Clandra Galpen's Senatorial Campaign
-
~The Docks~
The gorgeous bardess talks to the hardworking commoners around her. Her enchanted, waist-long ravenblack hair floats in the air around her, as if it was underwater. As a contrast to this, she's wearing white, silken, nearly see-through dress, which gently moves around in the wind.
"I see before me the blood of Peltarch. The people that give life to our city. But is there anyone like you running for senatorial seat? Is anyone of you born in the same condition as you are? I still remember what it is like to work, work, work. That might be because I spend most of my time with you."
She grins, and winks at couple of the dockworkers she's slept with. Her talking is quite fanatically, as if she really believed in this. She is a trained actor afterall.
"The reason I wish to be a senator.. that is something many don't know before now. I wish to offer each and everyone in this city to keep a day off when they want and enjoy either the time with your family, or free entertainment provided by bards from Peltarch, or abroad. Over time, this cherishing of arts would make our city more known than it is now, which would bring in more visitors, which means money. Money, that would eventually find their way into your pockets, if I was a senator.
To put it more simple: You would go enjoy your free time, and get richer doing that."She looks at some other dockworkers she's slept with this time.
"As you might know, my aim is to please people. To fulfill their each and every desire. The wish of each and everyone."
She winks at a man in his seventies as she says that.
"Think closely what you wish from your senator. Then tell me what you want, as I come to you. I can now fulfill only part of your wishes. As a senator, I can do a lot more."
She then starts a show with her magics. Beautiful lights cover the nightsky, her hair crackles with magic, her figure powerful, yet very beautiful at the same time. Sages might compare it to The Simbul. After the lightshow is over, she ends the invisibility spell covering a throne behind her. The throne is made of simple materials that can be found in commoners' homes, stone and wood. It's not overdecorated, it's what one could call the throne of the commoners. She sits down, smiles at them with her most kindest smile.
"I will be here to answer your questions for the rest of the evening".
-
Clandra walks through the areas with lots of shops, lots of people, smiling ever so brightly.
"Vote for Clandra, vote for bigger, richer Peltarch!"
-
Attentus announces his public support for Clandra
-
"A perceptive one, if a bit base," Pernicious Den 'Kath muses.
-
_"Now is the time to vote, dear citizens. Vote not for the people with the longest speeches, for they tend to have very strong personal opinions, and they try to make things how they want. And that is not always what they promised.
Instead, vote for Clandra, the woman that listens to you, and acts based on that."_
-
Clandra is seen appearing to the people, wearing actually some clothing for once. Her free hair flows in the air touching the black velvet dress she is wearing, her lips bright red.
"Good evening, everyone. The war with the eastlanders is finally over. A lot of good men fell in the battlefield. Their families will now need the support of you, citizens of Peltarch. Help them. There is only so much one person can do, even if she was a senator. it is the help of masses that is far more important."
She moves closer to a guard, wraps her arm around his waist as she continues speaking.
"I've also paid attention to something I actually find quite odd, in these elections. Some candidates seem to boast, of the supporters of those candidates, how they were in the battlefield and gloriously defended the city. While I do that from time to time, in the eastlander war I decided to take different approach, and instead brought in weapons and potions. I feel that is what a good senator should do - concentrate on the fact that the defenders should be able to fight. Make plans with the officers, ask help from other cities. That is where most of the senator's power is, not on the battlefield."
She smiles somewhat sadly, features brightening up though. She traces her finger along the guards cheek.
"The pass is now free from bandits, and trade should open with other countries soon. This is good for all of us - it brings wealth to our city, wealth that I will make sure, as senator, will also go to the not-so-wealthy people. Vote for me. You will not only make yourselves happy.. but me, too."
She winks, stays there for a bit for questions.
-
Figure of Clandra appears on one of the buildings at the docks. She seems to be only clad in her impossibly long hair, and the black hair does give quite nice contrast to her pale skin.
_"People of Peltarch. Other candidates have probably informed you that the time of the elections is close. As you might notice, this is when they start pressing their speed in their campaign. This is to ensure they are not forgotten when you go to vote.
Me? I have not much to say. As a senator, I will act simply on the worries that you, people of Peltarch, bring to my attention. In my opinion, that is a lot better way than giving a lot of empty promises."_
The bard turns to look at some of the men, pouting smile on her lips.
"I most definately won't dissapear from the publicity. I wish to gain the seat, for you. But if you want to help me in it, tell the other voters what I would be like as senator. Everyone deserves to get the information."
