Jiyyd Rumors

  • On hearing the exploits of Count Analdoor of Damara, Damian Colten (also of Damara) is heard to say:

He is obviously not of the Ostel province, please do not judge all Damarans based on this fools actions…

  • Fedar Arly is frequently observed training with a shortsword around Jiyyd.

  • Rumor has it that under the supervision of Olivia , Mavado , has been in training and discussing things such as combat forms and training methods .Mavado also stayed into the late hours training until runners had came from Norwick

  • Those who had noticed a young halberdsman guarding the Sisterhood over the past few months now notice that he no longer stands guard there. Rumor is that he spends much his time in the docks of Peltarch. He is occasionally seen passing through Jiyyd to assist with farm labor east of town and to hunt the deer which reside there, on such occasions he is not seen to carry his halberd.

  • A familiar face (to a few) is observed within town. Fedar Arly has returned, yet he appears to not have recognized his few (to none) friends within the area.

  • Shannon D'Arneau walks into town one day noting that the earth elemental in the mines has been taken care of, though explorers should still beware the bear which likes to make its den there. He also notes that he's seen no Duergar there.

  • By the light of day, women of the Sisterhood, and many of their family and friends, are seen leading the children that had been staying at the Legion hall for their protection, out of town. Not only did they leave Jiyyd, they went right on past the Sisterhood and were last seen heading towards Norwick. Rumors spread that Head Priestess Rith had invited the children to stay at the Shrine of the Dawn until the undead threat is curbed.

  • Rumor has it that a small group of Duergar had made their way dangerously close to the surface in search of Moonstone. They were vanquished, but one of their summoned earth elementals remains in the mine shaft South of Sam's Hill off the road to Norwick. Folks have been warned by a bald, smelly gnome not to get any heroic ideas about vanquishing the creature, that is unless they can take Arandor or Nicahh down in a fair fight

"Yeah, dere was two or 'em, but our group managed ta bring one down. I'm tellin' ya, dis pauper's bow o' mine did nuttin'. I had ta sit an' watch one pummel Arandor an' Lieutenant Ashire wit it's meaty mitts while Nicahh an' Lilly used magics on it. Took durn near ten minutes ta beat down. I'm sayin', stay back from dat 'ol mine."

  • Jerr is seen more and more inside the town and on the run between Jiyyd and Norwick. Mention of the undead gets a 'cike' reaction, swift hand to the axe and darting eyes, looking for a target.

While he still flirts with the ladies and jokes with the men his attitude is a little sharper and ready for battle.

  • A crippled dwarven mage with one eye was seen limping hurriedly out of Jiyyd recently only to have members of the Watch searching town for him less than an hour later. Anyone seeing someone matching his discription in town should call the Watch or Legion for assistance.

  • Justene was seen stumbling out of the Regal Whore, and rumor spreads that an illusionist stole several things from people outside the sisterhood hall. He ultimately escaped, but the stolen items were found in the room.

  • Legion

General Grag is seen asking about this undead and tells many even his own cleaning crew has recently turned to undeads…."the truth shall be found and if she is innocent she will be freed immediatly"

  • A witch, new to the town, is heard talking in the inn:

_"The girl was an undead, who died to a spell called Heal. Undead are aberrations to the cycle of life, and thus deserve to die, each and everyone of them. This priestess should be praised, not jailed.

Yet another sign of the weaknesses of artificial laws made by humans. If the guards were something more intelligent than halforcs, they might have got the situation. But no.

People seem to see undead as "just another race". They should wake up from this stupid fantasy."_

  • Rumor has it and many witness agree that a Legionnaire by the name of Hedia was seen striking along time resident of Jiyyd down with magics. SHe peacefully surrendered to Basha and awaits trial. She was heard saying that the slain citizen was an undead.

  • _Word spreads that a horde of women in red and black robes leading sleepy eyed children are seen marching into Jiyyd and straight to the Legion hall. Seems the children have been moved there because the Sisterhood has yet again become a target for groups wishing to punish the innocent to get a reaction. Rumors circulate that undead are the reason for the move.

Many would notice that some Sisters now stand outside the legion, and per General Grag's approval, they are to screen people entering, only allowing Legionaires and other Sisters into the hall until the children are moved to a safe location.

Those seeking the leader of the Sisterhood find she is outside the Legion hall off and on, but tends to stay inside with the children, attempting to sooth them during this stressful situation._

  • _Mark spends an increased amount of time in and around Jiyyd, often asking people about the assassin that seems to be about.

He often stands on the archer's tower, huddled in a cloak and leaning against a pillar to stay from view a bit.
If not there, he stalks the plains and roads, wearing black clothing and a cloak, rather than his usual plate.

He seems determined on taking the culprit down, whether it's a matter of compassion towards Jiyyd, of honour, or of a desire to get his hands on the weapon is anyone's guess._

  • After the absence of a few weeks, the tall and muscular red-head some called Melody is seen back in Jiyyd. However, she wears no longer any of her normal clothing, nor her armor, nor the robe of the sisterhood. She also seems to lack any memory of ever having met anyone, and even seems reluctant to react to any of her 'names'. People questioning where she came from merely are told that she set off from her foster parent's house a while back, and just arrived here. If people go on questioning why she doesn't move on, she points out, in her annoying speech pattern, that she tried, but all ways are blocked by monsters.

  • Rumor has it the Damaran count has attacked Jiyyd this time

  • Rumors spread of an assasin plaguing the happy citizens of Jiyyd. No one seem to be able to catch the man.
Then only a few blinks of time later after the assasin vanished into thin air, a weak attack from the orcs was attempted. If the two incidents are related the rumors are vague about. Some say yes and others seem not so sure.

    ((thanks May, good fun!))

  • Rumor spreads that the Count from Damara was once again seen around Jiyyd, specificlly the Sisterhood. People also whisper about how he tried to burn the Sisterhood down and that Nicahh was heard commenting that she would pay atleast 3000 gold to the person who can bring her his head. Seems the half elven woman has grown tired of his games.
