Elf

Elf wandered into the town from the south gate, Wolf at her heels and Bird flying overhead squawking in complaint about the snow.
"Hush Bird. Time for elf to look in North places for things to see and learn. If bird not like snow than go find tree and rest."
From the time of her sexual awakening til now elf had wandered the woods and green places to the east and south and west of the forest she was born in. Learning of animals and trees, speaking with beasts and birds to find the places of the Unicorn and enjoy the adventure of a new sight each dawn as she travelled.
"But now time comes for elf to see the north places. The cold places, yes, but also beautiful" she had said to her self a few months back.
She peered at the town in some trepidation. "This will be bad again. Well. Elf hopes not, but people ask names and elf forget again. Elf could be called anything people like but they make her choose own name. Oh well…must think and try to remember name again, too long between town places makes elf not need it. Wolf not need name and bird and bear and tree. But people need name or get confused. Who is silliest? Probably people, but hard to say so without seeming rude and elf not want to be rude to people."
Flowers drifting from her hair in her wake she wandered through the town, bare feet crunching in the snow, wolf padding along beside her and bounding off now and then to sniff excitedly at new scents.
"Hmm. Sign. Sign st Norwick so elf is in right place at least this time. Silly ruins to south made elf confused. Thought Norwick people all gone and place taken back by Silvanus. Good plan too, but not tell peoples that, they like buildings better than trees. Silly peoples. Oops..talking out loud again, wolf. People might get cross with elf."
The small boned, and delicately beautiful elven girl paused, looking at all the buildings around wondering which one would be the right one to go in and tell someone that she was staying a while. Probably only a few years, but if adventures came and kept her busy maybe longer.
Noticing a sign that said in the common tongue that the building was the seat of the Council elf smiled to herself.
"Here must be place. Now wolf, be good and stay here. Elf only be a minute or two and then we go look for peoples to say hello to and make friends. Elf has seen that other elfs and dwarfs and human people and halfling people and gnome people all visit town places so lots of people to be friends with. But wolf, you wait to make friends unitl elf is back from inside building place. People sometimes not like wolf-friending if no-one to explain it."
So saying the elven girl wandered into the building, a trail of flowers left in the snow behind her, and asked for papers for a stay of a while.
