Whispers at the Fire

  • (( dammit! there goes our musician!))

  • The red cloaked, bare chested, Akanaxan warrior Andreas was seen once again entering into the town of Norwick. Upon hearing that Wizard Lucidious was no longer chancellor, and who was now in that seat, he abruptly strode northward, uttering a curse of Assuran as he left

  • *The Chancellor is seen walking back into town from the north with a large, person-sized bundle over his shoulder. A few cuts and scrapes on him, but the sack is leaking something decidedly dark and morose.

After taking the sack into the Great Hall, he comes out later, a bit fresher and certainly beard-combed. He meets with the recently-returned guards and gives them each a bottle of ale, a small sack of coins, and a hearty pat on the back before searching for his recently promoted Senior Advisor Arcane.*

  • Several guards who's bodies were recently returned to the apothecary are now back on their feet. They have been confined to the upper floor where they can be watched for a time by Tristina and Kia, just until they are well enough to take up their duties once more.

  • @c8ef62d3d3=Dorakhan:

Nor Dolvak is seen heading south for Norwick with a small mercenary escort.

When Nor arrives at norwick's borders two Redcloaks from the north hold escort him directly to the Great Hall of Norwick to meet with Lord Dwin.

  • Calendel can be seen off an on around town following the recovery of the bodies looking rather worn out.

  • A patrol of Redcloaks lead by Davos scours eastern norwick in search of bodies after the recent winged demon attack. Another group of Redcloaks lead by Chet searches the south. At the end of the day, almost a dozen dead are recovered. The bodies are all taken to the Apothecary for revival.

  • _After the release of the Peltarch criminal Dentin Strauss from Norwick's judicial system, the ex-con leaves and heads north out of town.

Afterwards, Dwin is seen twirling an iron gear-symbol on a strap of leather while walking around town.

Rumor has it that Dentin, unable to immediately pay his fine, handed over his Gond holy symbol pendant instead as collateral._

  • Norwick was attacked by flying demons last night, and at least two people were abducted - Belinda and Rupert. Belinda was recovered from the graveyard, but Rupert is still missing.

  • Rumor spreads about the campfire of Demons challenging people from Norwick to battle. When they refused the Demon stated that their kind was already among them, after the killing of the demon. There was a house to house search east of Norwick, which lead to the uncovering of more then one Demon spawn. Although there wasn’t many casualties there was a bonfire where the Demon’s scarified some of the farmers and miners. One wizard stated it smelling like roasted pork cooking…..

  • ICC

A certain dwarf in Peltarch Standard plate has been seen entering and exiting the Great Hall.

  • The locals can't help but gossip that Cherry Amalith, Aramuil Holimion's beautiful consort, was seen with a brilliant diamond ring on the ring finger of her left hand after Aramuil and Cherry returned from a picnic; it appears Norwick's Advisor Arcane is engaged to be wed.

  • Indeed, it seems that Dwin will be getting an early present this year, from the hands of the Banites no less.

  • Wanted man Dentin Strauss was delivered to Norwick in a burlap sack by a couple banites, Cyrian arrived to accept the so called gift as he was returning from the gypsy camp. Dentin now rests in Prison.

  • _Spotted near the fire was the Senator from Peltarch and the Chancellor of Norwick, deep in conversation. Those close enough could hear the senator speaking of misunderstandings, palladins not writing well, and a second letter.

The Lord Chancellor was said to have stood his ground (perhaps a bit too stubbornly) to someone as important as the Lady Senator from Peltarch.

It appeared as though the left on friendly terms with a sincere-looking handshake._

  • Senator Senella pays a visit to Norwick not long after and spends some time chatting with old friends and generally being cheerful. When questioned on the contents of the letter she merely replies that its likely all just a misunderstanding and that once the good Chancellor and her sit down it will be easily sorted out.

  • Maythor wanders over to see what there doing.

  • Council of Moradin

Farly stands at Dwin's side just shaking his head.

  • Lord Dolvak and several of his advisers emerge from the Great Hall chuckling a bit. Dwin holds a letter outstretched in his hand like someone might hold a soiled diaper.

he approaches the fire and speaks, loud enough for all to hear:

Guards! Should any of you be lucky enough to spot some wayward tarts on their way from Peltarch, let me know. It seems that we are about to be visited by some of their divine magistrates!

He clears his throat and reads from the letter, pausing occasionally.

    @35e4640f48:

To the Honorable Lord Dolvak of Norwick,

We have been informed that the Realm of Norwick is harboring the fugitives Rando Di'Ran and Chaevre Vaelen. These individuals have been convicted of serious crimes by the town of Peltarch.

It is our official position that any individual, group, or political entity that harbors enemies of Peltarch commits an act of war against Peltarch. You may consider this letter your full and final warning.

Dwin stops and looks around before continuing

    @35e4640f48:

Magistrates or their agents will arrive in due course to collect the prisoners. We expect that you will cooperate fully with them in the execution of their duty so that this unfortunate situation may be brought to a swift and peaceful conclusion.

    Justice Prevails.

The Senate and People of Peltarch

Dwin folds the letter and continues to hold it at a distance.

Didn't even have the decency to put their name on it! Can ya imagine! Declarin' WAR and not even havin he ingots to put yer name on the letter! Bah!

Let me know if any tights-wearin magistrates show up, folks. Me and the lads will be inside writin a response that you can bet I'll sign my name to!

  • Anybody strolling through Norwick will notice a highly increased amount of guards and security about the town. It seems as if most of the guard positions have even been double posted, and the usual 2 guards standing at the Norwick North Realm Gates have been increased to 4 guards. Any Peltarch officials or defenders entering the town are met with thinned eyes, and obvious unwelcomeness.
