Gypsy Gossip
-
Tala has enquired about Katya's pet bagder and also her nephew Esther rumors fly as to why…
-
The minor tremors continue to rock the Gypsy Pass and Gypsy Camp… even going down into the Hidden Pass. Gnolls have also been sighted on the clifftops. They even had the AUDACITY to rope down and butcher a cow then drag it's carcass up the cliffface... all the while distracting the gali who were trying to shoot them from thier cliffledge hideaway! Beware of arrowshot near the cliff walls!
-
_A forboding gloom, darker than usual hung over the camp one night… Several Gali followed what they believed to be the spirit of Kovachi... Followed him to the ruins in the Gnoll lands... yet the Gnolls were nowhere to be found.
Days later, they return... There is a certain peace over the camp that has not been felt in some time. Whispers around the campfire speak of a good man, a son... lured by his father's word... betrayed by one of his own...
The spirit of the murdered son, Kovachi, is laid to rest after 1000 years... Reliving his cruel fate over and over again. The chest was returned to him, for only he would find it valuable. Letters from his father, perhaps all he had left...
Arandor is seen making use of what little peace they had achieved for a time, he spends it with his daughter, laughing and telling her stories. Those who know him best can see how much he worries for her, and of what the days to come shall bring..._
-
_Arandor returns from the woods, along with Sul'lina, Bow, and Penny. They are beaten and bruised, as is a usual occurance these days. Only difference this time is that they are soaking wet as well…
Whispers around the campfires speak of a ghostly woman wandering through the woods, strange runes, and even a mysterious underwater staircase in the cave of the Hidden Pass.
No one is sure what it is they have stumbled upon, but it is clear that is something that may help shed some light on the ancient Rom's curse._

((orc was a mis drop. Ignore the orc. OOC off))
::rumors start to spread of a ghostly figure of a man walking from the hidden pass. Down thru the gates to the camp. Seems to stop by the river on the way. Washing his face or maybe just having a drink of water. His path enters the gypsy path outer camp. He kneels by the main camp fire. Prays then walks off to the main camp area. Seems the gates and locks do not stop his progress. Eventually walks into the Gnolls woods. looks down into the cravasses to the cold caves. Rumors are high as to whether the ghostly figure is that of Romani or some other undead soul lost among the living. Some say he jumps into the cravass to commit suicide which is why he walks the lands. Other say he stops short of jumping in and just vanishes as sunrise approaches. Some even say that they have seen the cravass full of water and have seen the ghostly figure fall into the water as if pushed::
-
Rumor has it that Cave Spiders have been sighted in the pass, nearly killing a Gali or two. If these Cavers take up permanent residence, the pass will become a lot more dangerous, not to mention there's a threat to the camp itself then.. as if there weren't enough yet..
-
((as far as I know that orc was a misdrop please ignore heh heh))
-
::A Black and red cat like creature was rumored to be seen at this great battle out in the fields trying to help keep the great ogres at bay… their was also A Horned hin seen running in and out of where the Ogres were camped goating them on and looting everything and everyone in sight... It is even mentioneed he looted one fallen in battle..... All Gaje hins walking through camp have been seen given the evil eye of late....
-
Devath is seen around the camp, spreading the same tale. He also mentions the mysterious appearance of an orc during the attack, which seemed to fight both the defenders and the ogres… Perhaps the orcs and ogres have a war of their own, who will say?
-
Murmurs across camp flow about the mighty battle at the gnoll bridge, many follow the words of Sy and Elrin, but some say otherwise.
Claims of hidden treasure an lost trader's gold circulate through camp. Whispers are heard that the story could just be a ruse to keep curious eyes out.
But truth or not, the gates have been replaced with mighty Cherry lumber.
Gossip now spreads that perhaps it wasn't a yaun-ti seen in camp, but Grag in woman's clothes.
-
_Word spreads of the battle that took place at the gates to the Giantspire Ruins… The Gate was broken down and a few Gali and some Gaje fought to keep the Ogres at bay.
Rumors run amok as to how the Ogres were able to attack in such force... a spy in our midst... sabotage? Some think that the Ogres were simply riled up by a group that ventured into the cold caves...
Either way, Arandor and Sy'wynn are seen advising the Gali to not let 'any' untrustworthy folk through our gates... And it is recommended that people stay out of the Ruins entirely.
Cotton works hard to rebuild the shattered gate... fashioning the boards from cherry wood to make it stronger than ever._

Nars Skald sets down by the fire and starts polishing an elven Longhorn he has in his pack.
"The trouble is just what Sy said it is. We are mixing the incidents and thinking them all one, or worse, taking isolated things and ignoring connections"
"Ghost stories? I have one. Cotton, Arthro, myself, and a few others went into the spider woods. Met undead by the fey cave. In exit we met a ghost or spirit. It looked gypsy. It lead us right back to camp where it prayed by the fire. Lipreading it I could see it was a simple prayer to Mystryl. Then it lead us into gnoll lands and down into the cold caves. Some of us followed willingly, others just fell into it."
shivers
"I ever mention I hate caves? Ah well. In we go and plow through the gnolls and down to the ogres. There it got worse. We lost track of the spirit, and the ogres started to organize. They were picking off our weaker people first, bypassing the front heavies."
shivers again
"2 berserkers took a liking to me and I damn near died. I barely get up when this red and black cat hits me, raking my ribs and giving me stripes of blood down my back. Then the damn thing went after the ogres. It lead us out clearing a path and gods help any ogre or gnoll that got in its way."
smiles softly
"Wierdest thing was when we got to the top the darn thing went where I asked it to. I pointed and it attacked. It 'looked' like what I have hear Malar Cats look like but this thing was helping us a lot. probably saved a few lives in the process. But then, right before the bridge a stray arrow of ours hit it on the flank as it finished off the last of the beasts between us and freedon. It struck back and then bounded off, leaving me, for one, thankfull . . . and confused."
Glances at the sky.
"Almost Dawn. I will tell you a bit more after I play the sun up"
he rises and faces east and waits patiently for sunrise

