Jiyyd Rumors

  • The Temple of Helm is mysteriously closed to worshippers, pilgrims, lost children and anyone not on the list of the vigilant Legion guards.

    What's going on?

  • Several witnesses in Jiyyd confirm that a man in red lacquered plate armor and a dark-red, wrym-like helm staggered into the town trailing blood that was flowing from within his suit. Several arrows protruded from the man's pauldron and back plate, each with scorch marks ringing them in the metal. He collapsed near feet from the healer's door, but was quickly attended by a priest who was chancing nearby.
Upon removal of the man's helm, the familiar scarred and hardened face of Daerus Olarryn was seen choking out a warning to the priest (whom some claim to be Sy). Not much was heard, save for the words "ambush," "Phoenix warriors," and "Nars bridge."
Hours later Daerus was seen heading to the Legion barracks quite healed but with a deep scowl etched in his face.

  • (Enough ooc in this thread….take it to PM's or another thread to sort out the dispute)

Dwin surveys the damage to the Jiyyd Crafting Hall and then marches over to the Council building muttering some not-so-nice sounding words along the way.

Where the fark was the Jiyyd Militia? Sittin around soakin their toes? Drinkin tea?

And the Legion? On Holiday again? How the fark these lil bandits sneak in here and burn our building is beyond me.

(( Kallethen's Pet Peeve #192: Blaming characters IC because their players weren't online OOC. ))

((Dwin's pet peeve #12: People making quick assumptions about posts without asking.

Who said I was blaming a PC? BELIEVE ME, as leader of the Norwick Milita and one who misses many-a-goblin attack, I am not blaming PC's for not being there.

Did Just'ene do anything? Any of the NPC guards? These are the questions Dwin wants answered.

Frankly, I believe Dwin's response to be completely appropriate. Our property was attacked, and a town with not one but TWO military groups offered no resistance.

    ))

  • ((Could be wrong, but I think the Legion does have NPC soldiers a DM could spawn, or move Militia around Jiyyd appropriately.))

  • The Chancellor of Norwick met with a party by the fires in jiyyd, rounded up a few more adventurers, then set out for mintas for several days of research and study. They returned unexpectedly the next day with three children who had been wandering lost in the woods. The children were supposedly taken to their uncle’s home where the party disbanded. The chancellor was heard saying he would attempt the journey to mintas again in a few tenday.

(( thanks to everyone who made time for that little trip 😄 ))

  • Rumors spread that it was a giant troll who walked into the hall and then broke open the smithing oven, spilling the burning coals onto the ground. Another rumor suggests that trolls are an accepted an everyday sight in Jiyyd and that it was more likely a wizard who was transformed into a troll and angry that the legion has mastered the ability to provide better than magic armor without having to give up parts of their life-essence. Most people suspect that neither is true, still there seems to have been talk of a new wizard form in town, and it involves Peppy and the red-troll form.

  • Dentin goes around Jiyyd looking for someone who can explain to him just what exactly happened to the crafting hall.

  • Eluriel and Cyrian are seen working side by side at kara's house to build a new ladder of oak, after completing the project Cyrian drags the remaining logs to the Craft Hall to begin repairs to the burned out building.

  • There was a large commotion in Jiyyd recently as Chaevre' Vaelen appeared out of nowhere in the town holding a young child by the neck. The child who is known by many as Star, was then thrown to the ground and had a staff pressed hard down on her kneck, choking her and causing her to be unable to breathe. The witch seemed very angry at the girl for apaprently having attempted to use some sort of magical device against her, Gildor arrived at the scene some time later and demanded the girl be let go, some words were exchanged and mentions of deception, eventually Chaevre' let the girl go and then proceeded to cast a spell that flattened gildor to the ground and squeezed the life out of her until he was severely bruised, bleeding and unconsious. The witch mentioned that further betrayal of her trust will result in the deaths of everyone involved.

  • The bald, tatooed, albino monk typicially called "V" has been seen working at the exotics shop almost exclusively during the days over the past few months. While not busy lifting and moving things, or running errands, he is usually seen practicing his art through forms in clearings around Jiyyd. However he recently has been seen less at the shop and appears to be adventuring more once again.

  • An incredibly irate Kara is seen on the southern hill overlooking Jiyyd in the daylight, glancing down at the burnt remains of a ladder leading up to her house in the trees. Those coming near are glowered at until Kara finally turns and stalks north to go and locate a cutting axe, intent on building a new ladder.

  • Despite minor setbacks in the past weeks, the sisters are out there, providing a shelter for all travellers near the bridge. For a while everyone who passed by has been offered a warm cup of tea and a safe shelter, only troubled for once by minor attacks by hobgoblins.

  • The Chancellor of Norwick was seen yelling at the cleric Raryldor as he stood atop the watchtower at the south gate. They went back and forth about something in elven for a good long while. The chancellor eventually stormed off toward the crossroads red faced and full of anger. The elf Raryldor calmly and quietly followed after.

  • Earlier in the week, a loud explosion could be heard coming from inside the Temple of Helm. When checked by the town guard, the doors to the Temple were found to be magically locked shut. A half day later, the doors opened and wary adventurers exited. Quick rumors spread that a man of white tried some kind of magical experiment and it went awry.

  • A bloodied and battered Nyda comes into Jiyyd with the body of her sister Melody over one shoulder. It seems the Hobgoblins took a very serious dislike to the idea of the Sisterhood offering a friendly face to travellers on land they claim as theirs. After raising a now confused Melody who remembers none of the event, Nyda goes to seek counsel with her Family on where to move the sanctuary to, so further deaths are avoided.

  • Apparently orcs wanted to give the boring old Jiyyd a little facelift. The methods they applied were typically orcish, crude and unprecise. So instead of adding a nice bubble to the top of the Whore, now a couple of boulders hinder the free navigation around cookpot known only as the famous meeting place. Sadly their plans to make Jiyyd more accessible by blowing away the southern wall were also foiled by some cruel adventurers who murdered around fifty of the orcs, before the remaining orcs had to retire to their beds.

  • The statue is regularly tended to by a senator of Peltarch, on his frequent trips south through the Nars. Stoppin gto speak a prayer as he does so, some may regocnise as the passages from The Divine Death.
