Jiyyd Rumors

  • Through the early hours of the evening in Jiyyd, a curiousity can be seen. The woman known as Kara was seen almost dancing down the road in jiyyd with a bright grin on her face, when asked, she doesn't respond, save for a smile. There is only speculation in what has brought a long absent smile to the paladin's face

  • _The next evening, lights are again seen inside the old abandoned home, and a small whiff of smoke passes from the chimney. The fireplace shows lit, and the shape of a figure can be seen in a chair close to it, the back faced to the window, apparently asleep.

Looking through the window, one thing catches the eye… an old armorstand, up to now empty for as long as anyone can recall the door to this house having been closed, now holds an old suit of armor, with Helm's symbol proudly engraved on the chest.

Upon examining the door leading into this house, several marks show signs of it having been opened, and a mudded bootprint is left upon the doorway, leading in, though nothing can reveal any sign of forced entry.

An old man, having been laughed away at for either being senile or drunk, spoke of ghosts wandering amongst the living...._

  • While not working on expanding the dwarven temple, the Thorbrands and Notibly Hamish is seen around the regal whore, griping and complaining about the lack of space. Yells of ' SHUT DE FARK UP! YE' SOUR'N MEH ALE!' and 'Dem takin up drink'n space!' can be heard through most of the evening. Some hours later, the boyish loud singing begins for yet another night in a row, lasting into the early hours of the evening.

  • Many would have noticed that there seems to be a new influx of helmites in and around Jiyyd. Those that visit the temple can clearly see that there is a massive construction effort underway and many new faces running around the temple. It seems that the temple is getting a face lift.

Most venturing into the Regal Whore will also notice that it too has began construction on some renovations. Though most are closed to the public there seems to be a large structure being built right in the center of the common room.

Lens is seen walking around the town quite pleased with all the new changes taking place and commenting over and over on how proud he is.

  • _Rumors abound of a strange occuring in the dead of night in the Jiyyd area. One farmer solemnly swears to have seen faint lights in the old empty house standing next to Kert's store. To his tales, as he passed the fireplace glowed dimly, and looking through the window he could see a faint shape sitting in a chair next to it.

However, investigations the next day show no signs of any intrusions. The house remains as empty and cold as it has been for years, since it's owners vanished, with the dust of time still covering everything. The door remains locked…

The farmer decides to speak of it no more, especially after considering the ale that Drudo had poured him just before, and his friends make off with the story as a drunkard's tall tale._

  • The Halfling Defence League

Just'ene, Nathander, and a small group of adventurers were seen leaving the town of jiyyd in the direction of the the orcish fortress. Hours later they were seen running back into the town with an army of very angry looking orcs chasing after them, with a lifeless body of nathander in the arms of one of them. After fighting off the orcs, they were seen entering the healing house and Nathander was seen coming back out excitedly. Rumours have it that the group had invaded the fortress with just the few number and slaughtering and desecrating whatever is within hence incurring the violent retaliation.

  • In the midst of a terrible storm, a shadowy figure was spotted leaving the Inn with something clutched in its arms. The creature disappeared into the night, the heavy rain obscuring any possible traces of its passage. The following investigations revealed a child to be missing from its room, where a ghost also appeared. The babe's mother, a hin who had apparently spent the evening getting very drunk, tossed wild accusations of kidnapping at the adventurers before passing out in her room.

  • Outside the sisterhood home, the bent form of an almost bald woman can be seen, often holding an apple in her hands. There also is a growing pile of rotting apples, that only a few bites have been taken off.

  • A young elven lass of red hair and green eyes was seen sitting around the jiyyd cook fires discussing how grass grows with some people… a good time was had by all, maybe.

  • Following the entrance of a man yelling about Frogs in the plains, a mixed band of Legion officers, Druids and a couple of recognizable priests from Peltarch visiting the town ventured forth out the south gate, returning briefly with a body, rumoured to be that of Cike, before venturing forth a couple more times, each time returning looking weary, and carrying more bodies on one occasion.

As the group collapsed into the chairs surrounding the fire however, after their final return, rest was not to be as hordes of foul undead, spewing noxious vapours about them sprang forth from the ground, laying waste, ending with a strange conversation with a little girl, which most close witnessess to it where to be found sucking their thumbs in recollection of her afterwards.

  • Jerr was seen wandering through the plains and into town wearing nothing save a breachcloth. He seemed totally at ease, in spite of the weather and not a bit self conscious. Blood ran from his knuckles and several arrow wounds but he did not seem at all concerned.