Oreth tells anyone who will listen that undead and umber hulks, presumably under the command of Sinti, have been seen excavating the fey caves, digging for something.
When interrupted, they get very angry. Obviously.
-
Sy'wynn and Arandor spread word around the camp… Everyone one must pay attention to any and all strange encounters.... Especially ghost stories. He makes it clear that time is running out and the camp cannot afford to overlook anything. The Gali are asked to speak with Arandor or Sy'wynn if they notice anything strange, no matter how insignifigant it may seem...
-
_Arandor nods his agreement with Sy'wynn's words… Whisps of smoke curling idly from his long-stemmed, wooden pipe as he smokes near the fires. He waits for Sy to finish before adding.
"Yes Sy, I believe that even now valuable clues have been missed or overlooked… All because of disagreement, and dissention among us. In this more than anything, we must all be of one mind. Lay your petty squabbles to rest, if you have them... There are more important matters to attend to. As for the box, I know only this... That the spirit of Kovachi may be able to aid us. As for the ring, I know very little... Yet be wary of Sinti and his agents, they must not recover these items. For if Ashkali's visions are true, it will be our downfall..."
He goes silent again and resumes his usual, casual, smoking. Losing himself in thought as he watches the dancing flames._
-
Sy'wyn rises from his normally quiet spot slightly away from the fires, and walks over to those gathered, after a moment, allowing other conversations to fall quiet, he reaches up and lowers the hood of his cloak down to his shoulders and speaks softly:
Fellow Gali. Recent events with the Eastlanders and the Drow may have distracted many of us from the still real threat of the curse that still brings undead from the ground in the woods. We still seek the removal of this curse, and recent things have been brought forth. First… there are two items to be sought. One is a ring, the other a box. There is reason to believe the box is in the camp itself, the ring we have little information on. Both must be found. As such, I ask that all pay close attention to their surroundings. If there is -anything- found under suspicious circumstances, please bring it to an Elder, or Katya, until we can determine if it is something of use to bringing these dark times to a peaceful end. smiles a bit If not it will be returned, i will not deny coin to a good Gali's purse. Also, remember, if a Gaje happens to pick up a box, or a ring while in the woods, or while visiting in the camp… ask politely for it to be turned over. If they refuse... detain them as needed until such can be determined. Times call for drastic measure. If you travel the woods after dark, be wary, and be watchful, both of yourselves and those around you. I will try to answer any questions as they may arise, but most important... act as necessary to stop this problem, and tell of anything that happens, many people acting without information is no good to us. We will need every eye, and every set of hands to deal with this. There are two Gaje in particular... Describes Mirkali, and Merin If they are seen entering the woods, keep an eye on them, confront them if they act suspect. I will leave you to your discussions…..
Sy'wyn pulls his hood up and low again, and walks back to his spot where he settles quietly and looks off over the fires.

@c47ce8bb8a=Belthor:
The elders request Sy'wyn Blackwood and Arandor
_::word quickly spreads around the camp that the elders have been meeting and now are asking any who see Sy'wyn or Arandor to let them know their presence is requested to meet with all the camp elders::
::Rumors spread regarding what this meeting could be about. Is it because of the eastlander's? The Drow? The undead spirits of the Romani of ancient past? Some say Sy'wyn and Arandor are going to be banished from the camp. Others defend such talk, calling those who think such a thing foolish. Many see Sy'wyn and Arandor as they pass by and seem to whisper to each other::_
(I will catch you two IG for the meeting. No need to seek me out. I will find you , Keep this IC folks. The only OOC stuff on this thread is what you are reading right now).
-
Word spreads to be on guard in the Gypsy Pass near the north cliffs. Gnolls have been seen to be lowering themselves on ropes to kill the milk cows of the Gypsies. They have also been rolling large boulders off the clifftops in hopes of catching a Camp member off gaurd. They have even been seen skulking along the clifftops taking pock-shots at camp members with thier arrows.
-
_Cotton is seen asking around for Klaz or if anyone has heard from him. Her concern seems to grow at hearing he was last seen heading out before the Eastlander talks, but seems confused at all the other rumors.
Some speak of Klaz running off to start a Carni in Luskin, others say he went to harvest his crops of Pink Potatoes. While yet others have told of him returning to his Kingship in some far away land.
Through all this even more rumors are heard through out camp. Many speak of Drow now in the far South Pass who have been hunting those who enter. Odd rock slides and many quakes, some say darkness has been casted about during such oddities.
Clandra has also been spoken of, many swearing she was in camp with her half yuan-ti baby._
-
_The hearing eyes and watchful ears of the camp tell of Klaz and Arthos moving into the Nars just hours before the bandit meeting took place.
The white haired, pale faced fellow has not been seen since._
