Whispers at the Fire

*Word has it that the Lathander priest, Janick was under the influence of something evil and during that time he had a small conversation with Maria. What they spoke about is yet unknown for Maria left the temple running, never to be seen ever again.
The most skilled trackers have failed to follow her tracks for there are none, some priests have tried to scry but the something even more powerfull blocks the scrying powers.
There are two adventurers who last seen Maria in the temple for they were in the temple when she left running, however very little they can say about what they´ve "seen" becouse they´ve lost eye sight once they steped into the temple, only to recover vision few hours later.
One thing is for sure though…. MAria is missing and her location unknown....*

Undead attack once more, a series of seemingly probing assaults thoughout the day and well into the night, to both the south and the north gate. The dawn's pale light illuminates a field littered with zombie corpses, and the simply massive carcass of a larger than normal patchwork giant, but a stone's throw from the gates - a chilling reminder of the terrors that await.
-
seriously wounded merchants arrive at Norwick. The guards rush to the North Gate to aid the wounded men and woman and ear what happend. According to the merchants, their trading caravan was attacked in the cross roads area by bandits that were hiden in the nearby woods.
Some adventurers risk a patrol to check what happend.

A panicky Elva chases down Ashena and pulls her aside
-
A scorched and bloodied party comes rushing through town, following a sleek black panther, also in ragged condition. They come to an abrupt halt by the south gates, where the noted arcanist Maria lies, pale, near unconscious.. and far, far more noticably pregnant than but a few days past. Maria is then seen being carried off to the temple of Lathander, but not leaving it. Ashena can often be spotted going to and from the temple in the coming days, a look of concern on her face.
-
More often that not, a certain Elf can be spotted only by very keen eyes keeping close look on Andrew's training. He never talks to him or approaches him while he's training, but whenever he goes back into town for a rest, he's probably the first one joining him for some laughs.
-
Andrew Brightdawn can be seen training every day even harder and longer than usual, lately.
Sparring and hitting dummies he have put on purpose on the ground near Norwick's south gate and outside Peltarch's walls.
His moves are more and more refined and swift, performed increasingly with efficiency and prowess, despite the heavy full plate he always wears, even during training. To those who ask him the motif of such hard training, he answers with vague phrases, such as getting ready for the incoming threats and battles,
but the slight smile and taunting attitude he displays makes clear there is something else behind his behaviour…

Two dwarves and a hin, all bloodied and badly wounded, were seen running towards South Gate late last night. Once inside, they slammed the gates shut and leaned down, breathing heavily. "Duergar by the Goblin Lake!" they were heard to say. "Four of em'. A wiggler, a priestess, an assassin, and one o' them damn arbelasters. We killed em' all, but barely. The last one chased us all the way to the Norwick ruins."
"They was helping the goblins fight" the hin said. "They was casting divine spells on em and makin em hit us harder." The hin was seen entering the Grapevine Inn, while the two dwarves made their way to the Hold to report to the Council. "We gotta' get an army and stop this threat now!" one said.

