Jiyyd Rumors

  • _A feral panther who spends many of her days hunting the orc plains has been acting differently this last tenday.

Her custom is to pounce upon orcs passing her hidden crouch until the approach of strangers triggers her swift escape to lie somewhere contentedly cracking open orc skulls and lapping up the tasty brain matter.

More recently she has been prowling about sniffing at various orcish females and is even more snappy than normal._

  • Legion

rumors fly of the General getting shipments of many many kegs to the legion halls mumbling about war machines and giving them a nice little treat " Farkers whanna cum ta my town I give umm a nice welcome party nex time! "

  • _Word also spreads of a ritual that was performed by the elven priests and one 'firelady of Kossuth' to drive out the infernal cold and restore the warmth to the town. The prayers to the Seldarine apparantly did not go unheard…shortly after the ritual had been completed, the storm was snuffed out and the cold faded

Which of the rumours are truth remains to be seen_

  • _The recent vicious snowstorms and temperature would indicate Auril's displeasure at the town of Jiyyd. Perhaps its petty laws preventing acknowledgement of any Gods the council deem to be 'dark' prevented appropriate offerings from being made.

Despite the best efforts of priests, paladins and well-meaning other citizens wanting to drop crossbow bolts into the coruscating whirl of ice that was the centre of the storm, nothing seemed to make it go away.

The storm only died down after a man had died of exposure to the cold. Perhaps some of the older ways still have power._

  • The bard Sil was last seen headed into the Rawlins via Norwick. The rumors suggest that her mood was dark indeed, a mix of frustration and latent anger. What is known for sure is that she hasn't been seen for several days at least, even by those who might search for her.

Perhaps she is spending time among the forest to calm herself.. or perhaps the beautiful bard that wandered into Jiyyd one day has just wandered on.

  • Word filters down from Peltarch that Sir Gunnar Hockstrohm has fallen in battle.

  • Legion

Rumors fly of a grand battle in the nars with a crazy Vampire that dared challenge the legion and the Jiyyd defence council. After a few nights the battered legion came inside the walls looking rather beet up but General was heard shouting and cheering some walking in with Amana…

  • Legion

General Grag hears word of the friendly neighboorhood ghost and is rumored going around calling him the Ghost of hope and to not fear him

  • Word spreads around town that an acolyte of the Helmite Temple recently saw a ghostly man. His description of the ghost seems similar to the one seen days ago. The wandering apparition did not take notice of the young man until he gathered up enough courage to ask who the ghost was. The ghost turned to the acolyte and whispered, "Solais Aran," and faded from sight before any more questions could be asked.

  • The bard Sil spreads word of some glowing crystals that have been sighted at different spots in the pass. The crystals have been seen to erupt from the ground during earthquakes.

She advises that no one touch them, warning of dire consequences for that person and anyone else around. She also suggests that no one look at them, lest they be enchanted by their magic and compelled to touch them.

If she is questioned further, she mentions that the crystals seem to channel elemental magic. She is also wont to mention that she remembers reading something about hidden elemental magics under Norwick.. perhaps the crypts? under the Keep? Maybe even down the well?

edit: She is also quick to warn of possible snowball attacks on adventurers who might be interested in investigating.

  • Rumors spread of the Legion elf Elith and the cutiest hin you ever did see of having "relations" They are often spotted togeather huddled close, hugging, and what not.

  • Rumors also spread about such bandits attacking defenseless animals in the pass. There is also talk of two large men running head on into a large group of Eastlanders, only to be killed with the help of the infamous Frost Giant Bandits. Could there be a possibilty that the Frost Giant Bandits have organized with the Eastlanders to fight their common foes? Some seem to think so…

  • Rumors spread of a group of fearsome bandits on the Nars Pass near the crossroads. The group calls themselves the "Frost Giant Bandits" and has reportedly pelted passerby with snowballs after demanding coin and ale.

Their members are known to include two stunningly beautiful elves, and an umber hulk. After battling the bard Mirkali for hours on end, the Frost Giant Bandits prevailed after dumping snow down his pants.

Whispers suggest that the FGBs could rival even the Eastlanders.

  • A white ghostly man was seen in Jiyyd. The spirit looked to be very translucent and with no distinguishable features besides softly glowing blue points for eyes. He was hard to see unless nearby and spoke with a whispering voice that also could only be heard up close. He approached an elven, bardic lass by the name of Sil. After some exchanged words, the ghost lead a few people into the swamp. The group returned a couple of hours later carrying a little boy who had wandered into the swamp and became lost and stuck. The boy was brought to the guard tower and soon reunited with his parents.

  • Scutum catches Mallis on patrol through the Valley and does a double-take. She scratches her head and leans over to whisper a question to Ginger.

"Does Mallis have a twin brother?"

  • wog can be seen talking to a young sorceress around jiyyd alot after saving her from the swamps with sil

  • It has been rumored that the always eccentric Mallis is patrolling the Silver Valley, making sure none of the "tall ones" ever travel within the town's walls at least not without a halfling or gnomish escort to lead them in. Many figure that Mallis's ruling may have had something to do with what some humans did in his town's bathhouse, or more obvious that it was fueled by his own deep hatred of many of the humans. Nevertheless, his actions should be taken seriously, even if he is not part of the town's Council.

  • Rumors of more banite cultists of Kemar have started using the menhir stones to transport from unknown origin. Possibly a tower in the rawlinswood.

Preceding each attack by the cultists are undead of various forms.
Citizens are warned to avoid traveling alone on the roads to the south and west of town.

The assasins of the cult are to be feared for their deadly poisons as they are usually supported by large sword wielding necromancers.

  • Council of Moradin

Rumors spread that a LARGE caravan entered town, it was escorted by 30 Dwarfs wearin a gold/green armor. Anyone that aproched the caravan was pushed away by the dwarfs as the caravan continues towards the cave where the dwarven temple is being built. Every wagon was sealed tight and a week after the caravan entered, it left north.

  • There's a new face in town, a quiet Damaran fellow who calls himself Crowe if pressed. He claims he is looking for work and would make an excellent farmhand having run a farm for a number of years. Frequent travellers to Peltarch may recognise him as one who fought in the recent Civil war and has been seen defending that city in numerous street fights since. Why he's moved south is anyone's guess.