A small group of locals earlier were trying to decide if his talk of having 'kissed the dragon' was some sort of code, an insult to one of the sisters, or baiting his own wife. The consensus was teasing Amith would pretty much have the same effect as really trying TO kiss a dragon.

Questions about the skalds sanity are now floating about.

  • A new face has been seen in Jiyyd recently. She is woman of indeterminate age, with the hint of crows feet around the eyes, olive skin, and an over-abundance of dark curly hair that fights being held up and out of the way.

She claims to be a worshipper and priestess of Chauntea, and can be seen helping the farmers with their daily work and blessing the crops. She appears to dress simply, with loose fitting linens, and has little of value upon her person.

Those that have seen her defend the town say they she eschews the use of weapons save for a sling, resorting to crude but effective unarmed strikes with hands, elbows, feet and knees.

There is some debate regarding her full name. Most just call her “Ly”

  • _A Jiyyd man reports a terrible invasion of his home last week….with a shadowy darkness invading his bedroom, and some terrible fiendish thing kidnapping his wife of 30 years.

Fortunately, an intrepid band of Legion and brave adventurers came to his aid, and, claims the citizen, "traveled to hell an' back" to retrieve his lost beloved.

Any reports of shadows, vapors, fiends or other suspicious more or less dark things popping up in bedrooms should be reported to General Grag, at the Legion Hall, for further investigation._

  • The town is agog with talk of a huge orc attack involving a great number of their heavy fighters, after an armed and heavily armored orc destroyer captain tried to push past the adventurers guarding the gates because he "maybe wanted to buy rations".

Rumor has it the verbose orc attacked and stole Raryldor's sword, after the cleric had mercifully told the orc to go away, and that Raryldor chased the nasty brute back into the windy plains, where a truly epic battle ensued, as a sordid ambush awaited, with an entire army of destroyers and crushers lying cleverly in a trap.

Everyone notes the orcs involved are apparently dead, the adventurers are alive, and Raryldor has retrieved his blade.

  • Jocasta saunters up to Watchman Masdar, setting her hat at a jaunty angle as she approaches. "Hey Masdar, got some news about that lost cousin of yours. We snooped around in the Norwick crypts after him, and err….you were right I'm afraid. Nothing but bones left of the poor man, and no treasure to be found either. His possessions are in the hands of that May girl, if you have any interest of getting them back." She looks him up and down discreetly before adding: "Mmm…look me up after your shift is done if you need....consolation eh?" She saunters off again, a small smile curling her rosebud lips.

((a belated thank you to DM Joselito for a fun little lowbie quest, and a crash course in the exciting world of traps 😉 ))

  • The Halfling Defence League

Arikess is seen recently in jiyyd with a new pet wolf he names "La'nae".

  • Ayup, old Eddie kin git the job doine in jig time when he puts his head to it.

The farmer took another swig of home brew and continued to work the leathers before him while a couple of his friends stood by and watched. The white of the winter wolf pelt reflected the candle light sullenly but it did brighten the basement a bit.

Some o' dem adventurers, mind ya. They so full o themselves its a wonder they don't blow up. 'I will escort you for 1000 gold pieces'. Damn fool of a mage thinks he is all that and more.

Ya don't know the half of it, Listy, Iffen that mage is the one I think he is he wound up bein half carried back inta town. Somethin out there got a good sized bite outa him. If he had been pertectin ya then you might o been the appetizer.

Aye, aye. The two who took me may have had the patience of butterflies but they seemd right enough. They walked me through and Eduardo covered that cow in no time. Old lady B payed well enough for it. I always wonder where she comes by her gold but I ain't about to ask. We comes back out and the pair of them is gone! Some knight called Cyrus er somethin like that and a caster fella who made me invisible. Taint right, Eddie didn't come when called when it is just a voice.

So how much ya make, Listy?

Arg, the pair o them took most of the fee but old Lady B will give me a lamb in the speing and I still got ta keep 50 gold fer meself. Enough ta fix the roof and git some food laid down for the winter.

spits thousand gold . . . I tells ya, these mages think the whole world is rich as kings. The fool of it is tho. Sometin like that.

  • Drelan is often seen in Jiyyd lying in the grass and starring off into the sky either in complete silence or muttering something in a rhythmic fashion that doesn't seem to make sense at all. In general something seems to have shaken him greatly of late.

  • Vrue is seen and encountered wandering around seeking news from whomever is willing to give it. He has been seen in Jiyyd talking to both druids and other folk. If encountered he asks mostly general questions but does not delve into private matters.
