Siril Sevenspell

  • Young Siril was about 60 or so when the story begins. That might seem like a lot, but he’s an elf, so it really isn’t. Anyway, young Siril was being trained in the wizardly arts by his mother, a stunning young sun elf with an adventurous streak. He had already learned to cast cantrips – a quick learner at first. He was learning through the books and such that his wood elf father – also a wizard – had left behind. His mother was a bard, but despite the translation in magic, he was still a quick learner. As I said, yes indeed.

So he was mimicking his mother’s casting one day… and for some kind of training purpose, she was going to cast Silence on him. Anyway, he was chanting the spell right along with her, inexplicably getting the words and hand motions exactly correct. Now here’s the strange thing: she was a bard, and he is a wizard. Silence is a bard and cleric spell. Seriously, look it up. Anyhoo, his spell went off at the same time as hers (personally, I think the Weave was playing a joke on them). Lights flashed, colors flared… but at the end of it, Siril was left permanently silenced.

Ironically, he still studied magic even harder, forsaking the outside world. Decades passed. Much of Siril’s youth disappeared.

So one day the spell wore off. Yep. Just like that. Most people wish it hadn’t.

Siril, delighted with his newfound ability to both use magic and speak to people, immediately scared off most of his friends. They were wood elves, and didn’t really go in for all that yammering. He was often asked, and told, and threatened if he didn’t – to shut the hells up. He can be polite about it, but then he’ll usually start back up again pretty soon.

Anyway, Siril decided to travel to the wood elf encampment to get a little bit of action under his belt, and a chance to use his spells. They tasked him to go and try to kill a few goblins, but that nearly got him killed. So he decided to leave the boring wood elves behind and go annoy the wonderful citizens of Narfell.

(( ooc: I don’t know if I can keep up the amount of typing that a talkative character requires, but if I can… look out!! ))
