Jiyyd Rumors

Word around the fire is that a group got their butts kicked by a shard of a thorn and a bunch of shadows. It seems unlikely that giant thorn bushes had anything to do with the matter, but then there's talk of a half orc that only lived through a brush with a deer because of passing adventurer's… so who knows.

Maya is seen in front of the sisterhood, dressed in full battle garb. Her armor is polished, leathers cleaned, and hair washed to a shine. With her are the children of the Sisterhood
She doesn’t bow her head in prayer, but instead stares up into the sky, arms spread wide in supplication to Tempus…
…and sings.
Maya is no bard. Her voice is somewhat off key at times, and mistakes are occasionally made. But her voice rings strong across the long road, into Jiyyd, and on this cool crisp morning might make it to the valley.
The song, in Uthgardt, is the only one she knows of its kind. A ballad of two people in a village, who die to protect their only child, and who one days grows up to lead his people, and honor the sacrifice his parents made.
The ballad is long. Some of the children join in when they remember. A few, like Yana, remember the verses Maya taught and join her in chorus. Towards the end, as the refrain is repeated, more and more of the voices join.
Finally, when the ballad is over, each of the children lay one flower, one for each life he saved, onto the spot where Chet died. Each returns quietly into the Sisterhood.
Maya stares at the spot for a moment, her face contorted with mix of pride and loss, before she too goes inside.

Afterwards Theaon was seen speaking to Just'ene about a possible trial, those nearby may have heard the name "Ugluk" muttered.

_It seems that not only women have an effect on men, as one day, aging mage Attentus makes his way into town, accompanied by three young women. They cluster about the charismatic sorceror and the small group sets off for a quiet stroll into the muddy bog that Jiyyd calls a swamp. When they return in smaller groups, they bear ill news, though. Claiming that they were there to look for trolls, or at least kill the food supply of the trolls, they mention they found orcs hidden away in a cave in the swamp. As prove of this they bear barbed axes and awful looking leather armors that still stink of their previous owners.
One of the young women can be heard to comment:_
"Oh, Attentus was like so great! You see, there was this place in the cave where the orcs were like holding some dark ritual. Like praying to their evil gods or stuff and they had like piles of human skulls! That's sooo bad! Anyway, there were like really lots there, but Attentus just waved his hands and then they like all burned and screamed and it was like they were in the hell already where they should be like proper!"

Villagers outside the eastern walls of Jiyyd reported recent sitings of frost goblin scouts venturing close to town, and the farmers witnessed a group of mixed adventurers routing these goblins back towards old Ormpur's ruins.
Thereafter, apparently reinforced with some legion folk, the adventurers which included Norwickians and Silver Valley citizens, pushed forward, driving said frosty goblins back into the mountains whence they came.
On an unrelated note, townspeople about Jiyyd noted the charismatic woman General and councilperson of Jiyyd, Lyte, walking out of town westward in a very fancy, and revealing blue gown.
Those manfolk of the village who stared at her exit dropped their various
ale mugs and smoke-pipes at the rare sighting, only to be bludgeoned about their heads by their various wives and girlfriends with pots and butter churns to return their attentions where they ought to be.No serious injuries were reported.

The town is abuzz…demons attacked Jiyyd late one night; rumour says they followed Aramuil Holimion, Thorn, Lilia the Pixie and the man known as "Griff". Though others say they simply happened to show up at the time; the daemonic force was relatively small, however, and was easily defeated.

_A black faced-half orc in a cheap green cloak is wanted in connection with the murders of Farmer Biswan and another (as yet unidentified) local of Jiyyd.
A badly wounded halfer believed to be him was seen shortly after, wearing a stag helm, running into Norwick from the north._

During the latest evening of trouble with "The Night" the man rumored to be behind the attacks on Legionnaires, several of them were set upon, and then met up with by a local druid with red hair.
At some point, the western gate leading to Jiyyd was barred somehow, and despite two fireballs beign thrown at it, held fast.
That is, until that red haired druid fella called a tremendous bolt of lightning down on it, and blew it to pieces.
No word yet on whether the town will charge him for the expense….

After a long quiet season of no interesting rumours, the Regal Whore is finally abuzz with talk of Rubo, Caric, Ah'Ria and Lowys discovering a den of undead and Cyricists in a cave close to Jiyyd. The adventuring quartet killed the threat and re-apportioned the spoils.
-
_After hearing about the drow, General Theaon can be seen ordering some Legion troops to stand guard near the swamp entrance over the next few days.
"Keep alert troops, these bastards tend to pop up just about anywhere."_

Rumors fly around Jyiid that several Drow warriors have been seen in the swamp. It was witnessed by a group of adventurers that wen to rescue a fallen adventurer, but not only they found the body of the fallen one but few hours later they also came across agroup of heavly armed Drow. before the obvious number inferiority, the group of brave men and woman had to retreat to jyiid and stood fast by the swamp entrance.

_As the darkness of the previous night begins to lift, a figure can be seen on the southern hill overlooking the town, with a loose shirt, simple cloth breeches and a hand and a half sword in her hand. As the morning moves on, the red headed woman continues her training regime with the large looking sword ; ducking, dodging and weaving an intricate dance of death against the imaginary training foes.
Only when the sun rises fully into the morning sky, does she stop and then subsequently retire to the campfire nearby to offer morning prayers.
Whatever the cause, the woman appears to be quite relaxed afterwards._
