunk party that was held around the fire pit in Jiyyd. Among those rumored to have been found in varying states of consciousness the next morning were Melanie Stern, Da'Nar, Kim Adderglee (who was reportedly sober despite her alcohol soaked clothes), and Laucian Di'Ren. Rumors about the festivities say that they included, but were not limited to, yelling, falling over, and a drunken back flip competition that, amazingly, only resulted in a single injury.

  • _Not long after the orcs attacked Jiyyd and splintered the south and west gates, a mob of freedom fighting adventurers led by the Chancellor of Norwick are seen gathering torches and powderkegs with the intent to blow the orc fortress gate off its hinges. Chanting and casting, the mob turned invisible and were heard shuffling out the west gate.

    The plains stay strangely silent.

Several hours later, the group returned with the powderkegs. They mention falling back when they saw hundreds of heavily armed orcs and trained worgs guarding the fortress gate. It seems prudence has ruled the day._

  • _Alarm spreads through Jiyyd with the news of the abduction of a little girl, Abbey, by mysterious men. The kidnappers came right into the girl's bedroom, and made off with her before an alarm could be raised.

A hastily assembled search party consisting of Sywyn, Senria, Laucian Di'ren, Da'Nar, and Kim Adderglee set out soon afterwards, following a trail picked up by local scouts.

They returned some hours later, wounded but triumphant, the little girl unharmed. One of the rescuers told the guard that they had destroyed a camp of cultists to some unspecified god, but that some had likely escaped.

It seems likely that the parents of Jiyyd will be keeping a closer than normal eye on their children, especially given the rumor that the rescuers also brought back three sacks… each filled with children's bones...._

  • _Rumors begin to spread about the militiaman Aelthas and a man named Da'Nar standing strong at the sisterhood house as an army of orcs were attacking Jiyyd. The battle moved to the sisterhood house and the road, hundreds of orc bodies were scattered along the Long Road and the sisterhood property, the two men still standing, while others were in the town defending the various gates.

A challenge was issued by a bigger orc with a greatsword, a non lethal fight with the militiaman, which he seemed more than happy to give. The duel took place on the plains under the watchful eyes of several others, surprisingly Aelthas returned to town alive, the orc kept true to his word and spared Aelthas' life.

Even though he lost the duel, Aelthas was seen taking his post at the gates afterwards, looking much happier than he has been, since the last orc attack in which he died._

  • Following the loss of the sisterhood animals to a raiding group of Hobgoblins the Skald and many others went to the hobgoblin lair to try to rescue or take revenge. The cow was found slaughtered, a state soon shared by every hobgoblin in the lair and temple.

As yet there has been no sign of the dog, Sparky.

  • Noted adventurers Attentus, Glognar, Horbag and Ragnhild stumpled back into Jiyyd from the east road, frostbitten and badly injured. The group brought back tales of giant slaying and a massive snow storm, then proceeded to celebrate by engaging in a drinking contest of near epic proportions. The wise mage chose not to compete with the warriors, who were instead joined by Peltarch Defender Mark Kelben. Predictably, the latter was the first to bite the dust, while the other three gulped down ale after ale after ale. The ground shook as the mighty Horbag fell, and then there were two…Glognar and Ragnhild, both stubbornly remaining on their feet. The empty bottles piled high around them before, incredibly, Glognar uttered a curse and stumbled backwards onto the grass. A triumphant Ragnhild celebrated her victory with another ale.
