  • -Pain Bearer-

A small but beautiful elf lies on the bed of one of the upstairs rooms of the inn in Jiyyd. She seems to have laid her things out around the room. Shiny and ornate robes and cloaks hung on a near coatrack. Some sturdier more weathered clothing, all of unique colors lay folded on a table. Her various bows unstrung with the strings wrapped around them as bows sit propped up in a corner of the small room. A small blue creature lies on the floor at the foot of the bed, snoring slightly in a monotnous nasal pattern. The small and young elf lies on the bed under the covers on this particularly cold night. Everything seems perfectly well since she has fallen asleep, until suddenly she jolts quickly up in her bed. Feeling a searing pain in her side she screams loudly in the middle of the night. Waking the small mephit at her feet. She is beathing heavily from the sudden pain she has and winces hard every time she tries to move. She pulls the covers from the top of her and examines the source of the pain. She seems evern more stunned as no physical injury is revealed. Being a wizardress she examined for any signs of what could be a magical affliction or even a curse. She finds nothing. After bearing slowly throught this process she begins to think, until it feels like she is hit by a brick wall across the face. Her nose feela as though it had about been ripped off. She runs her hands quickly over it and finds nothing. Then a searing pain hits her in the heart, like an arrow passing through her with unmeasurable accuracy and power. She is sprawled back into the depth of her bed as she is struck instantly by the unimaginable ammount of pain. Her breath becomes heavy and labored, even though the signs of physical injury are still absent. The blue creature still looks at her stunned as her coiled body writhes around in the bed pushing the sheets from out of under her thin delicate body. She screams loudly, but the door is thick and she's far down the hall. The romms beside hers were more empty than usual. The townsfolk either retired home or passed out on the first floor of the inn. She calls the blue mephit to bring her a bottle of the romani wine she always keeps in her bag. Although this plea is barely understandable as you can hear the stress and pain in her voice. The cold blue creature grabs two bottles and rushes towards her unkorking them as he flaps his way frantically to her. She takes the first bottle and starts drinking thw whole of it. Unfotunately the pain at this point seems to increase dringing her into a greater state of agony. Her screaming has ceased and she squirms quietly only crying as big tears pour vigorously from her eyes. She puts her hands over her face and pushes hard, as to make an effort to push the agony out of her nose which feels like it had been struck by lightning, torn off, and sewn back without anestetic. As the pain within her overwhelming her body continues to rise, she moves and twitches less and less. Until she is brought to a completely catatonic stupor. Looking rendered dead and lifeless the only two things that can be heard int he room are the faint breaths of the elf nearly failing to breath, and rapid pants of the confused mephit standing beside her looking to her in horror. The creature builds the courage to force feed her the remaining bottle, which most of it is spilled across the bed and her delicate skin, leaving both slightly stained. The mephit flys quickly out of the window breaking it after his failed attempt to help her. His horns first pierce the window but he is still covered in his own blood as his wings fail to make it through unscathed. He flaps off into the night in search of anyting that he could use to help her. He immideately heads off to Norwick in hopes of finding someone there. Meanwhile the elf still continues to appear to be on the edge of death as she scrambles for what small broken breaths she can take. Her eyes open as her hands uncover her face searching the room. She immdieately sees the blood on the broken window as Aasa's quick attempt to help, but is hit again with another of shat seems like a sowrd slash to the side. It feels as though it is bleeding and places her hand there to slow it, but her hand feels no liquid on it at all. Just the thin soft flesh of her side. Slowly over the next few hours the pain receedes to her normal state. Her uninjured body lay in the bed quivering from what had just happened. She stays there another few hours more thinking and pondering in her bed. Thinking 'What could have happened to him, what could my uncle have done to do this to him. Please…. Please.... let he be alive.' her thoughts are frantic and confused but seem to know understand the source of where the pain came from. Her beathing now normal she startes at the small mark on her thumb which still throbs with each heartbeat, but is completly bearable. She rubs the gold base of the three sided triange with her right index finger. She prays in her head not to one god in particular but just any who would be willing to listen. 'Let him live, i beg of you, please..... just let him be alright.... please.....' She lay there all throughout the night and the majority of the next morning rubbing he rthumb. Once she makes her first move up from the bed, she vommits all over the floor, parts of it hitting the nightstand so convienently placed. She turns back into bed and instantly falls asleep. She lay there all that day and the following night, waking up only the midday following that because of the small blue unkept fingers of Aasa poking her. "I couldn't find him El, Im sorry..." She looks up at him confused. "Find who Aasa?" Her voice lost and raspy from her screaming from before. "Your friend, the elf man you spend time with..." She looks to him and is able to fore a smile. "Thank you Aasa, thank you for trying". She gets up out of the bed and collects all her things. Restrings her bow and puts on her favorite green, black, and gold robe. She makes her way slowly out the door leaving her key. She makes it down the stairs to the front of the inn. She goes to sit by the campfire in Jiyyd and pulls out a small gold book and begins to write in it in a mix of several dead languages. She is often seen touching her side and slowly running her hand over her nose to check for signs of what had occured before. She writes 'I felt Isendur......'

