Mog Election Activities

In the first week since the announcement that Mog will be running for the Peltarch Senate Mog is seen almost every waking moment walking thru Peltarch knocking on doors to talk to the inhabitants, having conversations in the local taverns, having small talk with passerbys , or even chatting with local merchants. The gist of the conversations are said to be Mog inquiring on what was concerning them, what their hopes, dreams and fears are. Especially, what they want from the future.
All and all word gets out about the new contender. Some scoff, some shake their heads, some smile and wait, and some seem eager about the half orcs ideas. To all Mog invites to rallies in the near future , rich and poor alike, soldiers, priests, merchants and all that will listen for what he has to say isn't for the rich, the guilds, the nobles alone but for the Peltarchian people.
Mog's words carry hope for the future. A strong military leader, skilled artisan, diplomat, and tradesman is what he offers. Not fanciful honeyed words and vague promises that others have given in the past. Mog offers to help fix the core needs of Peltarch. Better troops with better equipment to defend Peltarch from her foes so everyone can live in safety, stronger trade relations and commerce to improve every citizen's life with better housing, food, and goods.

Mog heard that election was stolen. Now Mog no know this truth or false. But people right to know what happened! Every vote from Peltarch citizen counts, and should be counted. If not citizen then should no get vote. Mog say citizens go to guilds and senators and get them to put people into looking into this. If election was stolen then those responsible need to pay. If election not stolen then people deserve peace of mind knowing this.
Mog ask the people to act now, no wait, make citizen voices heard now!

Mog is seen about town gathering people to go vote. Knocking on doors, raiding bars and taverns to gather crowds of voters to head to the polls.

Citizens of Peltarch, Mog say time to put people power to use. Mog want every citizen who have vote to use it, No let someone else choose citizen fate. It there for people to take. Mog suggest look hard at each candidate. Judge them by them hearts not their words. Words are easy.

It what in here what matters. Make sure give each candidate good look. Mog can no tell people who vote for. Mog can just say that if people liked Mog ideas then best candidates Mog think is Eowiel, Mariston and Zyphlin.
It is time for people to choose a better road to travel. There fork ahead. Can choose the better road or follow the same road that got people in problems in first place.

Mog is seen approaching various soldiers and 'adventurers' alike inquiring if they have access to the gear they need.
Defenders of Peltarch tired of no having the gear them need to defend Peltarch? Tired of having to leave Peltarch and go looking for better gear? Mog curious how this work. Peltarch major trade city but can no get qaulity gear for defense of Peltarch? This seem wrong to people of Peltarch? WHy if one of Peltarch citizen want best weapon can get them have to go to the smaller southern towns to the south to find smith? Shouldn't Peltarch be the place people come to buy?

Mog think this wrong, time for Peltarch to not only claim be major trading city but actually be major trading city. When people have to travel days to get to small town to get qaulity gear that Peltarch no have that just wrong.
Peltarch need open up trade and bring those goods here on Peltarch shelves. Peltarch citizens want Peltarch defended best can, in order to do that Peltarch need be able offer best gear for soldiers, citizens, and adventurers.
Mog ask everyone go to Peltarch senators, go to Peltarch guilds and merchants and ask, no, demand that them open the trade routes to the south so Peltarch shops can be filled with the best commodities around.
Mog have been asking around to merchants and guilds to find out what them need. Mog got large list of goods waiting to be shipped to Peltarch, why them no let Mog bring them? Them like having inferior goods and high prices?

Now the time for Peltarch citizens to use citizen power and demand more and better goods. Vote for better goods, more goods and better defense.

Mog holds several rallies about town
Mog friends, fellow citizens Mog come before citizens with a request. In every senator there a single quality that needs to be present, self sacerfice for the people of Peltarch. A senator must be willing to give their all, their very lives for the people of which they serve.
::quietly looks about::
Mog is here today to give all Mog can to ensure that each and everyone of Peltarch citizens can have better day tomorrow. To have hope, food, shelter, and be able to hold their head high and be proud of themselves.
Mog here to ask that Mog believers put their support behind candidate Eowiel. Eowiel maybe a bard, but Eowiel have heart and serves well to defend Peltarch walls from Peltarch enemies.
Then, in the background Mog will continue to work with the citizens of Peltarch to open more trade to Peltarch markets. Mog will see to it that merchants have more wares to sell, crafters have more raw materials to use, and the children of Peltarch will have more food in their bellies.
Mog ask all of citizens to be with Mog in this, to pave way for better Peltarch, a happier Peltrach.

Every good soldier knows when the battle is lost, every good soldier knows when to retreat, every good soldier knows it is better to have allies at soldier's back. So Mog chose to gaurd Eowiels to ensure the battle is won. Maybe not battle way Mog wanted to fight but the cause is still just.
Mog salute Peltarch, the faith that citizens have in Mog inspire Mog. Mog look forward to serving Peltarch one day as senator, it just not today.
::mog then performs a perfect Peltarchian military salute to the crowd then moves down into the crowds to talk the citizens thanking them for their support::

Holds a poster before him
People of Peltarch….this the kind of influence people want? A small mined person trying make others look bad from the shadows? Person not even able come out in public to speak, what them got to hide? Orcs blood means war?

