Calling all Liberators

  • I personally do not care where it is held as long as it is large and a non combat zone will be posting the time within hours
    '

  • ((can make any date that is set. don't care where it's held))

::It is rumoured that Arandor will be attending this meeting, whenever or wherever it may be. Largely considered to be one of the last remaining Elders next to Cera, it is clear he will be taking an active role in this::

  • I don't think there was any real trouble with the legion, I just think a lot of folks want to help with this, and most see themselves excluded if it's held in the legion hall (not because they are excluded in any way), mostly because the legion hall is somewhere most characters that aren't legion or worked closesly with them feel as if they are intruding. As well, the legion door remains locked most times, which would be an inconvenience (not sure if they can just be unlocked by someone with a key).

Anyways, that's my interpretation, of course I could just be completely wrong. 🙂

  • //if i am on during the meeting (which is somewhat doubtful due to my timezone) i can get erug to guard the door, he is stupid enough to do so.

  • //I'll meet wherever, but if it's the Legion hall, someone will have to stand by the door throughout the meeting to open it for any Campers that come by late. And of course some will come late. We're the free loving, hippy-like Gali after all 😉 Seems kind of unnecessary when there's plenty of other places to be. It's nothing against the Legion, it's a matter of practicality. So when's the meeting?

  • //was Bryn suggested to Lyte in game some days back that the new Camp was unsafe a place to meet, and that the Legion Hall would be "as good a place as anywhere" for the meeting. Not trying to hijack the event, and Lyte has been involved in the loop since day one, and has killed as many gnolls and has stood toe to toe to the big demons at risk to life and limb as much as anyone else in Narfell. Her only wish was to help, not to lead the expedition.

General Lyte is a Mielikki worshipping elf who is a bushi of the Forest, a very good friend to the Druid's Circle, thinks of herself as a friend to Cotton, Cike, Bryn, Err, Oats, and many other Campers, and Elord and Lilin are Legion and Camp folk.

What's more, Lyte has repeatedly offered the Legion's help, in anyway they can ever since the Camp fell, Jiyyd is the largest reciever of refugees, and several Campers have specifically asked her for assistance in the matter.

Why the heck would the meeting not happen in the Hall with all the roleplaying making it logical to happen there, if enough Campers think it's all right?

With Bryn's specific mention of the Camp being an unsuitable gathering place, and Lyte's in game invitation, the Legion Hall isnt an unsuitable place to gather….and Lyte would be extremely hurt to find out Dwin thought the Legion's Hall, that fortress of protecting folks from evil things everywhere, was not a "neutral enough" place for the Campers to gather with other anti-gnoll forces to form their plans.

The Hall offers about as good security as there is available...making it a perfectly logical spot, certainly better than the unlocked town council building, and most of those who command it are sincere friends to the Campers who will fight beside the gypsys...not like Olem, who would be more likely to treat them like homeless, jobless regamuffins and just wants to toss them the hell out of Jiyyd.

_*Lyte, hearing rumors the Legion Hall might be considered by some an unsuitable place for the Gypsys and other forces interested in destroying the evil undead gnolls to gather for their big meeting, sits by the little lake near the hall in deep thought.

Never particularly thin-skinned, the girl, the first woman General of the Legion, and still a very young elf at a mere 138 years, wonders despite herself if she took some mistep over the past years as she tried to aid and befriend the Campers in their efforts to defeat the gnolls, and she feels a little saddened that people oft look at the heavily armored, uniformed Legion as heartless town militia, or worse, as soldiers-for-hire.

Neither of these views, of course, had any truth to them whatsoever. Legion members were completely unpaid volunteers. They were not town guards there to enforce laws, only helping occasionally in times of trouble, and their guardianship of those oppressed by evil did not stop at the walls of the town in which their headquarters happened to be in.

Feeling vaguely ill at ease at the idea of politics or issues of leadership causing a rift between friends at a time when a great force of evil needed selfless deeds and the banding together of the forces of freedom, the young elf bushi drew a picture in the sandy soil at the lakes edge.

She stood and walked towards the hall slowly, her head still bowed as if in thought, leaving behind a simple picture of a horse bearing a single horn, looking left, out over the pretty lake."_

  • Just confirm a date and time and I'll do my best to be around for it.

I'm pretty open from Thursday on this week….

  • Legion

I can make anything after 8pm est

  • ((council hall would be a good place. but could it be moved to friday the 17th? weeknights aren't good for me. Or could it be around 8PM EST if it happens during the week?))

  • Lets throw that up for a vote as well, Dwin, Just trying to get this to gel abit.
Thank you so far for your responses.

  • //aint it just like the legion to take this inside their HQ! 😉

I propose a more neutral spot… perhaps the Council Hall in Jiyyd. As a council member, i will clear it with Olem.

  • // What about those non-legion members?

  • //Might I suggest this Thursday, the 16th, at 10 or 11pm eastern, gathering outside the Legion Hall, and meeting within for security?
