Illa and her Summoner, Sarth
-
In the ice planes there is a certain spot in the fields where the ice is juuuust so. You can curl up in it and it cools your scales and crunches with a delicious sound. Illa had just found a spot like that, away from the rest of them, and was curling up when she felt the 'pull'.
Rolling her eyes she leaned into the pull and was tugged out of the plane and to the one the mortals used. It was a young wizard, so green she wanted to pet him. He eagerly held a small . . . very small . . . tome before him and his eyes were so wide she almost laughed at the shock he experienced with the success of the summoning.
'Um . . . I am Sarth" He stammered.
She flapped silently in front of him, he already knew her name or he wouldn't have been able to call her across the expanse. Looking about the room she winced a little. It was a sparce cabin with little food and sunlight (eugh sunlight) beaming in through an open window.
" . . . and so I want to collect all of them and make a library of my own, maybe a magic shop some day." He gushed, she listened with only half an ear as she considered how to get this guy to move north. She vaguely wondered how long he had been talking.
" . . . and so to achieve these ends I think I may have to move out of this cabin on the edge of my fathers lands and move somewhere more influential." He was still nattering on but now she saw an opening.
She flapped to the window and endured the light for a moment while she pointed her nose to the North. Looking back she saw that he was looking at a map and ignoring her. She draped a cloak across his shoulders (well made one at that) but he brushed it aside as he studied the map of the known world. Frustrated she swooped down and tore the map, leaving him only the Northern piece for himself. The rest was dropped in a chamber pot in the corner.
"Ah. Well I suppose you leave me little choice, eh?" Amazingly he wasn't mad. Almost seemed relieved for the decision to have been made. "Seeing as I don't have a map to anywhere else, north it is." He squinted at the map. "Icelace Lake"
She flapped enthusiastically as he packed his things and counted out his remaining coin to pay for passage to the north.
Taking one last look at the sall cabin he sighed. "I hope they have mages up there. Hard to learn things all by yourself." Illa cuffed him on the back of the head as she swooped by.
"Sorry Illa, I guess I am not all by myself, now, am I?"
