A Samurai’s Dream (Uzumaki Kanryo)

  • Too many Tales of the Greatest Warriors of Faerûn are known, but there are few Tales about the Warriors from Kara-Tur.

Kara-Tur, huge Battles and Powerful Warriors; the most notable, The Samurai.

Samurai, one life of honor, one life of Battles and one life of loyalty.

The Samurai have been some of the most powerful warriors that existed on Kara-Tur. Many people of Faerûn see the Samurai passing through lands and also see them fighting, those people can’t believe their skills with the sword and their toughness and discipline that they can show in a battle.

Their first weapon is the Katana; many people say that this is a perfect sword, made by the Blacksmith’s soul; they say that this sword, in hands of a Samurai, can be devastating for their enemies, and that’s true.

The central point of all the Samurai’s styles is the Bushido.

All the samurai’s styles have something common, their perfect cut, and they always avoid losing a battle, they rather commit Harakiri than live a life of dishonour.

Things were said about a dynasties’ battles, that would happen in the northeast of Kara-Tur, near to The Endless Wastes (northwest of Faerûn), where the best Samurai fought.

The battle was tough, and it lasted for many years; at the end there was a winner, Tokugawa’s Dynasty. After the end, The Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu sent troops around the battle field, their mission; to eliminate the other dynasty’s troops and explore for new lands.

Many of those scout troops accomplished their mission, others went defeated by their enemies, and some of them interned themselves in a new land, full of strange things, costumes and creatures, Faerûn.

The task of finding the way back home, never happened; the samurais who went on the Lands of Faerûn didn’t come back, people say that they didn’t come back because they were already dead, but some of those samurai run around the kingdoms for Faerûn, fighting in battles, living on mountains, living on towns or teaching their skill to the people, that the samurai have seen their potential.

Things are known about a group of samurai, who followed their path to the northwest of Faerûn. People mutter their name, Yappouji-Gumi (the night walker samurai). They were the rest of a legion that had traveled to, but this legion had an awful end.

Two members of the Yappouji-Gumi arrived to strange land, full of rare things and costumes, his names, Kanryo Uzumaki and Seki Kurosawa, two of the samurai more skilled from the Party, they have chosen to explore this kingdom and maybe, the could teach their skills, to someone that can catch their attention as a Warrior.

Kanryo Uzumaki was born in a village called Mizunoshi, in the North of Kara-Tur, he started to learn Kenjutsu since he was 6 years old, his father, Mouroyama Uzumaki, taught him the Omoitsuruginohikari-Ryu (the heavy sword’s shine style). This style consists in taking the light’s energy around the sword and assembling on the sword’s blade, then the end result of this, could be devastating for those whom the sword cuts. Mouroyama taught Kanryo until he had got the enough knowledge to face the real combat.

When Kanryo was 22 years old, he and his father joined their self in to the battle, fighting together the Tokugawa’s Dynasty; both fought in many battles for 7 years but in one of them, Mouroyama Uzumaki got severally injured. After two months, Mouroyama dead and Kanryo head back to home, just to notice his mother, Yume Uzumaki, about his father’s dead, when he arrived to Mizunoshi village, he found him self into a dead field. Yume went victim of the war, she was dead and the town was ruins.

Kanryo left Mizunoshi and he followed the path to the southeast of Kara-tur with the Tokugawa’s legion.

The legion arrived to a town called Soranomori, they legion hold there for six months, while they were taking more samurai. Kanryo Uzumaki, in his stay, learned more techniques, the Koujouken and the Kazeken.

When the legion got ready, they traveled to the northeast of Kara-Tru to face the other legions. There, the Battle ended and Tokugawa’s legion sent, in all the ways, some samurai’s groups to find and to defeat the resistance.

Kanryo Uzumaki joined himself in a group called Yapouji-gumi, formed by twenty three samurai, where he met Seki Kurosawa.

The Yappouji-gumi went to the west of Kara-Tur. They followed the steps of a resistance group to Faeûn, going trough the Golden Way, but what they found was a Troll’s ambush. Just the best survived and they followed their own ways.

Kanryo and Seki went more to the North of Faerûn; they saw strange things and also they fought against them. Their travel took them into a Kingdom called Narfell.

Actually they are exploring this Kingdom, looking for Knowledge and virtuous people, what could call their attention…
