Whispers at the Fire

@29b144a0e5=Karnivor:
Word that might spread from the latest Fight Night states that Aramuil narrowly outshone Dwin in the ranged contest. Strangely, neither were reported to have actually participated, but two Black Sails vehemently claim that the riveting outcome of the final depended solely on the inspiration given by these prominent Norwick figures.
Benji snickers hearing the rumors.

Upon seeing the note left by the gate, Caelian picks it up and reads it before crumpling it up and tossing it in the fire.
Chuckle ending in a feral snarl… Right then.
The sound of breaking bones are topped off with a howl as Caelian is replaced by a wolf with sandy red fur and green markings along it's shoulders bounding out of the gate towards the Glen.
-
Interestingly, the Malarite head placed near the Norwick gates has gone missing. Instead is a note that reads…
"Defile the dead again and I will seek you out personally."
-
Grunk says loudly at the fire Dem crazy humies be takesin…takesin Grunk in dis holey tin. We's smashin all dem deadies. Buh whens we's tryna git ouder dere, dese uhda humies be dere. Dese humies have HUGE swinging his arms out frantically to metaphorically portray the size bodies en deys got many legses. Grunk try en counts em...buh Grunk nah fast 'nuf.

The odd militia dwarf known as Stubs can be seen heading southward of norwick once ever couple of days, though what purpose this serves is anyone's guess.
-
Rumour makes it's way around the town about a giant spider at the south gates, bravely held off and defeated by some adventurers and Albryanna of the Red Cloaks, who valiantly gave her life to stop the menace.
-
"Driders!"
For some reason, even that shout didn't raise any eyebrows - it was just another slow day in Norwick it seems. Even fresh blueberry pie seemed of more interest to passing adventurers than sharing stories of such dreadful abominations as driders who were reportedly spotted in the graveyard area.

_A weary group of elves struggle into town one night. Among them Brendel is seen to have a meeting with an elven cleric; an old skull is seen to change hands, they then have a small service. Brendel heads out of town later the next day.
A few days later he returns, quietly spreading the word to those involved that their kin was laid to rest in a peaceful spot in the deep Rawlins_

Some local citizens noticed an elf heading to the inn.He seemed to go rest himself as he was in bad sitution. They said he was covered in blood and merely noticing, almost ignoring those around him.More rumours are said to be the same person that was asking about a human a few days ago…
-
A new face is in town. The notoriety is granted to him because of his expensive outfit as he walks and fights in the Rawlinswood with heavy armor, a nice shield and a velvet and fur cape. He has taken several groups of inexperienced adventurers into the Rawlinswood and all return unscathed.

Rumor quickly spreads of strange happenings with Albryanna. It is said she was demanding rings from every half-orc that entered town. One such orc happened to be Sergeant Grog of the Legion. Grag, having been informed of this, stormed into Norwick demanding the rings back. Albry refused, claiming they were her orders. When asked who the orders were given by, she simply replied “Him”. Her exotic behavior grew curiosity in the surrounding citizens. Through arcane magic it was determined that Albry was not in complete control of herself, her mind enspelled by the awoken spirit in the Norwick crypts. Being surrounded and interrogated, her behavior grew hostile to the point of taking Benji hostage and putting a knife to his throat. Actions were quickly taken to dispel Albry of her domination. She was last seen being taken to Kia in the apothecary, and it was reported she had been returned to her normal state.
-
Troff Legion has been seen leading regular patrols to the small norwick crypt, apparently looking for someone or something.

Dwin and the Armorsmith apprentice Lucius are seen returning to town from someplace south. Both seem a bit beat up, and an odd greenish-stain can be seen on various parts of their armor.
Dwin seems somewhat amused as he tells the tale at the fire.
_I took the lad west t'wards the Goblin cave so that we could survey the veins and maybe bring back some quality ore.The usual numbers of goblins seemed light… same with the beetles. And there was a reason... Waitin' at the entrance to the cave was a giant blob o green!
Ya could tell it had been feastin on greenskin and beetles, because it was a giant clear cube and you could see the rottin goblins inside it... along with anything else it seemed to pick up in its path.
Its guardin that cave entrance... and who knows how big it is! It could be we just saw the very tip, and the rest of it is suckin the life outta every greenskin in the cave! Or, it could simply be the guard, while others like it are scourin the cave of all its putrid inhabitants!
If anyone knows how we can get somethin like this at OUR south gates, I will pay ya a rich reward! Who needs gates with one o these blobby-cubes in the way?!?_
((the cube is still there, blocking access to the cave. I believe in the meantime it has been blocked off with boulders. should you wish to meet "eggbert" please contact DMotivator directly))

Late into the night, Albryanna is seen heading south, steering towards the graveyard. Disappearing into the crypts, she is not seen for several hours. As the light of dawn creeps over the hilltops, the gate-guards relax with relief as their Colonel returns to Norwick with hardly a scratch on her. However, Albry does not appear to be herself lately. She is rarely seen performing her morning inspections of the town, and instead spends the majority of her time traveling between Peltarch and Norwick, and sometimes as bold as to venture into Oscura (any who know her well enough know this is indeed unnatural for her). Where ever she travels, a strange glint is in her eyes, determination surrounding her. It seems she is searching for something or someone…

Caelian can be seen gathering strong wood and heavy cloth cloaks before heading into the Rawlinswood. Whatever he has planned, he seems to be very happy with himself, as he is smiling the entire time.
-
An elf stayed in the inn some days ago, asking information about a human wearing an amulet with the crescent moon carved on it.He seemed to be very serious about that and even came to fight in dirty words with a local human citizen who ironically made fun of the symbol
-
In stranger news, the smelly old dwarf known as Stubs can be seen hauling several large stone contraptions with him as he heads out the southern gates of Norwick. What these things are for, or what craziness Stubs is up to is anybodies guess, but most steer themselves clear, whether for sanity or sense of smell's sake!

Rumours circulate around the week that Telli's been on edge ever since getting her ill-omen from Caelian. This weeks however is a different story, Telli can be seen waddling around town with a bunch of Forget-me-nots in her hands uttering the following to anyone willing to listen.
"Was ridings ta Peltarchs and dis shaft a lights came screamings downs ta da groundededs…and and and... dens dese forget-me-nots juss startedededs ta grow froms da ground in a matta a seconds... Tink... Chauntea try tell Telli sometings... mebbe everyting be alright..."

The druid Adriell is seen making rounds from the north of town to the far south, a few reports placing her in bugbear territory. She speaks of little to the people of Norwick, but offers a hand if there is need.
Commonly she is seen with the elf, Aranwe, her moods ranging from happy to all too serious.
