Tavern Rumors of Peltarch

  • _For any willing to listen, the Damaran Kelemvorite known as Kosef tells people of an odd occurrence at the southern gate of Peltarch. According to what he says, a Tymoran adventuring group consisting of a minotaur, a bugbear, an elf and a human showed up at the south gate asking if they were allowed free passage around the city.

Kosef, despite any objections, seems quite sure in that they aren't a bad lot._

  • _"N'Jast have returned, war is upon us!" Despite such wild claims and fervant insistance of truthfulness from people seeing N'Jast soldiers in the burning, war-ravaged ruins of the city at night, when morning comes, all is calm. The rebuilt buildings of Peltarch stand tall and unscathed in the early morning sunshine, and the only soldiers moving about are the green-clad Defenders of the Jewel itself.

Rumour speaks of dark necromancy at work, and angry N'Jasti ghosts haunting the city, seeking revenge or reliving the war itself. A large group of adventurers and city employees reportedly headed down into the sewers the day after the attack, which seems to have put a halt to the following night's hauntings. Whatever the true nature of the ghosts are, they are far from harmless, and citizens are adviced to stay indoors if the phenomenon should occur again._

  • _Those in the Peltarch smithing hall were audience to a very respectful and sudden meeting between dwarves. Heffa and a dark armored dwarf who was about to make a chain shirt, met at the anvil.

Heffa, the guild leader for the stonemasons and Foilir Dolvak, spoke in dwarven for what seemed like hours. The conversation so important that the dark dwarf held up his hammer at his customer's insistence that she was in a hurry. Clearly the armor could wait, as this conversation was very important.

The dwarf ended the conversation by bowing respectfully to Heffa, and handing him a stash of his personally brewed ales.

Foilir then noticed that his customer had gone, but his mind clearly elsewhere, he wasted the few ingots he had attempting to make a simple shirt.

He quickly returned the coins and potions that were bartered for the shirt back to his shop at the West Gate, a smile forming on his face.

His good mood does not stop him from responding to some foolish propaganda regarding the "Legion" and their history. Instead he tosses back a basic comment, but his mood is too good to stop and argue the obvious.

Back in his shop the door is locked and a quiet, but clearly celebratory conversation with Nor, his cousin and shopkeep, can be heard.

Some old dwarven songs are sung and ales are drunk._

  • While it's hardly unexpected or particularily note-worthy news to the populace at large, friends of Aelthas and Lycka will soon learn of the birth of the couple's fourth child, by all accounts a healthy baby boy, as white-haired as his bardic mother.

  • Black haired half-orc spellsword Sgruud has been lately often seen in the tent city, having a fire set up and providing some cooked meat for free for those who join his company. He also provides some amusement for the children, and interested grown ups, with some minor magical tricks.

  • The short elf known as Eli, Elilian and other various nicknames was seen leaving Peltarch with her two children, taking the boat to Norwick. Some say she'll never step foot in Peltarch again for unkown reasons.

  • A tough Damaran, a servant of Kelemvor, is seen frequenting many inns, drinking and warning travellers.

"Careful of that lot in Norwick, if you get sent to prison, they call undead on you. Farkers, ask that mage Arlinn if you don't beleive me. Kelemvor will strike them all down for such farking shite."

  • ICC

_Strange whipers circulate around the city, it seems there is a huge party going on, but nobody seems to be able to find it.

One thing is for sure, empty ale bottles and Steins have been finding their way onto the streets…and even a drunken reveller can be found at times passed out in the shadows..._

  • @b5ab2ad374=Caoimh:

After much heated debate at a rather tense meeting of the Senate, surrounded by rumours that prominent Norwickian militiaman Devlin was facing banishment, the outcome appears to have narrowly emerged in his favour, with the casting vote of the Elder Senator being needed to break a deadlock. Good news for Devlin, a setback for those who would see him banished.

Devlin simply smiles and wags his brow once, as he hears the news, and turns on his heels with a whip of his cloak. He is seen exiting the city with a little bit of bounce to his step, but remains silent and modest.

  • _A most unusual occurance, at least, unusual for its timing, has come about in Peltarch.

