Jiyyd Rumors
-
Rumor has it that the shrub standing next to the small crossroad in Jiyyd has been trampled over, bent aside, broken and stepped on one time too often. A girl talks in hushed voices of how the spirit of the shrub came into the inn, seeking to deliver justice to some particularly cruel offenders. Some agree that a shrub in humanoid shape did indeed enter the inn. However they also point out that it could just have been a druid. Most consider this rumor merely a drunkard's tale. But is it? And more importantly does it have a grain of truth in it?

It is said that there was a huge battle with slaadi east of Jiyyd, and that at times the fight entered Jiyyd itself. In the end, a group of adventurers came back into Jiyyd, looking like they had been in one hell of a fight.

A rumour goes around that a small group of hins walked through the city and seemed to be strange colors. They did not say anything about it at the time they just walked through mentioning something about checking on the Silver Valley. People that were around the fire can be heard saying that one was white, another seemed to be pink, and the third was black.

_Rumours speak of a large battle that took place on the windy plains, east of Jiyyd between the ghouls and the undead forces present in Mintas Rhelgor. Upon the discovery of the battle, the battlefield was littered with the corpses of countless ghoul bodies, some in blackened armour. Horses, shattered swords and ghouls mounted upon pikes lay scattered everywhere over the battlefield.
Black smoke fills the sky overhead as the dust settles. It would appear to be a slaughter more than anything else._

_The plains north of the orc fortress are churned up and blackened after a colossal battle there in which magics could be seen high in the sky overhead from all around.
On that ground lie the remains of thousands of undead, the livery of Myrkul visible on some of those less charred. The massive force that laid waste such an army surrounds Mintas now._

_Whispers spread of a winged man circling over the orcish fields after three women that are part of the group know as the "Hunters" had passed through Jiyyd, darkness spells concealing them. Many speak of a battle upon the fields that left the women dead and dozens of detchs bodies lying all about, the winged man flying above casting spells to confuse those below. It is rumored that one woman in particular was caught up in the man's spell and disappeared from the group. When she was finally tracked down, she was found nearly lifeless, blood smeared across her lips, while her slit wrist bleed openly; the winged man taking off as the rescue group approached. She was quickly taken to the Sisterhood, were hours later she was seen bolting from the house, running east, only to disappear in the pass.
Many recognize the woman as Nicahh, and many also notice, she has not come home since then._

Word begins to spread about something happening at the Kelemvorite Shrine. Exactly what it is, no one knows for sure, but apparently all the people there seem quite on edge.
-
Rumor has it more and more ghouls have been seen around Jiyyd. Encounters with them seem to be more and more chaotic and the stronger ghouls are seen less often even as encounters increase. Deep in the plains over a thousand gnoll ghouls are found dead apparently after a large battle.

Rumor has it General Grag set out on a mission to encounter a dragon and has not been seen since…

Walking happily through Jiyyd one day, tired of translating and needing some fresh air, Zyphlin heard the rumors. He continued on a few steps, a fine smile on his face, before stopping dead in his tracks and turning back. His face going a bit white as he is heard to ask for a repeating of the rumors. He quickly rushes back into the old Bromley Estate, muttering about blasted books…farking gods (strangley the name "tal" came up around this point)...and something about his basement

A series of unnatural events rocked the small town, culminating in the appearance of pillars from the earth. Rumour speaks of something coming through a portal..then a picnic.

Kitty, the mildly over-excited but ever so nice girl with the weird green eye, has not been seen in some time. Rumours drift from Peltarch that the Defenders have sealed all the sewer entrances and changed all the locks. It is also rumoured that Kitty was born and grew up in those same sewers. There are futher rumours that Kitty occassionally went home to check on things despite mostly living at the sisterhood house now.
Whether these two rumours are in any way linked, or have anything to do with her disappearance remains to be seen…..

Zyphlin can be seen riding into town from the north, a small wagon pulled behind filled with large rolls of paper and many books. He parks it outside the old Bromley Estate and heads inside, slowly unloading the wagon into it. Candle light can be seen coming from the house throughout the nights as the bard seems to be busy at work on something

Caldor Dana has been seen more about town lately with a new spring in his step.. often humming a bright tune or whistling and greeting all those he meets with a broad smile.
-
_Juster has often been seen looking at the house in the Silver Valley lately.
He is also often seen sitting at the fire reading books which with closer inspection are noted to be in elvish. He reads slowly murmuring the words to himself and often has a confused look on his face as he reads._

_A loud rumble recently shook the Regal Whore after some unusual guests caused a ruckus at the top floor of the building. Two blue-clad gentlemen were overheard requesting the best fortified room of the establishment, but eventually settled for the finest room at the second floor. Shortly thereafter three women in black and purple, wearing skull-like masks, also took a room at the Inn after asking Drudo about any recent arrivals.
After the Inn shook like all hells had broken loose, Ragnhild, Mark and Dentin were sent upstairs to investigate. They found the room in shambles, the two men bound and nearly dead and the women badly battered, one of them petrified.
An angered Just'ene was later seen escorting the strangers out of town, crossbow loaded at their backs. Guards were then sent upstairs to clean up the mess left by the guests. Rumour speaks of further conflict out in the Nars pass, even possible beheadings…_

_The cook pot of Jiyyd has apparantly had one too many of Nathanders socks soaking in it, as it recently decided to spontaniously combust. Prodding the pot proved to be a bad idea, as was tasting its contents… After some Romani wine was added to the strange stew inside the pot, things took an even stranger turn. A huge fire elemental was born out of the melted remains of the cook pot and the creature promptly sizzled off to set fire to the nearby orc plains.
The adventurers followed and eventually managed to destroy the elemental being and putting out the fires...but not without drawing the attention of the orcs. A huge sword wielder approached, grunting and snarling incomprehensibly. After making some presumably threatening remarks, the huge orc pointed to the spear of the warrioress Ragnhild, apparantly demanding some kind of tribute. A violent fight ensued, but both the spear and its wielder returned safely to Jiyyd, alongside many other brave and weary adventurers._

The tavern is alight with the story of a man who stood about the cookfire only briefly, questioning a woman in flowing white robes glistening in the moonlight. This was about midnight or so….
It seems the woman was not forthcoming in her answers and without warning he was armed in both hands, blades flashing and tackling the woman.
Right then, so the tavern-goers say, some fellow came charging in through the gates as if he knew the woman in white were in distress and taking sword and shield attacked the attacker!
A short fight ensued in which the first attacker, the questioner, was driven to the ground and took several furious blows. The fight seemed over.
But the questioner got up again and quickly put the new arrival who attacked him into some sort of dreamy daze or haze, stuck him a few times in the gut and disappeared without a trace.
The entire story keeps the men of the tavern occupied and arguing trying to decide who was in the right, the questioner or the man new arriving.
The women are all happy for the survival of the woman dressed in flowing white but also are not sure who to side with among the men.
Meanwhile Drudo makes a healthy sale of beer and spirits as all of the above argue and fight, and later make up to go back to their normal lives, wondering when the next attack by ghouls or wolves or giants or machines will occur. Some even chuckle about how they miss the old days when orcs were their only fear. Then the whole chatter starts over again.

The Half-Orc prisoner of Jiyyd
Grag was seen ordering a half-orc in an orange set of clothing about Jiyyd earlier. Seems that Stone Skull a suspected thief, mugger and follower of Gruumsh, has been sentenced to many, many, hours of labor within the walls of the city.
Citizens are advised to ignore the prisoner while he works, and provide him no aid. Any problems concerning him are to be brought to the attention of the guards at once.
