A large sign posted on the Near East Road

  • Legion

A large sign, written in common, is posted up in the Northwest corner of the Near East Road. For any who can't read, frequent Legion patrols pass through the area, and are more than happy to translate.

    "WARNING:
By the order of General Ragnar Gloirin, and Union Master Dwin Dolvak..
The goblins residing on this hilll are hereby under the protection of the Royal Troff Legion and the Crafter's Union. Any attempt to bring harm to these creatures will result in swift and lethal retribution. Trespassers will be shot on sight."

  • _The burly goblin, known to the legion as "Farmer" and his brother whose name is quite unpronouncable are always there at the farm keeping the upper levels clear of any hobgoblins while the legion keep guard on the fences at the lower levels of the slope.

The farmer often allows the legion guard present to have some soup on occasion if they mind his "farkin' crops" but he prefers to keep people away from his "stock", saying that folk frighten them.

He seems pleased with the arrangement with the legion, and is heard to say in his very knowledgable and wise tones with barely an accent to some of them now and again..

"Perhaps some of my kids might grow up te be in the legion one day, if ye dwarves let in salads to the ranks how about goblins"
"When are ye legion going to go bash those Yuan-Ti around… them ate me babies more than once, tis nay their lands"._

  • Nalio Bladesong reads the sign and nods

    we're protecting Goblins?

looks at the crude drawings and sighs

I have a feeling were going to be buisy…

  • wandering off with Foilir

[d] me thinks the hins is just jealous o the farmer-greenskin. At least he can cook!

I guess I'd be sore if gobs were bigger than me, also…

    chuckles as he heads north

  • Raises an eyebrow at Scutum

"Coin be coin… anna dat deh bottom line..."

Adjusts his plate a bit and heads towards Peltarch

  • Scutum looks at the spit and smiles beatifically at Foilir and Dwin.

"Ye lads sayin ye'd just as soon make friends with folks what have evil in their hearts? Ye know what evil is? In this land, ye either evil o ye not. Ye lads ought to know that, eh?"

  • Captain Landreaper reads the sign on the way to Norwick as he escorts farmer Jaher to a small market day there. He sneers:

Orc half-breeds I can handle, right enough, tame goblins I heard of, but 'fit in th' Hells are they needin' guarded fer?! If th' Legion aint gonnae get nothin' from it, they'll be gutted an' be th' laughin' stock of Jiyyd!!

The captain's sneer melts into a smirk as he looks around and leads the farmer on again.

  • Ezachiel has been standing guard together with some of the legionaires, attempting to make contact with the goblins. At other times, he stands back a bit more, and makes tons of sketches, featuring just about everything the goblins do.

  • Foilir grumbles at Scutum's words. He sneers visibly and says audibly to Dwin

"See… All yeh need teh be is un priest. Den yeh cen waves yeh hands, speak summa pious shite, declare dat der be evil present, anna yeh cen do as yeh please..."

    Spits

    "Fanatics.."

  • Scutum waits for Grag at the Legion Hall to ask him: "Ye mean to say that these goblins ye defendin aren't evil? I'll be bringin Amana up there to find out if ye tell me ye don't know."

Aelhaearn rubs his chin after reading the sign and shrugs. "So long as they stay up there and the Legion takes responsibility for anything the 'peaceful farmers' do, I suppose I'll let them keep their pets."

A dwarven knight sharpens the horns on his helmet and consumes great quantities of "holy water".

  • Stopping in front of the sign on a casual stroll along the Near East—which is to say, with his crossbow hefted on his shoulder and his eyes pealed for Hobgoblins to shoot—and reads it. Snickering some, he shakes his head and looks toward the hills, and spots the faint signs of the farming in the distance.

"Well, a treaty with goblin farmers is distinctly more acceptable than with snakeheads . . . " He pauses, and furrows his brow, tapping a finger on his crossbow. "I do hope that's goblins and not goblinoids is what they mean."

He notices a Legionnaire on patrol and saunters up to him, grinning. Asking in a polite tone, he poses an inquiry. "Hey, I can still shoot _Hob_goblins, right?"

((A response would be best PMed))

  • anyone going to the farm will find that the crops have been pulled, trampled and whithered into black heaps. The goblins will also find their clothing, food and bedding missing and an inordinate amount of ashes in the fire. No one is too clear on who destroyed the farm,

THis was done without a DM present so disregard In Game, I didn't know you needed one to change things on the forum. Thank you bah bye

<< Edited, by DM Durandal - unless there was a DM present, this didn't happen.. please amend your post accordingly, we can arrange for you to do just that anytime there is one on, and we will arrange for the farmer and his brother to be there >>

  • Wog can be seen standing on top of the hill talking to the goblins, hes has his sheild oevr visbaly on his back and one hand on his sword just incase anyone trys to attack the goblins. After a while the farmer goblin hands him a mug of soup.

  • Tindra groans and shakes her head as she reads the notice.

  • Already Legion troops can be seen stationed near the goblin enclave warning those that may want to atatck the goblins they will incur Legion and Union reprisal.

  • Someone has added a picture drawn in mud of a goblin with a scythe farming stick figures.

    • Foilir can be seen taking bets that Grag and his minions will kill the goblins and start a war with the goblins. *