Snow, not seen in the realm for many a year was falling in the Commons, and in the middle of Summer no less!

Those present did not worry themselves with questions as to why, preferring instead to enjoy themselves and take the time from their lives to unwind a bit with this most marvellous spectacle._

  • Adrian on his part does not seem pleased with the decision at all, and even less so with the manner in which Senator Ashald broke the tie. It seems that Ashald based his decision on the flip of a coin.

  • _Another perilous day for the plain folk of Peltarch as unforeseen (and mildly bizarre) threats to life, limb and emotional stability erupted from the Icelace and the thin air. Gastrognome and gobsworth, Perriwig P. Doubleday, spends his afternoon gossiping over scones about how the Docks were awash with smallish scaled invaders - a cohort of skilled adventurers putting the questing reptiles to the chopping block, with prejudice extreme.

No time to rest, however, for our civil slaughterers. Retiring to the Commons, a familiar sonic boom heralded the swivel eyed arcane strumpet Leanna. Crying the wizarding equivalent to a "view halloo", the blue clad quarry dragged in her wake a swarm of vast, poisonfanged serpents from the ether, with a sweet tooth for adventurer's flesh. What with the commoners beating hasty retreats at the hostile slitherers, none were laid low by vile poison - and what injuries there were among the small gathering of adventurers were hastily restored by the divines on hand.

Lesson to the wise in Peltarch: stay inside this winter. And spring. Summer too. Oh, and don't forget the Autumn…_

  • A blonde women seems to be sat in Ashald park alot recently, often looking like she is frozen apart from the slight movment of her lips.. She seems harmless but people avoid her just in case she has escaped from an asylm, it is unsure of what shes doing but every now and then a flicker can be seen near her. is it imagination? or something in the corner of citzens eyes? or something else?

  • Senator Ronan Redralen has been seen with a stressed look about him. The usually cheery sorcerer walks about, running his hand through his hair, or walking quick-paced about the city, as if in a hurry. Quite unusual behavior for him.

  • _Rumour has it that a giant brown bear attacked a caravan on its way to the city. Several adventurers were seen heading that direction afterwards, and returning several hours later with some goods and two bags dripping with blood.

A small hin dressed in green was then seen making her way to the Temple of the Triad with the goods, and leaving the Temple empty handed.

The blood filled bags were taken to the crematorium._

  • As some may have noticed, lately Merial and Benji had been fairly distant, to the point where when near each other, they hardly acknowledged it. Finally, after secluding herself in the Valley for more than a week, Merial was seen traveling to Peltarch where she found Benji and took him to the commons where they talked for several hours. Some may have heard Benji offer Merial a drink, and with an expression mixed of sadness, fear, and nervousness, she accept the offer. They disappeared into the Mermaid for several more hours, and when they returned, they both wore relieved and happy smiles, Benji leading Merial off towards the Legion hall hand-in-hand. It would seem the little couple have finally made up

  • _A recent disturbance in the Docks district has lead to a small residential house being sealed off by the guard, it's windowpanes smeared with blood on the inside. Rumours speak of terrible screaming from inside, the investigating guards retreating with grievous wounds before Captain Fortesque himself entered the house, flanked by Cerulean Knight Lycka and Oghman priest Terren. Whatever evil lurked inside, the trio seems to have dealt with swiftly, stepping back outside with grim expressions.

Furthermore, tragedy seems to have struck one of the staff at the Mermaid, the more sinister of rumours claiming the woman in question was brutally mutilated and delivered to the inn in bloodied chunks. Whatever the truth may be, there is no doubt that the incident has left the remaining staff rattled._

  • _Marie has been seen going to visit Benji, bringing him paper and charcoal so that he can continue to work on plans whilst imprisoned.

Gotta give a gnome… err... hin something to do, right?_

  • Legion

_Benji finds himself in jail after playing a prank on Devlin of the Norwick Militia. Rumor has it the charge is a lesser assault charge for use of a 'Gnomish Pranking Device.'

Benji seems to be in good spirits as he receives a few visitors.

Rumor has it he's even in the market for another set of Gnomish Hand Zappers or any equally funny gnomish gag._