Shinig lights start to sparkle around this beautiful bard, lighting the area beneath the house quite well. Clandra Galpen, Beacon of Light in Peltarch.
"Remember. I will bring you pleasure and happiness. What more can one hope for from life?"
The bard dissapears, but the light ontop of the building remains, lighting the workers in the darkening night…
-
The stunning woman, Clandra appears to some dockworkers, although soon more and more men come closer to catch a glimpse of her.
Dear Peltarchians. You must have seen, like I have, the hostility of others who run for the Senate. By hostility, I mean verbally attacking at others who run for senate as well. This is NOT what politics should be about. They should spend their times plotting for how to make the life of you all better if they are chosen.
Her breasts are covered by her enchanted, black hair. She probably wears nothing under it. She's also wearing a white skirt with golden lining. She looks through the people, shaking her head.
All I will say is this. Fanaticism of any kind is not a good thing. People might mean good, but usually it ends up doing more harm. Fanatic people see one side of the story, but not the other. That is not a good trait for a senator.
She snaps her fingers, three tables full of fruits appears infront of the commoners. The invisibility spell ended.
I know you are hungry. Many many years back, I lived on the streets feeding myself with… well. Go now, will you? And do take some food with you, to your homes.
She casts invisibility spell. Half a second before she goes invisible, her hair bursts up from her chest. Then again, it might just as well be the imagination of the men…
-
Local women are really not taking to Clandra's style. Local men however tend to run into things when she is around. Commonly seen at all the balls and parties and regarded as a celebrity amongst the wealthy of Peltarch.
-
An agile young man has been spotted skulking along rooftops, never far from Clandra and watching the proceedings with great amusement.
-
Clandra is seen by the defenders quarters, speaking with the soldiers.
"Isn't it awful, as you think about it, that you might die on a mission, everytime you go out? Yes. I know the feeling. I do have a child waiting for me at home as well. What if I don't come back at all? What happens then?"
She takes a sad face, perfected by her acting capabilities.
"Your children will have no income, on top of the fact that they lost their father. This is why I'm going to propose a decent payment of 50 golds per month to those children that are under the age of 16, and their mother or father has died in defender duties."
A somewhat sad smile on her angelic face.
"This might sound like 'yet another candidate promising somthing she can't keep', but think about it. I do not -promise- a lot. Wouldn't that make it easier for me to keep my promises?"
Clandra touches one of man's bicep, smiling gently. She then speaks with a purring voice.
"I -love- you all. Without you, the town would have been destroyed many a times. This is one way I can pay this debt back to you. Then theres also the other way…"
She grins impishly as she looks at the groin area of a private she knows isn't married. She giggles briefly and turns to exit. At the door she turns back.
"Give me a list of defender families that are not faring well currently, and I'll give them moneytary support already. Also, make a list for that other payment type."
-
Something dratic happens at the docks. The jobless people, they are going to work! Also, some of the more hardworking people, that usually spend no time with their families, take time off.
The reason is soon seen. Each of the districts in Peltarch has an amazing bard troupe, -and- food is served for free. Not only that, but the beautiful senatorial candidate, Clandra Galpen, walks from distrcit to district, and makes performances for free as well.
She watches the children eat hungrily, as the husbands get to spend time with their wives, watching the amazing performances of the city. Clandra speaks out:
_"This is what I will -promise- to you, when I have been made a senator. The city -will- have entertainment, regularly. You will have time to go watch it, and money too, as it's free.
I will hardly promise anything more, as promises are hard to keep. When I have been chosen to the senate however, I will listen to the desires of everyone who wishes to talk with me. I know you are hungry… so eat!
The food is free, as it will be in the coming festivals too. Besides, it's good!"_
Clandra starts to munch on some roasted deer.
She looks somehow like a common girl, with very queen-like features.
"Now go back, enjoy. Your happiness is far more important than mine."
The next day, everything seems to be normal again. The jobless remain jobless, everyone else is working again. The workers seem to be working with newfound enthusiasm though.
-
With a happy smile on her face, Clandra leads some of Peltarch's housewives to Wilting Flower. There are some former students of Clandra waiting there, behind chairs.
For the next three hours, Clandra and her friends give the women makeovers, as well as tips how to do things better and cheaper. She seems to enjoy this very much, and doesn't try to talk about the elections with the women.
