Duergar Mage
-
Hushed whispers in the inn speak of a dark robed Duergar magi that attacked the people of Jiyyd under a cloak of invisibility. Eventually the mage was cornered in a cave near the bat cave in Jiyyd. A brave party of adventurers bore into the cave worried one of their number may have fallen prey to the magi. Not half an hour later the adventurers came back from the cave grievely wounded and missing one of their own. On the surface they healed and planned to venture back in to rescue their comrade when the magi chose to atatck them yet again. This time a large half orc in Legion colors whether born of bravery or stupidity chased the magi back into the cave alone and slew the magi. From there a large group of adventurers went deeper into the cave to find their comrade fighting past several more duergar warrios to rescue the lost man.
Then the cave shook something furious and the party fled the caves before the rocks themselves would seal them in with the dead duergar. The adventurers were elft on the surface wondering from wence the Duergar had come.

((the grey ones are obviously aware of the slow pace in which things are constructed in Narfell. They figure they have another 40 years before anything sturdy is there. Besides…they can feel the love from the house hosting a lich directly above the mine. =)) ))

((::grins:: that is why I described it as a cave near the old bat cave))

Aelhaearn wonders what possessed the duergar to run into a dwarven construction project and seems surprised the mage wasn't smitten immediately by the patrons of the temple there. He then wonders if the temple should have been built someplace else considering the apparent instability of the land there.
He hopes he has misunderstood which bat cave the local gossips in the inn are referring to.
