At the crack of dawn a week before election day, a man is found hanging by his feet from the roof of a shop in the commerce district. His body has been cut from crotch to throat and his entrails hang in a grotesque cascade beneath him. Crowds gather as it takes nearly an hour to get people skilled enough to climb up and cut him down.
Some in the crowd remark that his clothing looks like that of a blood spider.

A young man in Black Sails colours rubs his cheek at the sight of the man, and frowns at the comment about Blood Spider colours.
He then looks around carefully, fingering the crossbow hanging from his side, and heads for the Mermaid, mumbling."Such brutality… uncalled for..."
