Mog Election Activities

  • Holds a poster before him

    People of Peltarch….this the kind of influence people want? A small mined person trying make others look bad from the shadows? Person not even able come out in public to speak, what them got to hide? Orcs blood means war?

    ::laughs::

    Funny how quick people forget who caused civil war..wasn't an orc. Funny, wasn't orc that caused druid problems, kobold problem, lizard problem, wasn't even orcs that caused war with Eastlanders or war with Hoarsmen.

    ::looks at the poster::

    Mog think people should let people that make such lies know what them think of it. Mog think Peltarch citizens know it's what in the heart that matters, not what is in veins.

  • After being overheard by a group of merchants while talking to Richard Mog goes to the merchants and explains

    Tax would be on senate contributions, not merchants, that whole point.

  • @038f56080f=Seraphaine:

    As usual Mog supporters are regular people. The hardworking stiffs from the Docks. Mid-sized groups come and cheer on Mog, then head back to work. Some of the merchant class nod and respectfully listen to the whole speach, some walk off.

    After talking about more taxes, less of the merchants stick around. Some grumble about "Where do our current taxes go?"

    ((er..the way the question was asked, I assumed we were talking off to the side and not to a crowd. Wouldn't make much sense the way I said it for a speech. If it were to the crowd I would of added more. Maybe I misunderstood, oh well.))

  • Clandra invites Nor to her bed as he enters the college.

  • *Dwin Dolvak removes one of the posters and carries it back to his store like he might a soiled diaper.

    When he gets back to the shop, he hands the poster to Nor his…assistant.*

    Nor, go find out what ya can about this...garbage...I wanna know who printed it, who has the presses to print it and who funded it. Be quick, lad. I want to know. Ya might start investigatin' around the ballet-dancer college.

  • Council of Moradin

    ::Someone posts these posters around town. There aren't many and they look like they were done one at a time::

    ::People skitter away from the scary posters::

  • :;grins at Sir Richard's question::

    Mog glad Richard ask that.

    ::looks pensive::

    Tough problem. Mog think Sir Richard looking at it wrong way. Mog think most people try fix result of problem not problem. Richard can make orphanges all over but still more orphans. WHy? Because parents dying. So, if want fix orphan problem then find way reduce deaths.

    Now several ways Mog see doing this. Obviously them no fighting not option. So better gear and better training help. And Mog think working with other groups help reduce deaths. Take current war, if legion was no helping then there be even more orphans then now. Peltarch need work with other groups in fights outside Peltarch as well as share reports on enemies with others. By adding other group then have bigger more diverse force that reduces deaths.

    Another way to help is to put money towards raising the parents. Think that expensive? Consider there least four candidates spending around 50 thousand in senate race, 200k would bring good number soldiers back. Now Mog not saying take all money, but if there that much gold then a small tax on that not be so bad. After all them want to help Peltarch. Imagine what good them do if them spend money towards that instead of fancy food and decorations. People hungry and some waste money on stuff that no help people tomorrow.

    Crazy Mog think.

    But asking what should be done now? First Mog think all orphans over 12 should be tested for skills. Then them should be sent to wheres skills best at as aprentices. Give them a future. How pay for it? Easy, give master tax break equal to apprenticeship cost. That way orphan that have mage potential learning mage stuff, soldier orphan working with gaurd or defenders. Now this put valuable future citizens in good jobs for future and reduce numbers.

    This leave under 12 orphans. This where tax come in, if groups can afford give candidates tons of gold then small tax increase on them should no hurt too much, just small percentage. This be used to house the orphans and prepare them to get to apprentice stage by brining in tutors. Also, Mog would suggest bringing in volunteers as well as hiring teachers. Try give teachers organization tax break for their time. Such as if bard from college come to teach the children then bard college get small break.

    ::looks at RIchard::

    One last thing, them not orphans, them children of Peltarch, them have homes, the big city of Peltarch, it Peltarch duty to watch after Peltarch children.

    That should about cover it all Mog think.

    ::smiles and waves at some Mog supporters::

  • Sir Richard post a question in public to the candidate for the senate. "I have the upmost respect for those who wish to run for public office. I wish to ask an important question.
    With the war with the eastlanders the people who have been hurt the most have been the children of peltarch for their are many orphans who have lost their parents in this war. The city's orphanage is past full capacity their is no more space and their supplies are poor at best. What do you propose on doing to bring some sort of normacy to these children who have lost it all.
    I have seen the faces of these childrens and held them tight as they cry for their mothers and fathers who are no longer with us. I tell them things will get better and that their loved ones fought for the safety of the city. They where brave and courages and mommy and daddy ask them to be the same in the days to come.
    How will you deal with the issue.What they need is not a hand out but a hand up. A hand in helping them find new families that may love them and help them. How will you do this.

