Lilin Rodger
-
An old but elegant looking woman walks down the row between the shelves of scrolls and tomes, holding a lamp that lightly illuminates the area. The pitch-black darkness of the room sharply stopping its spread after only a few feet, making the scrolls and tomes seem almost ghostly. The old woman stops and points to a tome lying by itself on the shelf. Lilin, a young blonde girl, reaches out a trembling hand and grasps the tome firmly, holding it with one hand, and looks at her teacher feeling befuddled.
The old woman motions with her hand and begins down the row again, this time all the way to the end. She pauses, and points to oak table laying perpendicular to the row.
"Open the tome, and read." She says coldly, "and you will understand why I brought you here."
Lilin, opens the book and the old woman holds the lantern over the book, barely illuminating the pages well enough to read. Lillin's eyes strain as she reads the history of her goddess that the church does not respect. This ignored history paints Sharess as a force of good and a warrior in the conflict against Set, when she was a member of the Mulhorandi pantheon.
"What does this mean?" Lilin asks, confusedly.
"It means that you have to realize that Sharess is not just a goddess a pleasure, but a strong warrior and a force for good, not just chaos."
"Why did you show me this?"
"Because Lilin, you are more than just the pathetic worshipper of a goddess of lust. I see more than that of you. Even if the majority of the church does not realize that fact, you must, just like other before you have."
"But…"
"Sush child. You will no longer be welcome in the temple if they know you know the truth. You must leave, but trust me child its for the best."
"Where am I to go… what is my purpose?"The old woman pauses for a moment, her eyes piercing Lilin's character, a stern but loving look. "Go to Narfell, child… Go to Jiyyd and carve your own destiny, knowing that Sharess will guide you on your path."
