Camp Bon Fire Rumors and Stories

  • _Aelthas is even seen grinning a bit as he eyes the pink armbands. His training continues as usual, mostly based on defensive fighting. He spends alot of time showing the men he is training how to hold a line, without giving up to much ground and holding it for as long as possible.

He puts his squads against each other in mock battles, taking them to various parts of the camp and showing them the most defendable positions available. He never yells or even appears to get angry if any of them do something wrong, he simply talks to them, telling them how he believes it should be done and also takes suggestions from anyone on how to improve. He is also quick to offer a smile and a nod to anyone who does a good job.

He has been watching his squad leaders very closely. Occasionally whispering to an old romani man that seems to stay close to his side at most times and keeps tossing some jerky to a skinny dog that seems to follow him around as he talks._

  • *Dwin arrives late one evening with a cart full of goods and mule. The poor beast strains under the weight of whatever is in the cart. Although not large in size, it must be heavy.

After presumedly unloading the goods into his cave-dwelling, the next morning the cart is empty and the mule is standing near it. *

A note on the cart says:

Cart and Mule - Donated to Romani
    (Mule's name is Fatty)

Use em fer whatever ya need.

Dwin is either still in his cave, or has left the camp again.

  • _Jonni is seen passing out armbands to various Romani that have been training with Aelthas, and as of late with Raver as well. A small number of Romani have been patrolling the camp and into the pass, and all of those have been seen wearing Blue armbands. Romani wearing Black armbands seem to be spending much more time training with Raver in base tactics, and an equal sized group wearing of all things…. Pink Armbands are seen training more often with Aelthas as a group.

A number of the Rom have also begun gathering expeditions into the woods gathering supplies, both medicinal as well as hunting for meat. A number of the craftsmen have been working on hand carts and talk is of a shipment of supplies being sent to Jiyyd once the work is completed._

  • Wanderers in the pass might notice a profusion of hobgoblin corpses, ripped apart by a large animal. This isn't a regular event, though, and the hobgoblins return to their habitual wanderings a couple of nights later.

  • Sara, the silent sword-dancer, watches the pair, especially when Kaede, her own foundling adoptee joins them. Often taking over to give Ragnhild a rest. She signs to Ragnhild who eventually fathoms it to mean
Three young girls. The giggling will drive Aelthas insane.

  • Gonnar can be seen spending some time with Asha, who is under Ragnhilds protection. He usually tends to play "hide and seek" game…and he always can be seen loosing. If you pay attention you also see Gonnar is feeding her with gnomish lolipops...when Ragn is not looking.

  • In the past few days, Elor has been rather quiet, preferring the solitude of the woods near the camp to the fires. When he is spotted, he usually has his cloak's hood pulled low, his face concealed, and his pace slow and hesitant. Some say he started to act like this ever since he had a quiet talk with a pretty young woman in Divine Shield colours, who left the camp in an equally depressed fashion.

  • A new face is seen in the camp of late, a seven-year-old girl by the name of Asha. The girl is said to be a refugee from Ormpur, taken in by Ragnhild and Zoma until the situation in the remote village improves. Under Ragnhild's watchful eye, Lycka drags her new friend all around the camp, enthusiastically pointing out the various interesting places to play. The training camp seems especially fascinating to the two girls, though the potato peeling is avoided with great care.

  • From time to time a muscular redhead turns up for the training of the recruits, her hair and clothes usually a mess. She seems content to just watch from a safe distance, but she also eagerly participates in the fighting, following most instructions quite attentively but seems unwilling to speak or answer questions. She seems fairly incompetent using a bow, but if she can keep her mind set manages admirably with most other normal weapons. She's also enthusastic about participating in the potatoe peeling.

  • _Raver can be seen working with the recruits in small squads, each one holding a sword of their choosing, blade blunted for the moment.
They spend hours repeating a series of movements, blades held as if they are in a defensive posture. Raver barks suggestions to each one, her tone gruff, though not impatient.
As she moves among the men and women who have chosen to volunteer, she often gives a pat on the back, adjusts an arm or hand, stops and draws her own weapon to give examples on what she is trying to teach them.

As the day draws to a close, she retreats to the Heartfires and brings out a completely different bastard sword. If asked, she'll tell you that the sword was rescued from trolls, and she's still trying to figure it out. What "it" is….. she won't say._

  • _Aelthas grins as the Romani peel potatoes better than everyone and he watches the romani using thier bows, looking very impressed by the skill they have with them.