  • * In the back of the crowd, a quiet dwarf eyes the crowd as he slowly tugs his beard, taking note of the crowd's reaction. As he listens to the speech he pensively tugs on his beard.*

  • Council of Moradin

    As usual, a Mog rally is a bit different than others. A midsized crowd gathers for a show and then as Mog plows thru his speech in his own special way, some of the crowd disperses. At the beginning of his campaign, the transition from crowd to small gathering went pretty quick. These days most of the crowd however seem to appreciate his honest manner and will listen to the end.

    A few in the crowd cheer him on, most of the rest give a polite clap and then go about their daily business.

  • :Mog flashes a big grin to any that question his credentials::

    Mog been reading about Fisher King, Fisher king was not of trading village that became known as Peltarch. Fisher King was from outside village. Fisher King was soldier. Just like Mog.

    :looks about::

    Remember that? Fisher King was interested in trade. Just like Mog.

    ::chuckles::

    Mog been in Peltarch for more than 7 years. Mog have attended many council meetings with Senator Nico.

    Fisher King grew to love Peltarch just like Mog has.

    ::laughs::

    If people want another Senator like Syne go ahead no vote for Mog. If want Senator that here to help the people then vote Mog. Same people that saying no vote for Mog same people that no would of voted for Fisher King if Fisher was running.

    ::looks at the people about::

    That what people want?

    As Mog said before. All these people say want increase trade, want increase military and protection. How many of them have experience in both? Some no have experience in either. Yet them say them so much better choice. Mog only candidate with experience in both military and trade and only candidate that not only working to fulfill promises but the only one with resources in palce to do it.

    ::chuckles::

    Them using honeyed words on the people. To make them seem better. Words will no keep people safe, words no will make food appear on tables.

    Funny, when Fisher King was out on boat doing pirate work no one complained that Fisher could no help Peltarch. What would Peltarch be like now if no for Fisher King? An outsider, a soldier, a man interested in trade? All things them accuse Mog of.

    Mog think people who say bad things of Mog should first read them own history and see how Peltarch came to be.

    Mog think people should think about that and why people that have been here years and years and have so much good will towards the people why them have no found the time to help the people untill them running for election. Seem funny to Mog that everyone now so worried about the people.

  • _:: dark-cowled robed men with shaved heads move in the darker circles of the big city, discussing the Legionnaire's candidacy. They point to the Legion's aggressive recruiting tactics, which seem to discount intelligence entirely, and their self-righteous use of brute force to stamp out anything they deem unlawful. The men move quietly, and quickly, and speak only to those involved in underground dealings. Beyond political concerns, they also carefully seek remnants of the long-silent Blood Spiders. ::

    :: A man in a heavy red and black-dyed breastplate strides through the southern main gates, flanked by toughs in the livery of Norwick. The grim, red-skinned cleric bears openly the insignia of Norwick's town chancelor and his path leads him directly to the offices of the city magistrate. As he passes one of the Legionnaires he pauses briefly, his visage passive and expressionless, as both his bodyguards take small copper pins and attach them to their leather jerkins. During the man's meeting with the city's administration his guards can be seen drinking in a nearby tavern, openly stating that they think the chancellor's support probably coincides with their own. "Ye wouldn't think it by der preachin' ways", one was heard shouting loudly, "but da God o' Slaughter be behind the Legion! Ain't no one spillin' more blood!"_

  • Early in the day and late after the work day Mog is seen about the commerce area and near the Lucky Ferret giving a small speech dressed in blacksmith clothing.

    Citizens of Peltarch Mog come before citizens as one of the people. Mog think too long Peltarch been run by people with fancy words, cheap magicky tricks, or gold coming out of pockets. Mog no have any of these things. Mog worked all Mog life with Mog hands to get where Mog is. Mog is a veteran soldier, master craftsman, trader, and most importantly Peltarch citizen. Mog knows what it is like to suffer, not have enough food, sleeping under the cold sky, and no coins to spend. Mog knows what it like to live everyday fearing for Mog life.

    ::looks across the audience meeting their gaze::

    Mog know citizens know this feeling. The feeling deep in pit of Mog stomach that make Mog want curl up and die. Mog started in this world with nothing but clothes on Mog back. No family, no home. Nothing. Mog
    was alone in the world hated and thrown out wherever Mog went. But Mog no gave up, Mog worked fingers to the bone. No one gave Mog a free ride. No silver spoon. Each and everyday citizen of Peltarch go thru this. But Mog wonder who looking out for citizens? People that make Peltarch strong are left alone in the dark.

    ::puts his head down for a moment then slowly raises it to face the crowd::

    Mog come here simple man like all of citizens. Like Fisher King, Mog here to do a job then Mog will let others take control. Mog just want let citizens have chance to get what citizens need. Food in bellies, roof over head, coins in pouch, to feel secure, and diginity. Yes, Mog want every citizen be able lift head in pride.

