_City scouts noted the passage of a fair number of elven warriors into the Koa Toa caves. Some dozen swordsmen and would-be adventurers charged up the stone stairs calling for the return of their captive kin. A short time later a pair of warriors followed the same path; a hooded battle-scarred man with a heavy, battleaxe casually resting on his shoulder and a tough-looking elven man with a longbow. They also ascended the narrow stone steps into the Koa Toa caves.
…some time later a lone elven woman emerged from the cavern and stumbled down the stairs, drenched in blood. She met a group of surfacers garbed as woodsmen that had only just come in from the snowy Nars pass. The men and women spoke with the gore-splattered elf for a time until the two warriors, the archer and the fierce-looking axman, descended the stoney steps and joined them.