    -Undead Trap-

As I was travelling back to Jiyyd from Peltarch with dwarven monk named Glebur. We ran into a rathe large group of individuals along the road, just past the nars bridge. Juster and Isendur were the first to find us there. I haven't seen Isendure for sometime and was curious how he had been, it's been since i first came to Narfell had i seen him. We used spent alot of time in the giantspires hunting the local kobold to peltarch, back when i lived there of course. As soon as Juster came by he mentioned gnoll were just up the road. Our party was made up of valiant and curious folk so we all headed on down the road. There were several undead gnoll up the road seeming to materialize out of thin air. Everytime a gnoll appeared a portion of black smoke was left with it. The gnoll being around ten or fiftenn charged the six or so of us. We all fought long and hard, but unfortinately Glebur the one I had been traveling with fell. I was able to carry his things and asked one of the more sturdy males to carry his body. Unfortunately there were attacks on us that came from several sides, the gnoll seemed to flank us as we tried to work our way to Jiyyyd. Several Undead Lords came after us as well, i had to flee from it given my untrained combat skill. I was able to cast invisibility on myself so it could no longer see me. I ran back to check if anyone had needed healing between then and when i had began to run away. Quickly after that i ran into Jiyyd and found Hedia sitting there. I quickly called out for all available to help along the road. Hedia responded quickly and I followed her back out to the battle. The gnolls were about finished at this time and we were able to make it back into town safely. Elyl carried Glebur's body into Vrooka's and set it there. Vrooka asked us for seven-hundred-and-fifty coin. I responded quickly after giving her a curious look. I mentioned that Laus sells them for about sixhundred and she shruged it off and agreed to our more suitable price. Glebur was able to be brought back and I returned his things to him. I hope he will recover quickly from this tramautic event, and just as much that these undead attacks stop plaguing Narfell. I was thinking of looking into how they were able to materialize into the Nars so easily. Im sure I will put it here once i do find out.

    -With Orc Or Shadows-

Once again i was doing my usual rounds in the central plains near Jiyyd. I feel somewhat compelled to keep an eye on that area as the orc sometimes gather there in significant numbers. While out doing this i happened to notice somehting very pequiar. As i approached i noticed a familiar face looking back and forth as though searching for something. This man covered in some blood. He seemed to have been beaten and recovered several times within a short period of time. This had me very perplexed at the time. I chose to stay close enough so i was able to see this continue to happen. A figure seemed to appear on both sides on the man spontaneously, which was also speaking. I was unable to make out what was said but i wasn't feeling comfortable moving in closer to investigate the source of the voice. Some few minutes after i began watching the one who seemed the victm began walking slowly back towards Jiyyd. I stopped him along his path, and having know him ppreviously i offered to tend his woulds with the herbs and seutering kit i often have with me. I also gave him a few small bottles of some healing potion i have saved over time. He thankfully took these offerings from me with no refusal. I asked him what had occurred and he told me it was nothing and that i should not worry about. I simply stated that anyone who came out in the positision he was in was a noteworthy subject. He replied that it wouldn't be a harm to any others and was a personal lesson for his self benefit and walked off slowly towards Jiyyd. I chose not to follow and continue my patrol over the plains. I didn't feel continuing to ask him about what had occurred would gain me any more information. I might try to edge around the topic in the future and see if there is anymore information i may discover.