After the days training is done, Aelthas offers wine and food to anyone interested. He sits at the fire and talks to anyone who happens to stay.

In the morning he can still be seen sitting at the fire, ready for the next days training._

((Will trash some gold for the wine and food))

  • Raver can be seen around the Camp more often the past few days, watching the training, and the potato peeling with an amused air. Leaning mostly against a tree silently, her interest remains mostly on those training with swords, but also takes time out to watch those training with bows.
After a time she straightens, and heads off to look for Jonathan, leaving messages with both armor and weapons merchant, as well as a few of the other Romani that she'd like a few words with him.

  • _A group of twenty Romani are seen training daily with the other adventurers Aelthas has managed to convince. None of them seem more then proficient with a sword, leaning more towards their bows, but all pay close attention to the lessons given. All of them peel potatoes faster and better then anyone else, including Aelthas.

A number of Romani have also been sighted in the southeast corner of the ruins, avoiding the gnolls whenever possible but seemingly in search of cave openings, or cracks in the canyon walls hinting at a possible passage, non have been found so far._

  • Attached to a some trees, the following posters make an appearance around the camp.

  • _At first it seems the group of three sails were just reiterating a story told in Jiyyd and Norwick. The ground shaking, a monster appearing in a cave, and they almost getting beaten into a pulp by it. Oddly enough most people can confirm that indeed the ground was shaking a bit.

Not shortly thereafter, though, a weird occurance rattled the less seasoned inhabitants, and particular the female leutenant of the sails, as the man she had hugged a moment before was pulled into a hole, his ankle having been grabbed by a mysterious hand.

Later the same man reappears out of a similar hole in the ground, claiming he was abducted into a different plane. He further claims that he was given a warning he should repeat to all willing to listen that they should stay out of the way of the man behind the monsters, or get killed in a most gruesome way. The more seasoned adventures already commenting with every bad guy says so.

Whether any of this is true or not, is of course an entirely different story. According to the Sail's story, the man-look-alike behind the monsters claims to be called Edward, though._

((Ah, so much fun! Abducted by aliens! lol! ;))

  • Lycka goes positively bug-eyed as she spots the rainbow and pink coloured outfit, apparantly thinking it's the prettiest thing she's ever seen. She then begins a long and stubborn nagging campaign to get her parents to give her something similar.

  • Jonni is seen watching for awhile… silent... after a few hours he walks up to Aelthas and makes one comment...

    Get it dyed…

then walks back to his tent.

  • _Day after day of training hard begins to tire most of the people out ,so Aelthas gives everyone a few days break.. he leaves the camp for a day or so and comes back.. prepared to start training once again.. in his new set of rainbow and pink colored armor.. with matching helm and cloak.

Aelthas gets close to anyone who seems to find his new armor and helm amusing and gives them a small smile.. looking them right in the eyes and telling them that any distraction can cost lives, even a small laugh at someones pink and rainbow colored armor.

The next day, there seems to be ALOT more potatoes to peel for all the trainees, Aelthas tells them that even though a few may have been distracted, everyone needs to learn from it.

The training moves from potatoe peeling to laps around the inner camp well into the night, most people going home exhausted, Aelthas going home with a small grin on his face. The same routine is done for many days after that._

  • _A large group, consisting of Jerr, Keira, Elor, Ragnhild, Alexi, William, Gonnar and led by Aelthas left the camp and headed into the gnoll lands.

They returned several days later, bloody and bruised, carrying the body of an unknown man that had apparently gone missing in the Cold Caves. Immediately heading off to Peltarch.

Aelthas was seen shortly after, going back to his normal routine of training people in the inner camp, a distant look on his face.

Most of the training for the next few tendays is spent with Aelthas in nothing but his pants and the men and women he is training trying to hit him with padded swords, showing them how to use thier feet to avoid blows, instead of just relying on a shield or a sword to do so.

When not doing this, he has alot of baskets of potatoes delivered to the training area and has everyone peeling them, a slight grin on his face._

  • The club some may know as the Husband Tamer once more hangs idle from Ragnhilds belt. Instead of whacking the stuffing out of combat dummies, the blond warrioress instead spends a great deal of time and effort roasting fragrant apples and trying to prepare some hopefully unburnt dishes from penguin meat. A wide, sunny smile lights up her face as she goes about her task, compensating her lack of skill in cooking matters with sheer good will. Gossip-mongerers might draw the conclusion that whatever issue had Zoma cowering outside their tent is now forgiven and forgotten.
