Norwick's Chancellor speaks to the Defenders

As he passes through the well-guarded gatehouse into the city, the dark cleric Mecc informs the Defenders on duty that wispy creatures emerged from crags in the Giantspire cave walls. A ward against supernatural beasts, using a valuable diamond reagent, did nothing to slow their emergence. They were no more difficult to dispatch than naturally occuring monsters but their origin is a mystery to the priest.