    Journal Entry 4

Today i told Lucidious about my families sign and the meaning it has. The sign was adopted after myself and my two brothers were born. I showed Lucidious the small thiangle tattoed to my thumb. I explained to him that how since there are three centhedwa children each one of us is represented by a side and color of the centhedwa triangle. I myself have adopted the green in our crest, as decided by my father given my extremely bright green eyes. My brother Evryan the middle born was told to be the black in our crest given his suprisingly dark features when compared to the rest of our family. Isendel my eldest brother has taken the gold as a symbol of his loyalty to my father after taking his place as he personal protector. Lucidious found this interenting as i explained this to him. To me it dosen't seem anything out of the ordinary having been raised this way until i had to leave home. Lucidious did inspire me to look into researching it again so i will spend time doing such. I will likely put such findings in this notebook.

  • Demon Research Paper

    By Elridith Centhedwa

Having been asked to do research on demons by a man named Olsen of the Far Scouts, i also asked Khryill if it could double as my report for to become an aprentice at Spellweavers. I hope this information is though valuable to both groups, or any other peoson who should come into contact with it.

Quidelines For Dealing With And Combating Demons

There are a few fine rules to follow whenever one deals with demonkind. Although demons come in a wide array of varieties there are some principiles that can be applied to all.

    1. Demons should never be trusted no matter the situation that is given, there should be no attempts to negociate with the demons at any point given their generally sly and devious behavior patterns.

    2. The only way to be completely sure you are in control of a demon is to posess it's true name. Only the true name of a demon no matter the type or variety will allow you complete control over it. Do not try to manipulate the true name of the demon as it won't work and the demon could decieve you. You could however manipulate the demon into revealing his true name, although be wary no to negociate or procrastionate this effort as demons are deceptive creature and will seek anthing to end it.

    3. Demons very often posess magical abilities and an adventurer dealing with such should be prepared for such to occur. Having another caster to disrupt their spells or your own spells or items to add to your resistance to such would be ectremely reccomended.

    4. Also demons are pawns of other demons or will create their own servants should you come into contact with them. In the event a demon creates his own servant do not focus your combat energies on fighting the servant. The servant or summoned creature will likely leave or uncreate itself once the magical tie to the demon itself is broken. The first course of action should be to elimate the superior demon in any situation like this as the lesser will cease to exist when the magical tie is broken between them.

    5. Some demons will be especially bothered by devine beings trying to affect them. Although i is not a given it would be helpful to have those of the power with them when combating a demon.

    6. Often times demons will target a specific member of a group who might be either less capable or have a more confused or jaded past then the others. If you think that this could apply to your group, the weaker member or who had trouble or is still dealing with complicating problems, one should leave the brunt of the confrontation to others so take the demons attention off oneself so the demon won't make them a target.

    7. One extreme caution would be to never deal with demons while alone. Given their inclination to decieve others, the ability to pull other demons into their current plane, and often super strength or magical talents, combating a demon would be a mistake which could leave to one's own death. Group efforts are highly stressed when dealing with demons due to these factors.

    8. Using one's own ability to summon creatures to fign the demon would greatly aid the adventurers because it would continue to take the focus off the members of the group and will be able to distract the demon and hopefully be able to injure or kill it as well.

    Personal Encounters

While spending my time in Narfell, i was fortunate and unfortunate enough to encounter some a Vrook and some Quasits in my time here. You will see specific characteristics below. It is my wish that these items might be added into the Spellweaver Library.

    Vrook
    Type: Demon
    Level Of Threat: Very High
    Known Weaknesses: None
Known Magical Spells/Abilities: Has to ability to cast darkness, and also has an extremely high resistance to physical attacks. Damage Reduction.
Useful Spells Against These: Ultravision is extremely useful to pierce the darkness which could be casted by the vrook, also magical attacks would be very valuable due to the high damage reduction the vrook has.
    Known Locations: None
    Profits: None
Brief Description: From my own observations a vrook almost looks like a skeleton of a bird. They are thin and have spikes covering their entire bodies. They are large creatures and will use their many spikes as weapons.

    Quasits
    Type: Wisp/Demon
    Level Of Threat: High
Known Weaknesses: Using spell resistand/immunities or spells
Known Magical Spells/Abilities:Often cast magic missle spells to attack their enemies.
Useful Spells Against These: Ghostly Visage or Shield will be useful to block the magic missles they often attack with.
Known Locations: Areas where wisp like creatuers habitate.
    Profits: None
Brief Description: Wisplike creatures that are small and will use numerous magic missle spells once they encounter a threat.

