Zae Lainhune

  • [Due to the other Lainhune being an unplayable character for reasons, (yeah he is still alive though!) a new and improved Zae Lainhune who fits in all rules has been created.
    Character name: Zae Lainhune
    Account name: AzaelSoth
    History.

Lainhune was born in the lands of Anauroch in the capital city of Shade. Shadovar, with a Shade father, he acquired two mighty forms of arcana. (His mother being of the blood of Dragons, a common explaination for the magical abilities, he assumed, as what he found later in his studies, explaining his ability to remember all magic he chose to and call upon it as if it were a part of him would have him believe, at least from the certain works.) With Innate Magic and the Shadow Weave running cold in his veins, all magic came to him easily. Even more so as his father was Hadrhune, right hand of Most High Telamont. Hadrhune taught him as an apprentice all but the deepest secrets. Of good and bad within the Weaves, and how to manipulate both. In his house-library was where almost all time was spent rigorously studying the tomes and scrolls within. His father had underestimated his ability to learn because of the innate touch, though. Within Eight years he had memorized all of the lore within, and practiced each to the point of perfection.
He then continued to act as if he was studying, though each time his father left on mission for Telamont, his attention turned to creating his own spells and changing those offered. It was risky, but he seemed to have little to no problem with it. He mixed the two weaves, changing the spells to serve his cold blood better than they could have in the way the original maker had intended them to be used, making it a more passive thing to bring each to mind and use it. He became to skilled in the arts he was able to create a path of shadow, weaving slowly around the thousands of wards his father had placed on the section of library he did not allow even his own son to enter.
One day while his father was away in the lands of Thay, his favorite place to travel, Lainhune finally broke through the final wards and walked through his curving maze of shadow, ending at his father's private room. It had only two shelves of books, and it took the bright boy only two months to read through and commit them all to mind. The largest treasure he had found was his father's many studies and notes on the process of becoming a Lich, and the habits and powers of them. He left, removing the trail as he went. Once out, he checked the entire area for any proof of his treachery but found none. With the knowledge, he found a path to a height of power and ageless life rival to that of the lower Gods. Gods, he also learned everything of. Shar struck him as one of the higher, as she had control and inner knowledge of the Shadow Weave and had supposedly even created it. Another struck his fancy as well, though. Velsharoon, the Lich who had achieved Immortality. He would have to try to obtain trust from each, and through that inner knowledge, he decided right then and there.
His father found sign of his treachery though. With his young age and lack of experience, Lainhune had missed a weakest of spell in the corner of the room. It served as a scrying device, and Hadrhune arrived back from his mission directly on the planned time line. After his report to Telamont, Hadrhune went directly to the library in which Fourteen year old Lainhune was studying an intermediate scroll by the wizard Bigby. Without a word the Shadow Mage began casting, and for the last component spoke the word Lainhune. The boy turned, only in time to see the tendril of shadow slam into his forehead as if there were no flesh or bone blocking mind. It didn't harm him, physically. It drained his spell casting ability and power back to that of the lowest novice.
Soon after, Hadrhune had prepared all required for teleportation around he and Lainhune. He then did the rigorous spell and they were both in Narfell, near the city gates of Peltarch, at the end of the Nars Path. Knowing it to be a small and inopportune section of Faerun, he left him and returned to Shade as if he had no son. Lainhune woke soon after, glancing around at the foreign settings. Thoughts went inward for the boy. Hadrhune had made the greatest flaw of his life, as none of Lainhune's memory was gone. He knew reteaching himself all of it would take only a few years, and perhaps this land had some form of opportunity to gather the required materials for turning himself to Lich. He slowly stood, pale lips curled upwards in slight smile. Wind blew through his shoulder length black hair. Perhaps his temporary exile wouldn't be so bad was the thought in conniving boy's mind as he walked towards the large gates of Peltarch. That is, untill he attempted to call upon the loving chill of the Shadow Weave and there was no effect.
[Playnote: He has no shade ability bonuses, and wouldn't unless he was somehow able to tap back into the shadows and infuse his body once more.]
