Character: Thomas Haley

Thomas Haley was born in Cormyr as the son of Jonathan and Debby Haley. His father being a Tormite warrior in the Purple Dragons, and his mother a priestess of Selune. The two of them had met when Jonathan had become wounded during a skirmish with bandits, and he was delivered to the nearest temple for healing, where Debby was working at the time.

Thomas had a relatively quiet, peaceful upbringing. At age 16, he joined the Purple Dragons, following in his father's footsteps. He soon proved to be an excellent soldier, and was assigned to a unit that investigates strange arcane happenings, not unlike the Cereleun Knights of Narfell.
He also proved to have a knack for learning, and loremongering, proving his worth as a rescourceful and skillful soldier and leader.
He reached the rank of lieutenant in four short years.

By this time he had also met Eve, the daughter of one of the generals of the Knights. Their friendship soon grew to love. However, Eve's father forbad any marriage, seeing that Eve was to marry a man of noble birth, as he was himself. Eve, however, ran off to Thomas. The enraged general, upon hearing this, charged Thomas with treason and any other crime he could think off. Thomas was captured, and his life was spared only by a desperate plea from Eve, who promised to never meet with Thomas again, and marry a "proper" man. Instead of execution, Thomas was sentenced to banishment from Cormyr, upon punishment of death, by the military courts.

Taking the first ship out of the country, Thomas left behind his life and fled to the far land of Narfell to start a new life.
