Gypsy Gossip

  • Star finds the whole thing very funny and only a concerted effort by several of the guards in the area prevent her from copying Ty and doing the same herself.

  • A few Romani and Gali who rise early in the morning speak of the disturbing sight, as the day broke through the forest canopy, of Tyche—the Gali gambler—streaking stark naked around camp, performing one lap and retreating back into the Communal Tree. If asked about it, Ty shakes his head and smirks his gambler's smirk, replying, "Joker's wild."

  • Strange sensations pulsed across the land of Narfell. Feelings of deja vu and time coming to brief stand stills. As abruptly as it came, the phenomenon passed.

  • tala is not seen about the camp much immediately following arandor's mysterious return. Although her whereabout are unknown most assume she is spending time with arandor. When she is seen she looks pale and tightlipped.

  • Fadien Blackwood is seen stomping around camp hearing a dozen different versions of what happened in the woods. She searches franticly for her family, unable to find Sy or Alvar. Many of the rumors driving the young elf to madness; she is seen curled up in a ball muttering to herself, sometimes crying. The only words understood through her sobs are in elven:

"…my family is being broke up again..."

  • In the days shortly following the return of Arandor and Alvar some of the Romani Elders can be seen by their side speaking in hushed whispers. The Romani elders were rumored to have met with Arandor in his home on one occassion, but what they discussed is kept tight lipped. Rom and Gali both speak of honor and trust and more importantly… the oath.

  • Still unsure what is happening, many heard as the Banites repeatedly sought help from the Gali for two who had fallen in the caves, and many saw Rolan pleading with Sy'wyn to reconsider, and help acquire a box, to which Sy's only response was:

e: there will be no barter with drow….

  • _Word spread quickly about the camp… No one is sure what is going on... But a few simple facts are clear...

A large group of Druids, Banites, and the two Gali Elders were seen entering the woods to cause as much trouble for the rumoured Drow as they could... in the morning only the druids returned, with the body of one fallen... much later on, Sy'wynn returns with the Banites, and leaves the camp... much, much later... Alvar Blackwood is seen aiding the Elder Arandor out of the woods... both of them bleeding heavily... but Arandor much worse off, grim, pale... of fey expression.

The rumours about what happened in the woods run rampant...

Some believe that Arandor was captured by the drow... tortured, and sent back to unleash a new found malice upon all...

Some believe that could never happen, and that Arandor slew the drow and that he and Alvar fought their way back home...

Others seem to think that Sy'wynn betrayed his oath... Abandoning his fellow Gali in the worst possible way...

Some even go so far as to claim Sy'wynn has fallen... and now serves the Banites and their church...

Whatever happened out there... It is clear that Arandor has changed... for the better or worse, only time will tell._

  • _Arandor shows up in the camp one evening, after a few days of travel… Small traces of snow are still visible in the leaf-like feathering about the shoulders of his cloak.

He carries with him a crude, antlered helm, the name 'Mushkug' is whispered among the more travelled Rom... Some say it holds a great power... Over the very weathers and the Frost Giants themselves! But some say it is simply a pair of antlers jammed through the body of a badger long since dead...

Nonetheless it seems to be an item of great interest to the Elder, and he takes it to Baba Katya for inspection._

  • _Sy'wyn stumbled back into the camp along with Pete, and a Gali dwarf, mumbling something about drow and pets… mainly being a large render. Those passing through the spider pass can still see its corpse left to rot by the adventurers who ran from the scene shortly after its death....

    Some running faster then others....

Less then a week later, the Elder was spotted in the refugee camp healing all he could and falling to his knowledge of herbs when his prayers were no longer heard... Those few that know him well, can see the exhaustion straining in his face, as he seen not resting, but only taking a few hours reverie when and as he can....._

  • Word has spread that Rolan has returned to camp. He came in the other day, his armor, his sword and his face covered in dry blood. Dropping his armor and sword to the ground a huge gash could be seen on his chest still bleeding heavily. He just sits by the fires and opens some wine and starts to drink, refusing healing by anyone who approaches him. He drinks most of the night before passing out against the tree. He can be heard muttering something in his sleep about slaves.

  • The word spreads around camp about the landslides in the Nars just outside camp. Seems that constant rain and storms have caused the cliffaces to become unstable. The Gali and Rom are warned to be careful when travelling through, especially when it's raining.

  • After a month of almost not being seen, Amith is spotted carrying a bundle into Baba Katya's tree. Reappearing shortly after, she harassed two people loafing at the fires, shouting something about being cooped up to long, and saying that Tempus will be appeased, she is seen leaving the pass at a dead run, axe and shield out and ready, her armor showing signs of being well cared for while she could not fit in it. Later she returns, covered in blood, Jerr beside her looking concerned, though it appears none of the blood is her own. Jerr retrieved the bundle from Katya, while Amith wiped the blood off. The couple is seen spendng the next few hours peacefully at the fire in conversation, while holding their newborn son… both faces lit by smiles...

  • @f035bc6fa6=Coaan:

Talk circles that Callain had been killed after a trip to the giantspire kobold caves with Gailyn and Lector. There is no word on what actually transpired, but only that three men left and two men returned.

Quickly rumors spread (because of a narcissistic elf named Alvar) that Callain has been found, a little worse for wear, and is recovering from his ordeal. Somehow he ended up as food for the spiders and was helped back to camp by Alvar and Pyavain Blackwood.

  • Rolan was seen walking into camp in quite a bad mood. He went straight to Dart and bought a bunch of supplies and he just started walking south and hasnt been seen since. Anyone who happened to be near him only heard him say the following "I give up", some believe that he has denounced Bane and gone off to study at a Helmite temple.

  • ::Rumors spread of a Drow and a serveral Shades fighting in the woods. Some folks whisper that the drow can think it is their woods but the Romani own the woods both past and present.

"Let the ghosts and the undead take care of the Drow. Or the Drow take care of the ghosts and undead. Either way, at least one problem will be solved". ::

  • _Rumors spread quickly of animals being chased from the woods, of the adventurers who went to see what had frightened them so, and the spiders that had climbed up from the ravines and into the woods to stop the adventurers. Seen darting amongst the spiders, and into and out of globes of darkness was a slim dark skinned figure. His blade struck quickly here and there as his laughter spread through the pass, claiming the woods as his alone and mocking the others as trespassers who would soon leave…

Sy'wyn is seen sitting by the fires, staring south into the pass, a cold look in his eyes, his face hard below his hood. If any ask what is wrong, he whispers only one word... half growled.._

    e: Drow…

  • Rumors go around the camp quickly about the drow that has been spotted in the pass yet again. Some say that he has claimed the pass as his own personal forest and some say that he is just a figment of imaginations. Stories told to scare the camp children.

  • Those entering and leaving the camp late at night swear to hearing a soft and melancholy piping as they pass below the watch fire. Obviously lacking in practice and skill the soft notes still seem to bring tears to many eyes. Some swear to seeing a dark cloaked form huddled by the fire, though all who have gone to investigate closer have found no one.
