Gypsy Gossip

Sitting in front of the campfire, Syrano places a hand on the ground. Then an ear. The vibrations of the small quakes could barely be felt, but he could hear them through the solid ground loud and clear. He look around, not particularly at anything, take in a deep breath, and again he listens. Silence.
"What was that?", he says, while looking cautiously in different directions.

A series of small earth tremors and lockslides have hit the canyons around the Gypsy Camp. Luckily no one has been hurt yet… but the King has let his people know to avoid venturing too close to the cliff walls until the situation can be figured out. Everything from giants in the mountains, to druids working on something, to the ogre mages of the caves doing evil magics, to the ghosts that are haunting the hidden pass have been attributed.
-
_Rumours spreads around the camp that the druids are calling great earth magics in their glenn. Tales of strange beasts entering and not leaving abound.
Word of pits appearing and dissappearing as the earth shifts sparks speculation as to what is occuring._
-
Nate hears the rumour as he bites down on an apple, sitting near Kaona's seat at the fires. He swallows the bite and says casually with half-open eyes…
"Maniacs. The both of them. Tarrick calls me crazy for ignoring a mage's warning from two years ago, then he goes off to have tea with Rass. Brilliant, just brilliant."
Chuckles and takes another bite from his apple, anxious to have a conversation with Tarrick next time they meet.
-
_Word spreads quickly through the camp that the pink-haired Gali, Penny Lane, along with one Tarrick Dotson, set off to meet and converse with the Red Dragon, Rass, as Gali and Gaje alike watched on, dumbfounded. Each seemed to have their own reason for the trip: Tarrick to become a servant to Rass, as his god had demanded. Penny, driven by intense curiosity to speak with Rass, with the hopes that Rass might shed some light on what Penny might expect as she embraces her own dragon blood. Worried for their safety and, quite frankly, doubting their sanity, several individuals, including Cotton, Klaz, Lilly, and Raryldor, persued them into Rass' cave.
It appears that everyone returned alive and well, as Penny and Tarrick could be seen the next morning openly discussing a return trip. They admit that Rass did not reply to them as they spoke to her in her tongue, but they both cite their survival as testament to the fact that they may have made progress in the encounter._
((If a DM would be interested in possessing Rass for a future encounter, be that for the benefit or detriment of our characters, that would be awesome :)))

_Arise and show
Which way to goThe, one held last
With in the hidden passAshkali his name
As says the chant of Divination echoing from the ritual circle. To find, we must grind.
Holding the two tomes, hand in hand. Klaz, Sy, Jirka and Cotton all seem to be rather shaken._

the usually happy and friendly tala seems to give Belade the cold shoulder. when asked why she mumbles something about folks taking without giving back and hurting her friends.
-
Hearing of the Shadow, Magpie chatters around the fires, pale eyes drifting restlessly about
Ooh! Shadows are dead nasty… best to hunt them by daylight they always said, otherwise they slope off and disappear too easy. Nasty shivery things. Nothing a lot of bows or magic couldn't take down though, eventually. I'd much rather keep my distance from them. Hey, did it say anything? Why's it here? O'course if it said anything it 's a lot more worrying than a shadow... could be a wraith even. You get a lot of trouble round here from dead things?
-
A paladin has moved into camp, going by the name of Belade Galadon. Upon arrival, she took the time to get to know most of the gypsies, especially the children and women. She also informed everyone that if they needed help, they merely had to ask her and she would be happy to be of assistance.

Sy'wyn is seen staggering back into the camp from the Spider Woods, badly bleeding, his cloak torn, and carrying a dead full blood Romani in his arms. He headed straight to Katya's tree with the body, followed closesly by Cotton and the merchant Nico Black. Tale is swiftly spread of how the Romani died bravely attempting to keep a large undead shadow from passing the gates of the woods into the camp. Sy'wyn was apparently beaten in the same fight, though he often includes that the shades demands were unreasonable….

::Romani commoner sees the note posted and after reading it, tears it down::
If a Romani or Gali wishes to make amends then do so face to face. Seek out those you offended and stand up for your actions.
::he crumbles the note and tosses it in the fire::
-
a note on the shack is posted:
"This is my formal apology to any and all Crafter's Union memebers who may have been offended by my words on our last encounter.
As I promised I would apologise If I ever saw one of its member's take care of the driad tree evn if it was once. Recently I have indeed seen one of its members head there and water the tree's roots. And as I promised here is my most sincere aplogy to your community"

::anyone who speaks to Katya about the books or the scroll receive a short and to the point answer to not question her in regards to these items. The King and elders of the Romani are deciding on what to do next and until that decision is made nothing can be gained when asking any of the elders or the king::
-
Fadia has been seen making more trips into the hidden pass of late, only not for her usual reasons of spider-extermination and helping Rary open cocoons. Instead, she seems to be searching for something….
-
Raryldor continues his work in the forest, slicing open cocoons containing dead humanoids and giving them proper burials, consecrating a good deal of ground in hidden "graveyards" throughout the hidden pass.
-
::whispers around the camp can be heard of the elders gathering together for days to discuss the undead surrounding the camp. When the elders finally break, dark expressions can be seen on their faces. Katya was seen carrying 2 books and a scroll case. A look of concern hardly ever seen on Katya's face is described in rumors by all who saw her walking back to her cave::
-
_Klaz kicks a roll of turf, with hands in his pockets seeming annoyed and distraught with different assortments of problems. He mentions a ring quite a lot. The books, the note being translated. Also another private matter.
Waiting, just waiting._
-
A small elf has been seen lingering around the fires more often, stealing glances to Katya's tree off and on. Wrapped in his cloak, the hood down as often as up now, he seems eager to hear some word as to the next action to take to make the camp safer…
-
_Nearly four months after their departure…. The five travellers, Arandor, Klaz, Yuna, Sy'wynn, and Fadien return to the camp safely. A little sore and weary from their experiences, but quite happy to be home nonetheless. They waste no time and head straight for Katya's tree to recount their journey.
Not long after they are seen exiting the tree, upon being asked what they have found out they say only one thing. That they are waiting on word from Katya, she will decide who needs to know what.
Arandor spends the next few days sharing drinks and stories with his friends and family. His young daughter Sarah'linae clings to him wherever he goes, as happy to see her father as he is to see her. He steals a moment whenever possible to go and speak with Katya in his own attempts to find out what he risked his life for. As the days go by he seems more and more frustrated, but brightens when he sees his daughter. He stacks blocks for her to knock down and laughs when she does, his mind relieved of the things that seem to stress him._

After Katya nursed Cotton back to health, all that week Cotton was seen talking with those close to her. They speak of this Arwen person and explain all that they saw and understood. Cotton at first seemed to not understand any of it, getting violently ill at the thought of another woman and running off into the camp to think and be alone.
Now, any time that Arwen/Yurana is brought up she instantly gets furious and will gladly explain that is she ever finds this blood sucking fark, she will kill her. If pressed for any information, she can only share what others have spoken, her memories seemingly washed of it all.
As of late Cotton has been spending most of her time with Ohtar'a, Tala and Kaona. Sitting around the camp's main fires and patrolling the spider forest.