Funny how quick people forget who caused civil war..wasn't an orc. Funny, wasn't orc that caused druid problems, kobold problem, lizard problem, wasn't even orcs that caused war with Eastlanders or war with Hoarsmen.

After being overheard by a group of merchants while talking to Richard Mog goes to the merchants and explains
Tax would be on senate contributions, not merchants, that whole point.

After talking about more taxes, less of the merchants stick around. Some grumble about "Where do our current taxes go?"
((er..the way the question was asked, I assumed we were talking off to the side and not to a crowd. Wouldn't make much sense the way I said it for a speech. If it were to the crowd I would of added more. Maybe I misunderstood, oh well.))

Tough problem. Mog think Sir Richard looking at it wrong way. Mog think most people try fix result of problem not problem. Richard can make orphanges all over but still more orphans. WHy? Because parents dying. So, if want fix orphan problem then find way reduce deaths.
Now several ways Mog see doing this. Obviously them no fighting not option. So better gear and better training help. And Mog think working with other groups help reduce deaths. Take current war, if legion was no helping then there be even more orphans then now. Peltarch need work with other groups in fights outside Peltarch as well as share reports on enemies with others. By adding other group then have bigger more diverse force that reduces deaths.
Another way to help is to put money towards raising the parents. Think that expensive? Consider there least four candidates spending around 50 thousand in senate race, 200k would bring good number soldiers back. Now Mog not saying take all money, but if there that much gold then a small tax on that not be so bad. After all them want to help Peltarch. Imagine what good them do if them spend money towards that instead of fancy food and decorations. People hungry and some waste money on stuff that no help people tomorrow.
Crazy Mog think.
But asking what should be done now? First Mog think all orphans over 12 should be tested for skills. Then them should be sent to wheres skills best at as aprentices. Give them a future. How pay for it? Easy, give master tax break equal to apprenticeship cost. That way orphan that have mage potential learning mage stuff, soldier orphan working with gaurd or defenders. Now this put valuable future citizens in good jobs for future and reduce numbers.
This leave under 12 orphans. This where tax come in, if groups can afford give candidates tons of gold then small tax increase on them should no hurt too much, just small percentage. This be used to house the orphans and prepare them to get to apprentice stage by brining in tutors. Also, Mog would suggest bringing in volunteers as well as hiring teachers. Try give teachers organization tax break for their time. Such as if bard from college come to teach the children then bard college get small break.

One last thing, them not orphans, them children of Peltarch, them have homes, the big city of Peltarch, it Peltarch duty to watch after Peltarch children.
That should about cover it all Mog think.

Sir Richard post a question in public to the candidate for the senate. "I have the upmost respect for those who wish to run for public office. I wish to ask an important question.
With the war with the eastlanders the people who have been hurt the most have been the children of peltarch for their are many orphans who have lost their parents in this war. The city's orphanage is past full capacity their is no more space and their supplies are poor at best. What do you propose on doing to bring some sort of normacy to these children who have lost it all.
I have seen the faces of these childrens and held them tight as they cry for their mothers and fathers who are no longer with us. I tell them things will get better and that their loved ones fought for the safety of the city. They where brave and courages and mommy and daddy ask them to be the same in the days to come.
How will you deal with the issue.What they need is not a hand out but a hand up. A hand in helping them find new families that may love them and help them. How will you do this.

As usual, a Mog rally is a bit different than others. A midsized crowd gathers for a show and then as Mog plows thru his speech in his own special way, some of the crowd disperses. At the beginning of his campaign, the transition from crowd to small gathering went pretty quick. These days most of the crowd however seem to appreciate his honest manner and will listen to the end.
A few in the crowd cheer him on, most of the rest give a polite clap and then go about their daily business.

Mog been reading about Fisher King, Fisher king was not of trading village that became known as Peltarch. Fisher King was from outside village. Fisher King was soldier. Just like Mog.

Mog been in Peltarch for more than 7 years. Mog have attended many council meetings with Senator Nico.
Fisher King grew to love Peltarch just like Mog has.

If people want another Senator like Syne go ahead no vote for Mog. If want Senator that here to help the people then vote Mog. Same people that saying no vote for Mog same people that no would of voted for Fisher King if Fisher was running.

That what people want?
As Mog said before. All these people say want increase trade, want increase military and protection. How many of them have experience in both? Some no have experience in either. Yet them say them so much better choice. Mog only candidate with experience in both military and trade and only candidate that not only working to fulfill promises but the only one with resources in palce to do it.

Them using honeyed words on the people. To make them seem better. Words will no keep people safe, words no will make food appear on tables.
Funny, when Fisher King was out on boat doing pirate work no one complained that Fisher could no help Peltarch. What would Peltarch be like now if no for Fisher King? An outsider, a soldier, a man interested in trade? All things them accuse Mog of.
Mog think people who say bad things of Mog should first read them own history and see how Peltarch came to be.
Mog think people should think about that and why people that have been here years and years and have so much good will towards the people why them have no found the time to help the people untill them running for election. Seem funny to Mog that everyone now so worried about the people.
