Jiyyd Rumors

  • Within minutes Dwin hears about Mecizq's whining from a few of his local faithful followers

If that lad has a problem, he best address me directly. I hear shiite like that I might start to think he's tossin' shiite. The only way to stop someone from tossin shiite is to cut their farkin head off. 'Least thats what me Pa used to tell me.

"Which town I owe allegiance to?" He farkin kiddin me? I own parcels all over this land. Just because I run the Militia of the Southern Nars don't mean I am banished within the walls o Norwick!

All the thanks I get fer savin this place from ruin… ya know, I think some folks are just plain jealous.

Remind me to ask him how he likes bein' a crafter in my Union next time I see him. chuckles Maybe he thinks its a farkin "conflict" too.

Dwin walks off and buys the closest commoner an ale or two. Dwin never pays much attention, but he is starting to think that Jiyyd water makes peoples' eyes turn lavendar.

  • "Jiyyd has done admirably well in the past by itself, and will surely continue to do so. I am sure that every man and woman that lives here, can contest to that."

  • Although none of the malcontents with lavendar eyes ever approach Mecizq directly, as the townsfolk parrot his concern, the rumors take a turn to address it, citing how successful Dwin has been in making Norwick secure against threats from the outside, and gently suggesting that it wouldn't be so bad to have a singular leadership, forever uniting the two towns in everlasting peace.

Not to mention how advantagous it would be for Jiyyd to draw upon Norwick's formidable resources and economy, should the need arise.

  • Legion

General Grag instructs the helmites and the legion to keep a close eye on the Ex-Banite

  • The Ex-Banite can be seen spending most of his time within the Temple of Helm, while inside these walls he spends much time praying, studying and sometimes just sitting their reflecting on his actions. When he does leave the temple he is often seen akwardly trying to mingle within the townsfolk, offering a hand whenever the chance arises but saying little

  • The Halfling Defence League

fad, wrapped up tightly in her cloak, just shakes her head

    Too trusting.

  • Mecizq can be heard on wandering through Jiyyd one day to wonder as to which town Dwin owes allegiance, as he seems to be head of Norwick Milita, yet also seems to hold a position on Jiyyds counsel, and perhaps these two positions are causing conflicts in interest for him.

  • Oreth responds to the rumours when they come to him, taking note of the lavender eyes of the commoner

It matters little what he has done. That path is already behind us and cannot be changed. It matters what one believes he will do. If the paladin has reason to believe that this Banite's past is not a good predictor of his future, and she vouches for that, then there is no reason to cast this convert out, or make him suffer unduly. Unless you want to chase him right back into Bane's hand. No one is served by that, not us, and not him.

    Wait and see.

  • _The paladin does not raise voice to waylay the rumors. When asked why by an acolyte, she merely responds:

"The first step towards redemption must come through acceptance. And acceptance cannot be gained if it is not earned. This lies solely in his hands. If he is true, we can only guide him."

She does state however, that any that would make claim to the man's past transgressions, or claim to his falseness, do so by presenting the proof._

  • Rumor spreads (from various characters with lavender eyes) that a member of the Black Hand has come into town claming that he has turned from his ways. He now wanders freely among decent townsfolk.

Mr. Dolvak has come under harsh criticism by those who would blindly accept this man's story at face value, but still his first thought is to the welfare of the people of Jiyyd, and he has determined to have a word with this man himself to ensure that he does not become a threat to us and our children.

If not for good folks like Mr. Dolvak, Jiyyd's poor excuse for a council would let known killers wander about unchecked.

  • Three members of the Black Sails were recently seen chasing one of their own, a dwarven priestess of Umberlee, all the way from Jiyyd and out into the Nars Pass. It would appear the priestess had taken something from one of the others and refusing to return it. All four returned after a while, bloodied and bruised but in good spirits apart from the occasional curse and grumble from the dwarf.

  • _Upon hearing the rumor, Shane goes to offer her last greetings to the fallen brother. After that, she is seen heading towards the temple of Helm with a blank expression, shutting the door behind.

Soon after, rumor spreads that she has asked acolytes to find her any written text or any word on the dark lord's religion that can be found within the region. Visitors coming to the temple can find her, when not out on patrol scouting for Orc intrusions, or other matters concerning her, engaged attentively over old and dusky tomes until the deep of night. One acolyte is overheard stating that such deep immersement in unholy lectures can not be good for one's own sanity, looking troubled._

  • It is said that there was a fair and honest duel between a Banite wizard and a paladin at the crossroads. The paladin died, while the Banite remained nearly unscathed.

  • _With all the rumors of dissaperances, another report comes in. One of the guards saw a man with shaggy blonde hair going into the swamp. The guard also mentions the man is a "tree humper." The man never returned.

The guard believes the orcs may have snuck into the swamp and captured him, but evidence is lacking._

  • Concerned citizens with lavender eyes speak of the body and the note.

An old man deep in his drinks, with dirty overalls and a bushy mustache remarks that this mess is gonna get sorted right proper, and just you wait and see if Mr. Dolvak don't tell folks precisely what's to be done about the situation and then go out and do it. Not like them council members, all holed up and not doin' jack-diddlee.

A young human boy plays with the other children, carrying a wooden toy axe, speaking with a thick and overdone accent.

"Ye farkin' orcs! Mah name is Dwin Dolvak, an ahs gonna teach ya right proper what come o' messin with this town!"

A demur young elven lady speaks of how she saw Dwin working on repairing the damage with his own two hands, and he turned and smiled at her, setting her heart all aflutter.

  • A rumour surfaces that orcs were seen amongst the farms to the east of Jiyyd, screams followed and the orcs were later seen heading into the woods carrying two struggling figures, both female.

  • A body is found near the Jiyyd gates
a note written in scratchy messy Orcish is shoved into the dead woman's mouth

    The note reads:

Better hurry before we's run out of hostages!

  • Juster is sometimes seen walking around the wall and keeping a close eye on the gates and surrounding areas. Other times he willingly helps any around who he can. While not good at building or moving large objects, he is willing to help with any other job he can.

  • Legion

When asked about things the general's repsonse is simple… "I have bedra things ta do then listen ta this shite. They can tear apart our buildings but can nae take away our morale an spirit! Tyr's swift justice is coming and coming soon..." lifts some more Wood and hauls them over to different buildings needed as the repair crews continue work

  • @11e6607c7f=Panache:

And every once in a while it is a young hothead who speaks in a hushed voice to those who have lost and who stand to lose, suggesting that it is time for change in Jiyyd, and that the council is no longer fit to govern. It is clear that things have been better since Dwin has taken charge, and if the Council cannot accept that, its is the responsibility of each of us to make them accept it.

Genzir, amused that orcs are trying to appeal to our sympathies for the few witches that happen to be standing guard on the plains along with the dozens of male rumblers, responds: Sure. Or maybe the orcs would make good councilmembers. In fact, why don't you go over there and ask them? I bet they show great hospitality.
