Jiyyd Rumors
-
_Word of Olivia's constant training in the Legion's training grounds continues to circuit around town. Her skill and determination rises with each day that passes and her focus clearly solid. It is said that she would not mind having company while training.
Not many days ago it is said that she challanged general Grag to a duel which was gladly taken up… the dwarven wizard known as Tolin was also included in the match that apparently took place in the Halls of the Legion building. The outcome of the battles is only known to those who participated.... but it would be safe to assume that Grag was victorious over Olivia._

The remains of the dwarven caracvan was scattered across the windy plains by the time the folk of Jiyyd cam across it. The orcs had been organized. Smaller ones had drawn the huge war machine that guarded it on a merry chase across the central plains while the mages and archers took out the main wagons.
Much was gone with a few chests and boots to mark where the final satnd had been made. Jerr had tried not to think about what had happened to the bodies. Grag, Kara, Olivia and others made short work of the expanded orc force who wer ehigh on their recent victory. Many of the orc heads wound up stacked on the boots as a memorial to the dwarves who had fallen as well a a macabre sight of heads and boots with no bodies. The War machine was still fighting orcs in the plains but when it turned its attention to the adventurers they soon, with movement, confused it enough for its overtaxed systems to explode, destroying it completely.
Jerr walked back from the battle puzzling over a scroll he had found on one of the mages that had done the most damage to the group. It was written in dwarven runes and seemed to be directions and or a map. But there was soemthign about it that made the skald NOT want to hand it over to the legion for translation by their own dwarves. As Jerr put it. "Sometimes dwarves are oath bound to hide or obscure information that might contain crafting secrets. I'd like to know where this caravan was coming from and going to. I will provide a copy of the text to the legion in a few days but I am taking the scroll north to work on it myself at the college."
Grag agreed that he trusted Jerr to be good to his word and the skald soon turned North to Peltarch and the library at the college. It was days before he was seen again near the Sisterhood or the fire in Jiyyd.

Anyone passing the Sisterhood ranch will notice that a tall, broadshouldered man in grey and yellow armor and armed with a halberd holds his ground on the road before the fence. He has few words and quickly examines and ignores all who approach, his gaze fixed on the horizon.
-
A young man with red hair, wearing a yellow robe, is seen about town. Apparently he's recovering from stumbling on the advance of a recent Hobgoblin Attack. He often orders badger stew at the inn around 5pm

*KULL can be seen walking around jyiid and its surounding areas, with a small paper. The paper seams to be some sort of "bounty hunter" Message. To all that cross his path, KULL shows the mesage with the description of his prey and asks: haf yee seen tis farkaa? him name is Ugluk Rumgut. yuu see him, yuu talk to me! got dat ladd?
KULL (Half Orc Barbarian, Training Officer and Major in the Legion)
“To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!”

The General was seen escorted by some union members entering the crafters guild in his armour with at least 600 pounds of iron and silver ores after coming back out minutes later he was seen muttering about some rule and marchin off to look for dwin*
-
Rumour of defenders visiting from Peltarch. A known Defender Officer Officer Danerk, with two of his troop. Elsa a broad shouldered axewoman of considerable skill and a dwarven private, whose name wasn't asked came to the Jiyyd road to pay their respects to the spot where Defender Dentin Strauss fell.
-
Small rumors start of the woman who caused lots of problems with the druids, is now using the training grounds of the Legion building. She is quickly recognized as Olivia, member of the Crafter's Union and a sister of the Sisterhood of the Crimson Glove. Her visits to the training grounds are daily and last a few hours despite of the weather being good or bad. What is most noticeable is her skill with her greatsword… she wields it with great ease and speed! After watching her for a while, people say that her determination and focus is admirable.
-
A thin elf has been seen wandereing around Jiyyd. He looks at everything in awe, and will spend hours looking at certain buildings, the sky or even the lake, as if he had not seen them before. Whenever he isn't doing this, he is reading torn pieces of paper or books in very bad condition.
-
Drelan is quick to tell anyone that indicates they've fought the undead armies that usually include some blue skinned ogres, that undead were seen downing and carrying away giants, and that he thinks that undead giants may soon be spotted in their ranks as well.
-
Many would notice that construction upon the Sisterhood has started back again. Rather than expanding their facilities due to the ever growing population within the house, it seems they are reconstructing a portion of the front of the estate after some orc decided to attempt to burn the house down.
-
The Natural Union are digging again, great mining operations with Umberhulks and powderkegs. One of their mining camps was sited north of the Long Road for a while before moving on.
Seems they're using some sort of scrying to guide them to their prize.

- The Lord Protector walks into town with a small detactment of his troops and heads to the council offices… smiling*
-
A grumpy looking dwarf who was eating roasted potatos sits up straight and speaks to be heard
Ah' have ask't that quesh'un tree hugger. An da reply Ah gets is, 'sum people just too powerful an cannea be stop't so we jus' let em walk aboot town cus we cannea do nuthin aboot et.'
An dat come strait' from an officer who defend dis town.
Folk start wonderin' aboot justice an law when justic an law begin ta pick an chose when it decide ta pick an chose whut evil to smite an whut evil ta welcome aboot town wit' open arms.
But den again, folk see who sides wit' who an et ain' a mystery where they real loyalties be.. an et ain the fairness of law.
snorts and goes back to eating potatoes

Oreth turns to Zyphlin, shrugs, and comments
The town needs questions like those. They keep everyone honest. When people stop questioning at all, things can get seriously out of hand.
At the same time, questioning the air is not particularly effective. People with issues should address people responsible for thos issues, rather than rumbling about ineffectively.
And asking the same question over and over once it's already been answered is foolishness.
-
Zyphlin laughs hearing the tavern talk of a town founded and inhabited originally mostly be paladins, talking down about evil people getting beaten down
-
Whispers around the tavern talk about the inconsistent nature of of the laws of Jiyyd and how people are beginning to question the flip-flop in deciding who has broken the law and who is above it.
Whispers about how a woman can be brutally beaten while being taken into custody, yet the perpetrator of the offense walks about freely in town as well as to the full pardon of murder by the self proclaimed necromancer who witnesses have seen slaughtering the animals with ice and freesing cold, yet the council sees fit to turn a blind eye to her wickedness.
People are talking in hushed tones about the obvious favoritism to some and the more perception of discrimination towards others. One dwarf is heard asking how can it be that the town retains any credibility at all in the light of recent events.
-
Word quickly gets around that the Council is looking to speak to Rando in connection to the death of Rolan while in Jiyyd jurisdiction. He is asked to turn himself in for questioning peacefully to the council.
-
Some rumors of a werecat being sighted outside Jiyyd filter around, though a few are quick to say that it must have been some crazy mage considering the creature was seen talking to a woman.
The Watchmen do not appear to be afraid of the beast when asked about it. Watchman Basha comments, "If da cat tries to come in, it will feel our blades, mage or nots. Jiyyd be safe wid us."

_When General Grag goes to check upon the house, he can find no trace of supposed ghosts.
Still, it would seem the house has clearly become inhabited once again, as in the following days, it appears to gain a more clean facade once again. The dust that was a blanket for years is removed, the windows cleaned, and regularly a fire burns. General rumor spreads that, under whatever circumstances, the owner has returned.
Those checking upon times at the Helmite temple, will find a recent addition to the Temple's roster:
"Shane Andryl - Reporting for duty."_
