Another odd day in Peltarch's city square...

  • **A small ruckus breaks out in the town square as a dozen young adventurers in brightly-colored open-faced stag helms dash about the common area, prying up cobblestones and tiles. A couple of the Guard quickly move in and arrest the troublesome youths, starting with a pair that were attempting to push over the sun dial.

The enthusiastic wouldbe heroes speak out loudly and proudly as they are dragged to the jail, vowing to be on a holy quest for the valiant Order of the Cariboo Squires. "We know the Fungi is here!" cries one as a woman of the Guard drags him easily out of the square "the Great Cariboo, all glory to he who trots, will have it by my hand!"

"Not bloody likely" a citizen nearby murmurs, returning to her book after the commotion settles down.**

(OOC) Additional Information for Cariboo Squires only:

The frequency of Cariboo Quests has increased of late, with at least a dozen in the past month.
The Cariboo Knight has begun recruiting squires again, presenting brilliantly-colored open-faced stag helms to enthusiastic wouldbe heroes. He seems to have been difficult to track down by the veteran Squires who had quested in years past, and none have been included on his most recent adventures. Furthermore, there has been little-to-no sign of the Good Cariboo (who appeared rarely, and always in the form of a meek and silent white stag).

  • Mirkali, known by many as one of the older Cariboo squire veterans, and has even been rumoured to call upon Cariboo for help in ressurection, usually flaunting of his green helm being original, with naturally green antlers, is often times eyeing Myth a bit, when accompanying him, he'll usually correct Myth in the stories he tells of adventures past, or even go as far as to correct his preachings of faith. Often times, when wearing his own Cariboo helm, he looks at the new squires with a bit of revoltion, and mumbles about needing a vision from Cariboo

This is, of course, when he's actually seen in Peltarch

  • "That sundials value has to amount to thousands, and as for the hallowed paving of the commons…" Magistrate Barrim is heard to say...

Magistrate Barrim sends to the city stonemasons for a full costing to fine the arrested youths, their parents to be held liable for those below means to support themselves

Noting their garb, he reminds the guardhouse to charge anyone who is arrested for any other offence and their belongings stored - if similar garb is found it is to be burnt and those found in posession charged with charges of aiding and abetting known criminals.

"Disorder and vandalism will be cut out of our city", he praises the guard for their quick actions which prevented too much damage.

  • Later that day, word of the commotion reaches Senator Evendur Mildsilver's office in the form of a report from the Guard. He reads over the happenings, the disdain on his face exponentially increasing as he nears the final sentences. He mutters to himself, annoyed.

"The last thing the city needs is a herd of delusional fanatics who consider themselves wild beasts sowing the seeds of chaos. I do hope the Guard continues its policy of arresting the disturbers."

He files the report with about fifty others and moves on to other matters.

  • On hearing that someone DARED to interfere with the precious Sundial Eowiel publically vows to quash the Carriboo Squires' ambitions at every turn, disrupt their plans and generally make life not worth living for them.