    -In The Field-

Today i was reminded of when i first came into contact with Aasa. Aasa is an ice mephit who gave me somewhat of a life debt after our first encounter, but that is another story. I was in the orc fields, where i can oftenly be seen. I rather dislike the orcs who roam the fields south of the long road. Quite barbaric and brutal creatures. That isn't the point, point is i was impressed with Aasa in the field when dealing with the orc. A much swifter creature than when he first came to me. Watching him fly from orc to orc swinging deadly claws all around him. His wings fluttering up and down keeping his body from even being touched by the green club wielders. His small blue body bobs up and down over the orcs heads as he claws them down as they struggle to hit him. After taking out each orc before i even have the time to mutter a spell or pull back an arrow. He casually flys back to me with a smile and says "Are you ok? You didn't help me?" and continues to smile knowing why. "Aasa you got them before i could do much… you're becoming quite valuable to have around". He just continued to smile at me. "I'm much better at healing now El". I've noticed he's a rapid healer while in battle, actually i don't remember any time we came out of a battle we didn't flee and he wasn't in perfect shape. Point being i just grow more and more impressed with each day that does by, he grows more clever. About a week ago he was going over a set of riddles with Ting. Although not many of them were too good, for a mephit i would assume they were splendid. I hope he will be able to travel with me for decades to come.

    -Trading Days And Prayers-

I've been fortunate enough to come into posession of a few interesting items. I've been carrying them for some time and feel at this point my back would prefer i trade them off. Im not much a trader but it wouldn't feel proper without getting something in return for them. I have found a few men interested in, i wish i could find them again. I spend mst my time inbewteen town, only travelling in groups for fear of Legebril finding me. He may not the the strongest man, but he is very resourceful when it comes to getting what he wants. I have been lucky for some time avoiding him, but this seems bittersweet. I fear that if i can't do somehting soon then he will have my uncle's own warriors went for me. I still pray to Corellon every night for guidance and protection.

    -All In Life-

I've been here in Narfell sometime, and was recently inspired so start up a journal to keep my thoughs. Reason being why i am writing now. I assume i will keep some research and journey information in this notebook. So much has happened to me since i've found my way to Narfell. Being adopted by the sisterhood, studying at Spellweaver, making so many friends, a being followed by enemies.

I met a young hin fellow named North while shopping in Peltarch. We got around to talking and i discovered his profession. He is a private investigator and has quite a bit of practice in the buisness. I hired him to keep watch on Legebril who has been tracking me in hope to either eliminate me or bring me back to my uncle. I'm not sure if North will be able to find out enough information without travelling to Everska, but im hopeful he will come to me withsomething useful. He asked for one hundred and fifty coin so i gave him a fine shortsword i had in my own collection to pay for the first portion of it. At this point im desperate to find something more than what i currently know. What i know can't provide me with any resolution to the issue, so i pray to Corellon something will arise soon.

  • Strong gluteral breaths reverbriate in the area with a force you have never though possible from a creature that could fit into a cave so tight around it. Lumbering beasts lurk in the caves around a space which has become slightly distorted, barely noticable to a naked eye. A strange refraction of light lied around this space tucked away into a nook of the long tunnel. Pacing forward and back these giant like creatures work their way up and down these seemingless unending tunnels. The purge of all light leaves almost everything unseen except for the hulks which continue to seemlessly roam up and down. A barely noticible voice pants franitcally from this distorted zone. The ammount of stress coming from the owner of this frantic voice couldn't ever be measured. Underneath the sheath of cover lies a small young and more desperate elf. Lying in pain an the brink of death. Blood spilling from all over he delicate and beautiful body which is now stained and torn. Inbetween breaths she thinks to herself "everyone's gone…" and then goes back to being overwhelmed with pain as she tries to breathe. Realizing the pain won't stop she strie to crawl towards the dim and almost unnoticible light she can barely see with her keen but bruised eyes. With each pull almost all the earth slips through her broken fingers. Each pull over the rocks and gravel hurts more and more, but the closer the light gets the more drive she has to reach it. Every breath is straining but a moment of hope, because she wispers to herself "Someone will be there... Aasa will be there... they though i died, but they could come back..." She stuggles for over a day trying to pull her near lifeless body from the cave which almost meant her end. Each pull throught the barred darkness means so many things to her confused mind. She will live to see her friends, her sisters, her companion Aasa who has stood by her for so long and alive so many times, but the thing that keeps her going the most is the thought of a man. "I can't leave him now, now that he's just come back... I can't die now that he finally knows how i feel." She leaves tears in each lump of dirt she pulls past her. "Not now..." With each lups of dirt, a lump grows in her throat. Filled with the desperate will for survival, tears of pain and happiness all at once. An upward climb begins to the surface. Like a fish looking out of the water it's so close, but seems untouchable. The pulling becomes faster and faster the brighter the light gets on the surface. Her usually smooth and slender legs now torn apart have started kicking to aid her effort forward. As she reaches the light he breathing becomes steady and controlled finally having fresh air to fill up her lungs. The air becomes fresher and fresher as she works her way up past the the workers and soldiers around her. Her veil of invisibility still with her as she works her way past them. The earth is now sandy and harder to pull through with her hands, but it no longer pulls out her nails like the rocks and rough gravel in the cave. She reaches the snow of the Nars, her mind filled with joy, body filled with pain. Finally she can barely smell the fresh snow around her due to a broken nose. She surveys the area around her looking for any sign of help. She screams with the little energy she has left "Aasa..." Her voice drow out. "Sisters..." no response. Her last bit of energy is spent on her most hopeful cry "Luc........." but there is no awnser. Expending her last strenght on her final attempt for rescue she becomes dazed and lightheaded. She feels the world darken around her as she slowly dazes off to sleep on the brink of death, in the cold on the Nars snow.

