Tavern Rumors of Peltarch

  • A wild story flies around about a Hill Giant tippy-toeing through the Peltarch Commons, some versions of the same story claim at the Giant was going to the Mermaid for some of the house brew, Elidur Ginen's version of the story seems to tell a mixture of both tales, with the inclusion of himself acting as a hero for the city, and scaring the large brute off with as swish of his sword!

There's no doubt about it, however. A Hill Giant running through the streets - whatever next?!

  • The rumor spreads that there was some conflict in the commons between Meye Spark, Grak and Hammerhand. As a result of the clash, unconscious half-orc Grak was seen to be carried into the jail by Adelie and Lisa

  • Rumor has it, acting like a know-it-all ass and interfering in city officials work constantly, may not be appreciated by some city officials.

Rumor has it that quoting from the list of city ordinances in front of Defenders is now a crime punishable by… well, threats to make peoples' lives miserable when they are in the city. Sounds like corruption. It is also rumored that 'filthy' Oscurans are not wanted in Oscura and are frequently told they should go back to their 'tyrant ridden city.'

  • Wielding a tray of saffron and raisin buns, Perriwig seeks out the (slightly besmirched) elf, Elidur, pressing the thigh-plumping pile of toothsome treats on him.

  • The rumours of Elidur being attacked are refreshed by claims that the bard had been seen entering the guard house, unescorted. Some might wonder if 'mad' Elidur is handing himself in, others are perhaps - still not interested.

  • rumor spreads a bit that wherever inside the city of peltarch someone speaks bad about Elidur, Raúl steps out from the shadow to give them a hard look and telling them to stop talking trash about his friend

When Raman hears of Elidrus chase throught the streets he just says "I wish they would have caught him". He curses the "mad" Elidur and walks away…

  • A rumor spreads around the city that Rath Ashald has been seen waving his manhood from a window somewhere in peltarch's residential district

  • Perhaps nobody bothered to report it, or perhaps nobody cared - even as Elidur fled through the streets of Peltarch, clearly being chased by Hammerhand weilding his halberd, and a strange woman who Elidur says is actually a guard from Norwick. As the two men ran down the main market street, it seems the warrior of Tempus shot at Elidur with his longow - with critical success, still no guards came. When neither of them emerged from the alley it seemed to not raise enough suspsicion or alarm, even when the local bard cried out for help. And despite going directly to Lisa there has still been no formal action. Are people talking about it, it doesn't seem so. Is there any justice for the bard? Not really.

But Elidur survives, apparently. At least in body - although it's evident of late that his spirit is a little damp, if not totally crushed.

Benji sprints all around the city asking every bard he sees what they can tell him about lutes.

    @5b4c8a4cd6=Karnivor:

Rumour has it that Black Sails captain Sabre has an identical twin - or doppelganger according to some, suspicions being raised by the somewhat strange mannerisms of the other, and the fact that their taste in clothing is remarkably similar. Sabre herself claimed that her sister is "special", soon leading the other off towards the docks and away from public gawking.

    Grak lets out a snort

"Dis bes outrage, how dem town guards nay question such? Or is huuumie mind so short dat nay remembers whut happends ta da small-town shortly after such dopl..dodd..dolp….. twins starteds ta appear, eh? Apparentlys theys bes snooping city defences und militia patrol routes.

Blessed bes strong gods, dat Grak nay lives ere. Soon everyone gots dem twin as they bes slowly taking over!"

  • Drelan can be heard grunting as he hears rumors of a temple of Valkur being built in the city. ".. and there goes the trade.. talk about asking for a woman's scorn.." he then walks off to the docks looking in deep thought

  • It seems that for a full day and night, a lone Kelemvorite… some know him as Kosef... was seen ferrying at least twenty dead Highholders from the smugglers cave near Peltarch to the ruined tower just south of Peltarch, burying each man and woman in their own grave. He then offers a prayer to Kelemvor so that they all may be judged and watched by the Lord of the dead.

  • Beware of Hats!

A recent incident at the Peltarch commons might have citizens turning suspicious or even fearful glances towards large and colourful wizardly headgear, as rumour has it one such hat came flying through the air on it's own accord. From this magickful hat of wonder sprang not rabbits, but something rather more sinister as three cockatrices leapt out to turn their eery petrification gazes upon city employees Lisa, Lycka and Raul. The leering birds are reportedly slain, but the mysterious hat is still at large.

  • Quite in contrast to the rumours of undead and monsterous slaadi is the recent sighting of Black Sails captain Sabre Seesaw, normally ever attired in sleek black, wearing something decidedly different whilst skipping, yes, skipping around the commons with an expression as dark as her outfit is white and frothy. Petite pink suade shoes dance softly against the ground, while a very short, very frilly pink and white skirt flounces with each step, in touching concert with the sailor's decidedly false blonde corkscrew curls, fastened into two adorable pigtails. A polkadot bandana and tiny white lace gloves complete the Cute an' Sexy Lil' Shepardess Outfit, possibly (though not probably) the next big hit at the Wilting Flower Shoppe.

  • Rumour has it the foothills recently saw a large-scale eruption of slaadi in a wide range of colours, all vicious and bent on destruction as their slimy kind are prone to be. The frog infestation was reputedly dealt with by Defender Aelthas, Cerulean Knights Lycka and Celebring, first aid specialist Sera and the merry priest of Glittergold, Rubo. After further investigation by a latter party, it seems the finger of blame lies on orcish spellcasters.

  • _One dark frosty night, all across the city, soldiers of wars long and not so long past rose from the ground, mindlessly attacking all those around them. Undead N'Jasti, Renegades of High Hold, Peltarch Defenders and even some of the fearsome Black Dragon Knights roamed the streets of the city, fully intent on delivering death anew to the citizens of the Jewel.

In the commerce district, the threat was quickly dealt with by the combined forces of city guards, Defenders and adventurers present, while the residential district saw a similarily swift and assertive swoop of the famed Archangel division, well suited to combating such foes.

As so often seems the case, the situation was most dire in the docks district, where the hardened Ignismon vet had a tough fight on their hands before pinning the undead hordes into the western part of the district. It is said the Ignismon captain Benthur was singing throughout the fight, his well-known hatred against undead in combination with Selunite eccentricity perhaps explaining the cheery battle chant of: "Smash 'em good, smash 'em good, the cap'n says smash 'em up good!"

With the aid of able adventurers and additional city forces, the docks were cleared and the undead put to rest, hopefully for good this time. While the pyres were lit in the docks, Cerulean Knight Lycka could be seen carrying the sole casualty of the fighting off to the temple - the Temposian known as Hammerhand._

  • In a case that has the docks talking, a young cleric who had just arrived in Peltarch burst into flame and burned to death almost the second he walked down the gangway. No mage or other fire-throwing type was seen. Local theories range from crazed Red Wizards to rogue fire elementals to the Insidious Doktor Zorn.
