The Day After

It is a late morning for many. The past few days have been a wild ride. Between the speeches, late parties, prison riots, massive crowds, and even a merchant fair the people of Peltarch are in a bit of a daze.
Large numbers of people labor to clean up the streets from all the crowds. A number are seen coming in and out of the jail carrying broken furniture and stone. Still more carry in fresh blocks to repair the damages.
The Guard are still out in full force. The men look weary from 4 days of double shifts. None are willing to talk of the events in the jailhouse.
Around City Hall is another mass of busy men and women. Pages are flying all over the city delivering updates on the vote count. The winners and losers change by the hour as the votes are totaled, but the names Aaron Ashald and Mariston Thel are most always near the top.
There does seem to be some concern however. By law a person must collect at least 20 percent of the vote to win. With so many strong candidates, will this number of choices cause a seat to go unclaimed?

A final report is sent around holding Mariston and Ashald firmly at the top with Eoweil and Zyphlin not far behind. The official announcement will be made in the morning.

A couple days pass. Rumors still swirl, but still no official announcement. A recount is in progress (just to double check) and the best sources say Aaron Ashald and Mariston are likely winners… But what of the last seat?