  • Double Post

  • A delicate body lies curled on the forest floor. A small creature flutters by uninterested in the figure on the ground. It looks like a pixie or fairy to your eyes from the distance but flutters away. As it comes into view you see yourself looking into a small glenn. You recognize the small body as a woman you might have met travelling bewteen Jiyyd and Peltarch. A very young and even more attractive elf named Elridith. Her light skin and hair seem so clean and kept under the moonlight considering shes on the forest floor. Then you hear a flapping noice and a flash of blue whip past you in an instant. The small creature flaps above the goregous elf and speaks with worry.
El get up, El get up". His voice repeating until she starts to stir below him. It's hands reach for her green gemming staff next to her. She begins to wake up her voice light and delicate.
"Aasa whats happened? Is something wrong?"
The small creature calls to her repeatedly as he scrambles to collect their things together.
"Elri we have to go quickly, Come On! I'll tell you on the way…" She looks up into the mephits eyes seeing the worry in his eyes which have become bloodshot and teary all at the same time. Then a strong voice pierces the area.
"Elridith are you here? Get out here now..." The strong unknown voice continues to belt out inquiries and grows louger and louder with each passing seccond. "Wait.." Elridith wispers to the mephit. She quickly casts to spells of invisibility under her breath, one for her one on the mephit. The quickly scramble to get their remaning things and move towards the voice very slowly, partly in fear, partly in curiosity. They see a tall and thin elf come into view. She gasps once she sees the mans face come into view. The man turns his head quickly hearing the noise, and pulls out his longsword which gleams as its ripped from its sheath. His shield still hangs from his back thuping against it with each step. It's still early and light hasn't come up. His breath steams the air with hatred as he continues to yell her name. "Elridith where are you, come out dammit" His voice instantly becomes cool and controlled. "Let's talk El", he pauses. Her heart skips a beat as she hears the intent in his heart. She knows something has changed in him, his voice is now cold and ruthless. Nothing like she remembered of him. She wispers his name to the mephit. "Legebril...." She speaks so quietly as tho the air itself could hear her speak. The voice becomes impatient and begins to rage on again, "Get out here now or i'll spend days dicing you girl". At this point she begins racing out of the glenn. He swings through the air with his blade, making contact with her ankle. She runs out into the snow leaving a trace of blood splattered behind her. She runs to the boarshead in norwick, being as its the closest shelter she can find help there. She cries out knocking on the door. She opens up the door and goes behind the bar starting to stumble. A few bottles and towel catch her eye. The mephit wraps the towel around her leg after locking the door. She uses a healing kit and some herbs to fix up the wound. The bartender come out in a fit ranting and raving until they notice the bloody rags around her ankle. The first thing El says is "Wheres Lucidious?" The bartender replies "Not here" and bends down to look over the wound. Her world goes spinning and she starts brething really heavily. She passes out on the floor. The mephit and bartender gaze down at the young elf, and then to eachother.

    -To Be Continued-
