The circus has come to Jiyyd! (or rather...)

  • **Strange days for Jiyyd. Strange days indeed.

Within just the past week there have been a dozen sightings of young men and women, equiped and armed like rangers but too young yet to be out and about on their own, all scampering about in open-faced helms, brightly dyed in a variety of colors, with large stag horns. The youths have been involved in a number of incidents. Two had to be taken to the temple with heavy shock burns after trying to catch a Willow-wisp in a net. Yet another joined them the next day, his face and hands scratched up badly but beaming as he held (and would not release) a simple chicken egg.

Some were spotted stalking through the high grass near the orc lands, seemingly intent on the ground and utterly ignorant of the humanoid threat, while others still have been pestering the locals to escort them east "to that place with the things …and the stuff ...and the other stuff!"

Every day a few more arrive, some alone and some in small groups. Each group seems highly focused on a task and, if queried, they respond immediately and enthusiastically with claims of quests, glory, and something about a mighty and omnipotent moose.**

(OOC) Additional Information for Cariboo Squires only:

The frequency of Cariboo Quests has increased of late, with at least a dozen in the past month.
The Cariboo Knight has begun recruiting squires again, presenting brilliantly-colored open-faced stag helms to enthusiastic wouldbe heroes. He seems to have been difficult to track down by the veteran Squires who had quested in years past, and none have been included on his most recent adventures. Furthermore, there has been little-to-no sign of the Good Cariboo (who appeared rarely, and always in the form of a meek and silent white stag).
