    Operations General, Royal Troff Legion.

    _The Balance of the Lady

In thy veins thy path I set
    Knight of Leaves,

    In Hours of Darkness
    When the Balance
    Tips astray._

Many who know her only slightly refer to her as a cleric, but this charismatic, highly focused and disciplined elven woman is a bushi, a fighting monkish priestess in dedicated service to her Goddess, the Lady of the Wood, Mielikki.

She oft can be found vigilantly watching the gates of Jiyyd. She seldom seems to sit, prefering the disciplined life of a soldier to one of liesure, and there is a spot on the edge of a nearby cornfield worn bare from her devoted prayer.

Upon meeting her, one is struck by her commanding presence. More than simple beauty, Lyte projects a sort of strength of character than immediately draws peoples attention…and soon, their loyalty.

It seems to be a combination of her physical traits...her wide, infectious grin, her piercing, large grey eyes, her confident erect stance, along with her natural tendency to command, and perhaps her inherant kindness and sense of fairness, that effect others so strongly in this way.

Clearly, this charismatic impact upon others is her strongest trait.

Lyte seems very well balanced in general strength, agility and natural constitution. She seems considerably wiser than she is smart. She is not a large elf, so she does not possess the strength or ability to absorb damage of larger races equally skilled, but her constant dedication at the martial arts keeps her quite fit, and she has truly honed the art of avoiding injury to a fine edge.

Lyte's weapon of choice is the katana, a light, fast, precise and deadly cutting instrument used by her father before her. She is quite proficent with a longbow, and, perhaps surprisingly, can also manage in combat without weapon or armor, using a a very obscure and unusual style of unarmed fighting, which she has brought with her from her home in the now lost elvish Camp, south of Norwick.

Lyte is an average sized elf, about 88 lbs, standing about 4'8" tall. She is curvaceous, with well cut shoulders and a graceful neck. She has splendid posture, and long hands. Her complexion is an unusual, beautiful elven golden hue. Her hair is a deep, luxurious autumn red, which she generally braids intricately with green ribbons.

Lyte appears to be about 135-145 years of age...maybe 28 in human years, or 4 as dogs judge such things. (hehe).

Lyte generally is found in trim Legion Plate, which looks to be high quality armor. She fights with a shield from her home, the elf encampment. Her helm appears to be made of mithril. She wears a specific set of gauntlets that are green and fashioned of wood which she values highly. On the finger of her left hand is an odd ring, silver bands which twist like branches, which Lyte claims was placed there by the Lady Mielikki herself.
In recent years, she can be found surrounded by beautiful pink and green beads, swirling about her, as she fights.

Some interesting traits/odd facts about Lyte:

    1. Lyte cant sing very well, but she whistles loudly and sweetly in perfect pitch, and often one might hear an inspiring marching tune of a sort on the wind when she is passing near by.

    2. Lyte's elvish has a slight "country" feel, though she speaks aristocratically and sounds quite schooled. Her common is excellent, and she once served as a Diplomatic Attache to Norwick, from her home in the Elf Encampment, during the Defiler War.

    3. Lyte believes quite strongly in protecting the weak, and that extends to hating bullies, all who take advantage of others, and especially...looters.

    4. Lyte believes strongly in redemption, for very specific IC reasons, and is always willing to give others the benefit of the doubt, if she believes good can result. She feels it is better to reform the wicked, than kill them, if possible. She also will expound often on karma, and how all things come back upon those who do good and evil.

    5. She really, really dislikes bugbears.

    6. Lyte loves pancakes. She claims sometimes they Bless her with extra energy.

    7. While she is a monkish priestess, (think a medieval Japanese fighting monk-priest), Lyte can hold her own in the ale department with her Legion cadre.

    8. Lyte Bry'Gaede is a clotheshorse, second to none, and often can be found lingering in the Peltarch fashion shop, trying on various lacy garments.

    9. Lyte peculiarly claims it is her duty, since she is so Blessed with charms by the Lady Mielikki, to look her very best at all times.

    10. While Lyte is quite capable of spending a thousand coin in a clothing store, if she has it, she is just as likely to raise a stranger, give someone in need all of her coin, and is quite selfless in this regard...which might seem paradoxial, unless you really know her well.

    11. Lyte has a nickname. It is "Sticks".

    12. On her bare right palm, Lyte has an ornate star. This would seem a tattoo, except that it seems to hover, or glow.

    13. Lyte is quite immodest about her body, and seldom takes much precautions when it comes to bathing in creeks and streams. She is not promiscuous, (she is rather a stick in the mud, as Pete would say), but she is in tune with nature, and confident with herself.

    14. Lyte is bound to Pete, and these two unlikely sorts seem to complement each other in ways no one would have suspected they would.

    15. Pete and Lyte enjoy ballroom dancing together, and sometimes can be found all dressed up in Peltarch, dancing to that lively orchestra.

    16. Lyte carries around a burden few know, tied into the Defiler storyline, and the later fall of the elf camp/Demon tale, that has helped to shape her into the sometimes hard to fathom, (and very real feeling to me), person, she has become.

She has much yet to do.
