The city after the war…

  • Briefly:

Of Peltarch’s 7000 citizens about 500 (many of them guards and defenders) were killed in the fighting, another 1500 received permeant disabilities or injuries and a further 2000 lesser injuries that heal with time, without the aid of Daisy and other priests the toll would have been far higher. Many of the children in the camp are reunited with one or both their parents in the weeks following the liberation of the city but close to 50 remain orphans.

The fighting caused extensive damage to the city, large parts of the docks were destroyed and rebuilt as were parts of the commerce and civic districts. With the guard weakened by the loss of men killed and to the rebels the docks have become more dangerous, especially to those travelling alone, rumours of new groups of opportunists, former rebels and gangs of displaced citizens who lost their homes or livelihoods in the fighting, spread.

The Seafarer’s return, their organisation and wealth intact, they proceed to buy land and businesses and employ more people than ever. Some applaud Vaster for his forsight others condemn him for not helping more but persistent rumours suggest that the Seafarer’s attempts to prevent the war were forestalled by some members of the Senate.

Torin Brackivus allegedly spent the war hiding in his mistress’ apartment.

Delvin Gelon has not been seen since the confusion in the Senate chamber, he’s believed to have escaped though none can say where.

Rath Ashald remained in the city, some guards claimed he gathered a small group of those that remained loyal and lead them during the fighting to regain the city.

The biggest story surrounding Zyphlin concerns an incident with a ballista, some now refer to him as Judge Socks, others claim his speech on the first night inspired the loyalists to victory. Magristrate Barrim’s calm and resolve during the crisis have won him wide respect not just among the defenders but also among those who fled to the refugee camp. Senator Roland and Mariston are both given quiet respect for their actions during the war, particularly for their care for the common folk caught in the fighting. Several children seem to have adopted Ocean and follow here everywhere unless physically restrained.

Senator Nico’s popularity seems greatly enhanced, tales that he personally snuck into the city to rescue his lover circulate, others claim it was his plan that lead to victory. He’s greeted with smiles and cheers wherever he goes.

IN the ranks Talgrath's tenacity has earned hi the gruding respect of his peers, however his poor personal skills keep them at their distance.

Few seem to have noticed Evendur’s absence in Spellweaver.

The hin-tossing dwarves are treated as minor celebrities for months after and citizens compete to see who can buy them more ale.

Several of the loyal defenders and guards have begun to approach Anna for more instruction in the doctrine of the Red Knight, crediting her with saving their lives in the fighting and the city with her aid.

The remaining rebels retreated into the mountains.

With two senators missing and one declared a traitor the government is thrown into confusion, only one thing is sure, elections will have to be held soon.

Some look to the future with hope, others with despair… in the mountains, across the lake, over the great plains of Narfell and in the sewers beneath the city’s streets the city’s enemies gather seeing opportunity in the city’s weakness and confusion.

  • Senator Syne was not seen throughout the conflict. He was reported never to have made it to the refugee camp. Some believed, some hoped, he had been slain during the initial conflict. He has been seen only once on the streets of Peltarch. His current where-abouts are unknown.
