Nicahh inquires with the remaining camp members if they have considered enlisting the help of displaced Eastlanders, who will be looking for a home, to help them in the battles to come and to patrol the area.
Gnolls are beginning to spill out into the pass, meaning either their numbers have gotten greater, or the Eastlanders really did help keep them in check. We know these people are crafters, thus perhaps they can help you mine and find more silver if need be. We also know they are adept at battles. And before you say they can't be trusted, please remeber not all of the Eastlanders are theifs and murderers and some really did try and stick to the peace agreement.
This area has been their homes for decades, so I don't see why they would not wish to help protect it, especially if they stand to establish a sense of normalcy again. And when the camp is retaken, you have a group who truly values the area to help protect it against such atrocities again.
If you wish, the Sisterhood can try and contact them and see if they are willing to lend a hand. Their numbers are few, but perhaps they can offer us assistance, or insights into the gnolls since they lived so close to them for so long.