There were lots of things happening at Norwick's South Gate last night. It began innocently enough when a goblin soldier knocked on the gates and asked to speak to a magic man. The mage Sirion stepped forward, opened the gate, and began conversing with him while a half dozen or so others stood back and prepared for a possible assault. The goblin led Sirion to the south. Danika and Romulus slipped out of the gate in total darkness and crept after them, keeping a safe distance away, but close enough to tell what was happening.
Sirion was brought to the woodline well south of the gates and engaged in conversation by three goblins. It seems that one of their tribe was turned to stone by a cockatrice, and they wanted a mage's help in restoring him. Sirion explained that he did not have such a spell and disappeared. He, Danika, and Romulus all returned quietly to the gates and closed them.
Shortly afterwards, some goblins angered by Sirion's refusal began lobbing fire grenades at the closed gates. The defenders, including a large party that had recently returned from the crypts, opened the gates and killed the three goblins. More assaults soon followed. Hoards of small goblin runts, and later a cockatrice attacked and were cut down in front of the gates. The bodies piled so high that they attracted carrion beetles, slicer beetles, and hoards of flies.
Sirion used a massive firebrand spell to burn them up and destroy the flies. The defenders were given little rest, however. A bear appeared and began feasting on the bodies. When it tried to attack one of the defenders, it was killed. Packs of wolves followed, then wild dogs and more wolves, dire wolves, and worgs. The defenders, including Raryldor, Sirion, Ashena, Allestor, Andrew, Fafir, Danika, Romulus, and Mkable fougth them off. A druid of Malar was found near the south woodline. He was engaged and killed by Andrew and Raryldor.
Darkness fell again, but the howls of wolves were soon replaced by claps of lightning and the smell of undead. Hoards of swift skeletal dervishes, slow zombies, ghoul ravagers, and other denizens of the crypts came marching towards the gates. Fafir set off an increadibly impressive fireball in their midst which thinned their numbers and wounded others. Though sorely tested, especially by the fast skeleton dervishes, the defenders were again victorious.
Louder footsteps were heard, and more red lightning arched across the sky. It was similar to the red lighting that preceded the recent undead and fireball assaults on Peltarch's south gate and the Nars Crossroads. The defenders were forced to fight a large twisted Renderer, and then a collossal zombie made of fire. When these were finally defeated, a man appeared in the distance. Identifying himself as the Baron Locke, he warned the defenders not to help Kapolin'Sheezah, and said that any who did would be killed. Some remembered this Baron Locke as an Oscuran who scheemed to have the sacred sword of Lathander stolen from the temple and turned himself into a lich. He bragged that this undead attack was his doing, and his warning.
After the battle ended and the Baron disappeared, Romulus was seen scurrying around the battlefield collecting bones from the skeletons. Weighed down with a huge sack full of bones, he was heard to remark that these bones were for the Alchemist. The fight with that other lich-blade Fendon could not be forgotten.

*Rumour has it that during the night, an unusual darkness fell over Norwick´s South Gate area. Rumour has it that sinister voices were heard… whispering evil chants and praises to gods who´s names are best not spoken.... One thing is not a rumour though, the sorcerer named Maria was sitting by the fire when the strange darkness fell over that precise area and by the time the darkness faded away Maria was nowhere to be seen....
Few hours later, she was seen being carried in arms into the Inn, by a cloaked and hooded figure. The waitress was payed handsomely to allow Maria to have the best and most confortable sleep possible, she made sure no one disturbed Maria´s rest.
All those who from that day onward, see and/or speak with Maria, will notice she looks tired and almost always exhausted, she looks like she has lost some weight also, wich allied with her tired and exhausted appearence, will certainly lead one to think that she might be sick or afflicted by some sort of illness*

A vicious undead attack occurred not long ago, shadows descending upon the hard pressed and few defenders at the gate, followed by undead priests, skeletons, ghouls, and even a vampire. Though she was not present at the time, the Tormish knight Ashena takes it upon herself to spread word of the attack, reminding people that not only are Fendon's forces yet undefeated, but the bugbear truce too is nearly at an end. The time to act draws nigh.

_Word has it a large group of do-good adventurers came to young Emily's rescue - but a fraction too late. The sweet little girl was brought back to life right by the Norwick gates, however, stopping her parents heartache.
Less fortunate were an unknown adventurer and a bold dwarf by the name Conrad, the bodies of both also carried back with the party._
((I'm actually not sure if we RP'ed hauling Conrad back too, but the intent was to bring his body to the Dwarven Hold afterwards. I was just too tired to remember at the time, but consider it done at some point!))

Rumours say, a lonely and rather pale (almost trasparent) squire from the order up north is seen walking back and forth outside the southern gates. It seems she is searching for something.

@6f0cef9274=Labur:
Labur is seen at the Grapevine Inn sipping an ale staring off into the distance. He is deep in thought about something…or is it someone....
Two heavily armored Dwarfs of their names Balthor Threebraids and Gnarl Horst have been seen entering Norwick from the South gate. They shown evidence of being involved in battle with a ferocious beast as their shields and armor had claw marks and scrathces on it.
As they made their way through Norwick to reach to the Dwarven Hold, they kept looking at a large Stone (Rocks Softner Stone) that according to their belief, it had the properties of turning stone to flesh

A new face has been seen about town. A blonde, tan skinned, young half-Orc woman. Her size and intelligence seems to be all she inherited from her Orc side. By human standards, one may even go as far as saying she's a bit of a looker.
