To master the Sword.
-
She would ask Robyn to come sit and talk with her in private and when they got to the mermaid she sits and speaks softly
You remember the Longsword Raryldor gave me? Well…..it was to be used in an offering to Corellon before Anelundil would train me in the skills of the blade. The people of Norwick have told me something has befallen him but not what...Please...is he alright?
She again proceeds to look at the glimmering hilt of the blade on her hip then back to Robyn with a hopeful expression
-
(Robyn is pretty easy to find. You track her down coming out of the Bard College back to the Mermaid one afternoon)
Somethin' I can 'elp you with miss?
(She speaks in a south Dale accent)
-
recognizing the description she rushes right to the mermaid and hunts for Robyn using her skills in tracking as well as speaking to others to try and find Robyn
-
(A description of Robyn is given by the locals. Human woman, medium to tall, auburn colored hair, dressed in black cloth or black and white leathers. It is said she is staying at the Dancing Mermaid in the city of Peltarch. Seen recently with Raryldor in the docks district.)
-
Eyes widen at that instantly looking very nervous and worried and sets out seeking Robyn to ask after him searching any settlement that might have seen her and asking the people till someone can point her out
-
With the time that has passed since Eilonna last spoke to Anelundil, things have changed. The place where they last met… the swordmaster cannot be found. When she asks around Norwick, none have seen him in quite some time. One though, in the inn of the Grapevine, smiles sadly and bids Eilonna seek out Robyn, to ask what happened of Anelundil. It seems the two were acquainted...
-
She returns some months later to find him and but finds him not there and begins hunting around
-
Slowly nods sheathing the blade as she seems to consider…then realizes she knows of no smith what so ever
I fear the task ahead of me will be a very difficult one indeed….I only know of two elves in the land, that being you and Elessar, and Elessar is a wood crafter. Might you know of any I might find?
-
Not any blade will suffice; the weapon you carry, unskilled and untested, will not do.
Seek out an elven mastercrafter, that you may ask them to craft a blade for you. I did not say such would be easy. Nothing worth learning ever is.
But consider, young learner, that there is much to be learned in the seeking.
-
Pulls her own sword from its scabbard offering it forward
I would offer my own blade, I have had it a very long while and to make such an offering to Corellon and the Seldarine would be a pleasure and honor.
-
Anelundil smiles a little.
Distance and time are not issues, no. Such would be a worthy offering to the Seldarine, and should Eilonna secure such an item and offer it to the Seldarine, I would be more than pleased to teach her what I can.
-
She looks between them as she waits for the response, a smile growing as she looks to her potential mentor
-
((please pardon my lateness. I have been very ill for over a week now and its shown no signs of letting up.))
The pleasure is mine.
What exactly can I help you with, here? Surely there are more capable swordsmen than myself to learn the craft from.
If it is an offering you wish to make, however….I can think of nothing finer to offer as a sacrifice to Corellon than a finely made longsword, crafted by an elven mastercrafter.
Such things are not common in this land, however.
But I do not imagine that that is an issue?
-
Anelundil bows low to Raryldor.
[Elven]Greetings elder, and the blessings of the Seldarine upon you this day. A pleasure to meet you finally.
-
She leaves the meeting opening a GPS scroll and locates Raryldors name as being present in Peltarch, she sighs softly though still heads to the docks and with a smile shows her boat pass to the captain, on the way she sits staring up spotting the moon as it sits overhead. A warm smile graces her as she eventually looks back to realize the ship has docked. Upon finding Raryldor she sits beside him and asks him how one might appease the Seldharine via an offering which turns out to be a very broad answer. She then asks him to come back with her to meet her mentor and perhaps together create a proper offering. Upon his agreement she leads him back to Norwick to meet her Mentor, once again bowing her head before him.
This is Raryldor, he is a priest of Corellon and I have asked him to come meet you. Apparently an offering to the whole Seldharine is a broad thing to do so I have asked his help to make a fitting and proper offering.
(( Raryldor has been asked to come and post here ))
-
She nods softly as she speaks next with some intent
I have been speaking to him and learning of the Seldharine, I have already learned my heart is closer to Sehanine Moonbow. I will ask him though.
-
Then as a young elf, I suggest you seek out a priest of Corellon or another of the Seldarine, and begin your education. You cannot learn the ways of our people without understanding first WHY we are a people.
I believe the one you should seek out here is named Raryldor.
-
She smiles at his words….then looks at a loss
Forgive me I barely know anything of the Seldarine, what would be considered a worthy offering to them? I honestly doubt any form of wealth would work and I have none to speak of anyways….
Looks to him hopefully as she awaits his answer
-
Anelundil looks the longsword over, nodding to himself.
A simple enough blade, and one that your bloodline will help you master. Elven woodsmen for generations have worked with the longsword and longbow, and for good reason.
No point in breaking with tradition now, is there?
He smiles to her, before continuing.
If you wish for me to teach you, then you must honour our blood, and make a worthy offering to the Seldarine. Once you have done this, we can begin our lessons.
-
She would nod to him heeding his advice before drawing a Longsword and offering it to him, it is very basic and nothing special
If you believe I would be better suited with a Rapier, I would be willing to switch of course. I am of note a Ranger and as I said, training as a scout. I also really would have to heed your advice with a weapon other then a Bow as I really have no idea what I am doing otherwise.
A shy smile forms as she speaks honestly though she remains calm and patient with him