The Wilting Flower also has some nice food around, although none of it very fatty. Clandra guides the women on what kind of food fills the stomach best, is well available, and is healthy too.
When the job is done, Clandra gives the housewives a small vial of perfume with them, to be used back home. Hopefully, their husbands will be happy as well.

@557283d1b9=RichardLuis:
Sir Richard post a question in public to the candidate for the senate. "I have the upmost respect for those who wish to run for public office. I wish to ask an important question.
With the war with the eastlanders the people who have been hurt the most have been the children of peltarch for their are many orphans who have lost their parents in this war. The city's orphanage is past full capacity their is no more space and their supplies are poor at best. What do you propose on doing to bring some sort of normacy to these children who have lost it all.
I have seen the faces of these childrens and held them tight as they cry for their mothers and fathers who are no longer with us. I tell them things will get better and that their loved ones fought for the safety of the city. They where brave and courages and mommy and daddy ask them to be the same in the days to come.
How will you deal with the issue. What they need is not a hand out but a hand up. A hand in helping them find new families that may love them and help them. The school is a wonderful idea but will it be open for those who can not afford it? What of the children in the orphanage and their future? And how will you if elected bring a sence of normacy and deal with the children of the overcrowded orphanage in a long term basis?Clandra smiles at Richard, her raven-black hair floating in the air freely, being the magically bautiful sight she always is.
"The school will be open to everyone. It's activity will be paid by private donations. Children in the orphanage, depending on their age, should be located in families, no? Question is, which families are taking them? They do cost the parents quite much. That is why I, should I be chosen to be a senator, will try to make it possible for the families that are unemployed to get "paid" for housing the children. Ofcourse I would, myself, check out the conditions of these children in regular basis, to see that they aren't mistreated. This would solve unemployment mostly, as well as the problem with children in orphanages."
Her face radiating beauty as she stands on somewhat heightened place of the area she's speaking in, to seem taller than most. Confident look, added to the spells of light around her. A true queen, one could say.

~The Market~
Clandra appears in the market, dressed in kara-turian, expensive outfit.
"Dear merchants of our gorgeous city, Peltarch! I am looking through the candidates in our current elections. I can't see anyone that understands the passion for shopping, shopping, that is what you make your living out of."
She keeps a bit of silence after that, looking through the merchants, with a grin on her face.
I am a shopper. I like to shop. I am also a well known bard, both in Narfell, and abroad. I determine the fashion, I say if something is out. I say who sells the best of apples.
She looks at one gnomish gardener man, who is selling apples, with a smile. The gnome blushes, she giggles, then continues her speach.
"Alas.. Peltarch is not wealthy enough as it is. We need visitors. Visitors equal money. Money will make our city grow, and a growing city offers more space for quality goods. Those quality goods may over time, bring even more visitors to Peltarch.
She looks through the different merchants.
"The people from Rashemen, Damara, perhaps even the continent of Kara-Tur! will come to our city. It -will- thrive. It has all that is needed for it. What choosing me as a senator would do, is making the city of Peltarch build up during -our- lifetime. That is what you all wish, isn't it.
She then pulls from a single string, the kara-turian outfit falls off her. It reveals her silken outfit underneath, the nearly see through one.
She gives a look at the kara-turian outfit, then sets it aflame with a simple spell. She knows that none of the shops sell kara-tur style. She then looks up from the burning pile of clothes, to the merchants.
"I am Clandra Galpen, who sets the fashion."
The wind blows, lifting her silken skirt nearly to her thigh level. Clandra is known for wearing little to none under her skirts.
"Now, who could sell me some warmer clothes, hm?
::she smiles pleasantly::
-
Many posters of Clandra, painted by her bardic friends or (former) students are spread around the city.
The posters consist of two things. Clandra in a somewhat erotic pose (She's good at that), and above that picture, "Vote for Clandra Galpen".
-
At the docks, Clandra can be often seen performing for free for the commoners around her. Her performances are done in quite revealing outfits, as usual, which bring her more visitors. Around the places she performs in, there are always couple of deers above campfires, and the tasty scent of those brings out more people to her.
She doesn't advertise herself much to the commoners, she just offers them fun time.
-
She answers to the questions with a smile on her face, and explains to those that ask that the days off would be payed for. She also seems to agree to quite some of the dates… her nights will be busy, but that's normal for Clandra.
-
Half the men are slack jawed, the other half are pledging support… and asking for a date.