    Now Mog know many others over years have made promises to citizens. Them say them going to make lives better. Them give big promises that never come true. Mog make promises to citizens too but Mog going to keep Mog's, Mog even going to keep Mog's promises even if Peltarch no want Mog senator. Mog has already committed Legion troops to help Defenders and Gaurds fight the Eastlanders. The same Legion troops that gave lives to free Peltarch from Koreth grasp are now fighting and dying to keep the roads safe for citizens. Dying so citizens can feel safe here in Peltarch. Them fighting so less Peltarch soldiers will die and so land can be free for travel. Mog know every soldier that dies leave a hole in someone family. Mog sure all citizens here know someone that died in service to Peltarch. A smiling face them never see again. How many be alive today if them had more help? Better gear? Better training? Mog know Peltarch soldiers better than most, but what else could of been done to keep them alive?

    Mog working with them to bring better gear to soldiers. Bringing Legion soldiers to the Nars Pass to make sure as few die as possible. Them working together will make Peltarch soldiers better, stronger. Meaning citizens be safer and be soldiers coming home and less memories of them.

    ::watches the faces of the audience::

    Even know Mog using Mog influence in Union to bring goods to Peltarch. Food, raw materials, and finest crafted gear in all of Narfell waiting to be delivered to Peltarch as soon as Peltarch says it ok. And Mog not going to sell to one group, Mog asking several groups to buy goods so then there better chances of citizens getting goods.

    ::nods to the crafters and tradesmen in the crowd::

    The crafters and tradesmen will have cheaper resources to sell and use. Merchants will have easy source of goods to line shelves. This means Merchants will have more goods left over to increase trade. Merchants will hire more people to work for them. Docks will be busier and then can be expanded. When Mog wagons come to Peltarch, every citizen will see the benefit. No longer will citizens have to eat turnip soup but be able to get nice chunck of venison. No longer will citizens freeze at night. Wood will be on way as well as finest winter wolf pelts in land.

    ::smiles at the crowd::

    Mog want every citizen vote, not for Mog but for citizens.

    Now, Mog know lots citizens belong to this guild or that. Mog not asking citizen vote against guild wishes, but if citizens agree with Mog. Mog ask citizens ask citizen guild leader come talk to Mog. Mog will listen and work with guilds.

    When guild ask why vote for Mog answer simple. Mog the only candidate that have not only military experience to make citizens safe, but also have the trading skills needed as well as the resources already in place to make promises happen. Peltarch need senator that will do more and talk less.

    This make the ideal candidate. Soldier, trader, craftsman, and most important Mog a Peltarchian.

  • Legion

    General Grag sends out the Legion women down to the docks to smile and wear their vote for Mog pins

  • Across town various bards are singing a new song and retelling stories from the civil war. Those questioned on the new song say it goes something like this:

    ((To be sung to the tune of “Help!” by the Beatles))

    In the Senate
    We all need somebody,
    In the Senate
    And not just anybody,
    Vote Mog
    When you need someone he’ll heeelp.

    In Peltarch’s past, in the days of yesterday
    We had troubles, civil war, poverty and decay
    But now these days are gone, and we need a new plan
    We need a new senate, and Mog, yes he’s your helpin’ hand

    He’ll help you, if your luck’s gone down
    He won’t be lazy, he’ll always be around
    He’ll help us get our feet back on solid ground
    Elect Mog, he’s the best Senate candidate around!

    And now Peltarch life is changing in so many ways
    Put your faith in Mog, he’ll lead us to better days
    Better trade, and Strong Defenders to make us so secure
    Commerce improvements, oh Mog is Peltarch’s Senatorial cure.

    He’ll help you, if your luck’s gone down
    He won’t be lazy, he’ll always be around
    He’ll help you get our feet back on solid ground
    Elect Mog, he’s the best Senate Candidate around!

    The bards seems to be singing it all about town no matter the qaurter.

    (Sera both PC and Npc Bards)

  • Dressed in a blacksmiths outfit Mog is seen, much to the great pleasure of the citizens, handing out cure potions and balms to the sick, elderly, wounded , and various soldiers. As he is doing so he is quietly inquiring about people's lives and what they see for the future.

  • Recently Mog is seen about much more upbeat and eagerly handing out the vote for Mog pins. Pwoplw are becoming moe and more friendly towards the senate candidate and is more and more often seen pleasantly chatting with passerbys. Of late he seems to be spending alot of time around the docks and merchants areas.

    " Mog think Peltarch needs less fancy words,and more getting hands dirty fixing problems"

  • Nico Black is seen walking beside Mog in the last few days. Mostly talking to him and seemingly giving him directions. He escorts him into several shops to speak to local merchants. Word spreads that Nico seemingly has an interest in Mog's campaign for Senate.

  • "Some oafish Legionnaire orc thinks he has business with law and legislation?" a young Pernicious Den 'Kath asks himself, pondering over the entire election affair. "Absurd."
