Trouble on the Graveyard Shift.

  • The guards report having found a young man of approximately twenty winters lying dead by Ashald Park. He had been stabbed once in the chest and once in the neck with a short blade, most likely a knife or dagger. His valuables had been removed.

The guard also report a single mark on the man's forhead.

    I

The man has been taken to the morgue for proper burial.

  • ::A dark sneer spreads across Nate's face hearing of the rumors on a night he stayed at the bardic college, he quickly sets off to find Talgrath or Zyphlin::

  • The Defender relief of the old western wall reported finding three bodies this morning. Two of the men found were Defenders. When first found the lack of any blood or remote mark on the armors brought the relief to believe the men were sleeping. On more careful inspection and removal of their helmets, the silent stare of absolute horror on both of the men's faces proved otherwise.

The third person found was a young woman. She lay dead on the grass, a deep puncture wound over her heart and a very disturbing mark carved into her forehead.

    XI

The mob is demanding to know who the woman's family is and for them to be banned from the city immediately. Rumors quickly circulate about Defender Talgrath's false statements about the end of this tragedy.

  • Word of this spreads quickly and the repricussions are swift and terrible. Of the eight families who's children had been involved in this incident, one father was stoned to death, a mother's home burned to the ground, and a couple beat to death in their marital bed.

The remaining families are requesting sanctuary by the city before the same fate befalls them.

  • Word goes out throughout Peltarch that Officer Talgrath of the Defenders is going to make an announcement regarding what has become known as the "numbers murders" at City Hall

Fellow citizens of Peltarch, through the combined efforts of the Defenders, the Knights of the Cerulean Star, and the magistrates, these brutal murders have been solved. While Senator Syne has admitted to killing the victims, they were willing victims; members of insideous devil cult intent on causing harm to Peltarch by way of suicidal ritual. Their hideout and altar have been destroyed. Syne's trial date will be forthcoming from the magistrates' office, though I do not know the exact charges I expect to see he puts emphasis on the next section at least 9 murder charges and a charge of treason. I would like to thank you all for your patience in this, it has been a difficult issue to sort out; thank you.

with that, Talgrath leaves, heading for his home.

  • Another woman was found just outside the doors of City Hall. The guard reports the entire area having done black and then a scream was heard in the middle of it. He tried to find the offender but by the time the darkness had cleared, there was a woman lying dead on the cold stone floor.

The mark on her forehead read:

    IX

Upon further inspection the guard discovered she had been stabbed once in the heart and her ears had been sliced off. The guard seemed very adamant about something in his report and speaking with others that were on shift that night.

"There's no way that woman had just died. Some of the blood had dried up and the body was cold when I touched it. Yes I know I heard her scream but she couldn't have just died….I've seen people after they've just died...that was different!"

  • The body of another woman was found near the Arms and Armory in the Peltarch Civic District. The Guard who filed the report stated the woman who found her was a Melanie Stern from Norwick. The woman was appropriately searched and questioned before being released.

The woman was found as the rest, naked, bleeding with the predictable sequence on her forehead.

    VIII

The most hideous fact of this case was that the victim died when her lower jaw was seemingly torn clean off her face. She lay in the street, eyes rolled up in the back of her head, bleeding in gushes by the fresh wound.

  • Guard reports again of Darkness overtaking the area just below the City Hall, in the Civic District, causing panic and terror, leaving a woman stripped bare, her body with many incisions, blood drizzling across the ground from many orfices, natural and unnatural alike. She was quickly carried to the Temple of Tyr, a trail of blood left by the volunteer becoming bloody, the symbol present upon her lifeless corpse's skull…

    VII

She was never seen returning from the temple again.

Rumours spread among the commoners of the three who found her, one of them an odd scruffy man in purple, calling the wizard out, the others a pink-haired lass in plate, dark haired lass with glowing blue eyes, and a stoic man in goldish armor.

Even wilder rumours spread in related events, that the man wearing purple seemed to speak of a shadow-weave present to the priest in the temple, as if he could feel it, some of the temple questioning how he could detect such things, his favoritism towards purple most suspect…

  • The Guard have reported yet another gruesome murder in the Civic district. The body was found by one Lady Kara Du'monte of the Phoenix Guild.

There seems to have been a sudden darkness that overtook the sector, and when investigated, the body was found, decapitated and evicerated, with a crude marking engraved on her forehead.

    VI

The body was taken to the morgue for further inspection.

Guard shifts will be doubled in reaction to this growing threat to the populace. There is word of a possible curfew to be implemented if this threat is not neutralized soon.

Revelence between these events, the current troubles at the docks, and the sudden flaring of shadow things at the city commons are all under current investigation.

In hopes to stop these disturbances, copies of these reports have been sent to Senate, the Black Dragon Knights, Peltarch Defenders, and the Cerulean Stars.

  • The Guard reports the bathhouse had to be closed down for an entire day (to the ire of lesbian elf girls everywhere) due to the corpse that was found floating in one of the scented baths this morning.

The woman was identified as one of the new employees of the establishment. She was found naked, one deep cut splitting her from neck to groin, her insides floating nearby in the same pool of blood.

When she was pulled out of the bath the guard noticed her face was locked in a silent death scream, her eyes had been completely removed, and there was a tell-tale number etched into her forehead.

    V

  • Darkness lay upon Peltarch, and the heavy snowing had just stopped, soaking its streets with thick slush. A blond woman was strolling alone down the wet cobblestone street, it's citizens all rushing about, eager to reach their supper waiting on the table at home. She wore a distinctively red coat tightly wrapping about her body, a few guards had sighted her as she took a turn down in to the civic district with a tired expression - longing to reacher her door.

She never got that far, her body was found robbed, naked and frozen in the alleyway near the senate apartments, with almost an unaturaly peaceful look about her. The perfect surgical slice of her throat had been so quick she hadn't had time to react before the death overtook her.

    III

The symbols was carved in to her forehead along with two incisions, one covering her heart, the other her stomach.

The woman had been brought to the morgue where she had been cut open and examined. The sight that followed had horrified the men, who described the scene as not only sick but unhuman.

Her heart was missing as was expected, but she had been with child, and upon removing the dead infant they had found another number carved in to the unborn babies forehand.

    IV

    It's heart gone too.

  • Reports come in of the murder of a lady upon the Temple of Tyr's steps. The lady had been stabbed once in the back of the head, and her tongue removed. A single mark was also found upon her forehead:

    II

The body was found by a Knight of the Order of the Divine Shield and taken within the temple. The body was then taken by the same knight Sir Mariston Thel to the Morgue. A short time after he entered the building sounds of battle could be heard and an unearthly voice. Sometime later a slightly battered and drained looking Sir Mariston left looking deeply concerned.
