Defenders bullying travellers
_Peltarch gate-guards, commoners and trader caravans witness and odd scene at the Peltarch Gate.Small group of half-orcs in Iron Chain Clan -colors were spending their time near the small hill right outside the outer gates. They were talking in orcish and were apparently in middle of dividing a small amount of coins among themselves.
Then for apparently no reason, Peltarch Defender known as Aelthas came fully armored and armed to issue threats or "facts" about well being of group apparent leader, Grak. Party kept asking about the reason for being pestered and bullied, but apparently such was never given.
This bullying Defender then continued its way toward goblin infested swamp.
Passerbys saw and heard Grak going toward gate guards to ask was this truly the job that Defenders are hired to do? How such actions were tolerated and why Grak and his party were treated like criminals. He also asked that who protects travellers and traders from such bullying defenders._

Spontaneous Combustion
_Just inside the commons, a bearded man burst into flames - for no apparent reason. Wagging tongues might claim it was a cruel twist like Beshaba would do, or maybe it was the kindness of Tymora - first letting the man win a big price which he seemed more than ready to share with his fellow citizens and then causing flames from some horrible hell to spring up and devour the man body and soul.
And even while foul play of the divine sort seems the most likely culprit, there's no 'eye-witnesses' to support that it was a more easily believable lightning bolt sent by Talos himself. Was it just a freak accident? Had the man given offence to Kossuth? Or was it a complex, and thoroughly planned murder? And what have orphans and the temple to gain by such a vile deed?_

A tall woman in fullplate asks around if someone recently had lost a crossbow and lets it be known that her name is Nora and that she wants to give it back to its owner. Further she says she will only hand it over if the one who claims it can say around where it was lost and give a detailed description of it.
"Wog quickly seeks Nora out"

The recent auction at the Peltarch market is reported to have been a well-attended affair, with large amounts of gold and items switching hands, and very few disturbances on the whole. Aside from a loud and argumentative Kelemvorite, the only real snag in the smoothly run auction came towards the end, when a fireball suddenly struck the crowd from the hands of a gnomish miscreant in white and purple robes. The gnome swiftly fled the scene, but a party of Peltarch employees, Legionaires and volunteers later set out a search party, returning with a few cuts and scrapes and a story of successfully vanquishing the vicious gnomes from a nearby cave.

Senator Calen was given a note by the south gate guard. Shortly thereafter, he was seen following the guard in a state of high aggitation and worry.
-
Senator Ashwynd was seen talking to some guards and then to the waitresses and finally Katarina in the Mermaid. He left word that he would be in his room and no where else, then repacked his things and readied them by the door before closing and locking it.
-
Half-orc Sgruud is still spending lots of time in docks, feeding people and offering entertainment with arcane tricks. In addition to food, he has also started providing handmade boots and gloves for the tent city orphans.
-
_For any willing to listen, the Damaran Kelemvorite known as Kosef tells people of an odd occurrence at the southern gate of Peltarch. According to what he says, a Tymoran adventuring group consisting of a minotaur, a bugbear, an elf and a human showed up at the south gate asking if they were allowed free passage around the city.
Kosef, despite any objections, seems quite sure in that they aren't a bad lot._

_"N'Jast have returned, war is upon us!" Despite such wild claims and fervant insistance of truthfulness from people seeing N'Jast soldiers in the burning, war-ravaged ruins of the city at night, when morning comes, all is calm. The rebuilt buildings of Peltarch stand tall and unscathed in the early morning sunshine, and the only soldiers moving about are the green-clad Defenders of the Jewel itself.
Rumour speaks of dark necromancy at work, and angry N'Jasti ghosts haunting the city, seeking revenge or reliving the war itself. A large group of adventurers and city employees reportedly headed down into the sewers the day after the attack, which seems to have put a halt to the following night's hauntings. Whatever the true nature of the ghosts are, they are far from harmless, and citizens are adviced to stay indoors if the phenomenon should occur again._

_Those in the Peltarch smithing hall were audience to a very respectful and sudden meeting between dwarves. Heffa and a dark armored dwarf who was about to make a chain shirt, met at the anvil.
Heffa, the guild leader for the stonemasons and Foilir Dolvak, spoke in dwarven for what seemed like hours. The conversation so important that the dark dwarf held up his hammer at his customer's insistence that she was in a hurry. Clearly the armor could wait, as this conversation was very important.
The dwarf ended the conversation by bowing respectfully to Heffa, and handing him a stash of his personally brewed ales.
Foilir then noticed that his customer had gone, but his mind clearly elsewhere, he wasted the few ingots he had attempting to make a simple shirt.
He quickly returned the coins and potions that were bartered for the shirt back to his shop at the West Gate, a smile forming on his face.
His good mood does not stop him from responding to some foolish propaganda regarding the "Legion" and their history. Instead he tosses back a basic comment, but his mood is too good to stop and argue the obvious.
Back in his shop the door is locked and a quiet, but clearly celebratory conversation with Nor, his cousin and shopkeep, can be heard.
Some old dwarven songs are sung and ales are drunk._

While it's hardly unexpected or particularily note-worthy news to the populace at large, friends of Aelthas and Lycka will soon learn of the birth of the couple's fourth child, by all accounts a healthy baby boy, as white-haired as his bardic mother.
-
Black haired half-orc spellsword Sgruud has been lately often seen in the tent city, having a fire set up and providing some cooked meat for free for those who join his company. He also provides some amusement for the children, and interested grown ups, with some minor magical tricks.
-
The short elf known as Eli, Elilian and other various nicknames was seen leaving Peltarch with her two children, taking the boat to Norwick. Some say she'll never step foot in Peltarch again for unkown reasons.
-
A tough Damaran, a servant of Kelemvor, is seen frequenting many inns, drinking and warning travellers.
"Careful of that lot in Norwick, if you get sent to prison, they call undead on you. Farkers, ask that mage Arlinn if you don't beleive me. Kelemvor will strike them all down for such farking shite."
-
_Strange whipers circulate around the city, it seems there is a huge party going on, but nobody seems to be able to find it.
One thing is for sure, empty ale bottles and Steins have been finding their way onto the streets…and even a drunken reveller can be found at times passed out in the shadows..._

@b5ab2ad374=Caoimh:
After much heated debate at a rather tense meeting of the Senate, surrounded by rumours that prominent Norwickian militiaman Devlin was facing banishment, the outcome appears to have narrowly emerged in his favour, with the casting vote of the Elder Senator being needed to break a deadlock. Good news for Devlin, a setback for those who would see him banished.
Devlin simply smiles and wags his brow once, as he hears the news, and turns on his heels with a whip of his cloak. He is seen exiting the city with a little bit of bounce to his step, but remains silent and modest.
-
_A most unusual occurance, at least, unusual for its timing, has come about in Peltarch.
Snow, not seen in the realm for many a year was falling in the Commons, and in the middle of Summer no less!
Those present did not worry themselves with questions as to why, preferring instead to enjoy themselves and take the time from their lives to unwind a bit with this most marvellous spectacle._
-
Adrian on his part does not seem pleased with the decision at all, and even less so with the manner in which Senator Ashald broke the tie. It seems that Ashald based his decision on the flip of a coin.
