As the Morning Sun Rises over the Refugee Camp

  • Peltarch Far Scouts

_A shadowy figure slips out of the village of tents early in the morning twilight, and quiety makes thier way to the top of the tower hill.

Dew still clings to the emerald green grass, and soldiers mill about, putting out the camp fires the night before with buckets of water- steam rising violently, air hissing.

Just as the first rays of the sun slice over the horizon, a haunting melody fills the air…_

"There must be some way out of here," said the joker to the thief,
"There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief.
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth,
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth."

"No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke,
"There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.
But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate,
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late."

All along the watchtower, princes kept the view
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.

Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl,
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

(( I found this earlier today, and it just seemed so darn appropriate for the morning of the big battle for Peltarch. The song is so great, I haven't changed a thing about it. It's "All Along the Watchtower", by Bob Dylan ))

  • (( apologies for the ooc but covering a jimi hendrix / bob dylan song.. issues bardic fallen token - the only thing i can add is… ))

((" Behold i am the re-incarnation of jimi hendrix all kneel and praise me " - Vim Fuego )).

  • ((::whispers:: Jimi Hendrix's cover of it is better. ::runs away:: ))
