Jiyyd Rumors

  • ((missinformed. delete post))

  • Word about town is the Velahrae is planning more raids in the days to come. The goblin activity to the south has concerned them greatly, and they gather in a few days to continute their scouting. There is also a whispered rumour of buried treasure, although none can say where that started. // 11am EST on Thursday, and 3pm EST on Saturday. Bring your elfies for RP!//

  • Hostilities continue between Orc and Duergar. Reports of massed Destroyers leaving the fortress to reinforce some patrols ambushed in Mintas Rhelgor come in following a 'quiet bit of exploring' by Nico Black and some members of the Crystal Collective.

  • A tall elf in green robes has been issuing challenges of magical combat to spellcasters of moderate ability (~level 5) in Jiyyd. He identifies himself as "Khyrill of Halruaa."

The challenges so far have been nonlethal and friendly, without any sort of betting.

(send me a tell or a pm if you want to duel 🙂

  • Elor and Nyda only narrowly escaped alive when they were attacked by a pack of werewolves on the East Road and fled towards Jiyyd. There, Hanen and Just'ene managed to help in killing the remainder of the werewolves.

  • _Apparantly the warband raided the goblins to the south a week or so ago. They were a scouting party, and were ambushed by some of the goblin's elite forces. After fighting their way through that successfully, they came across a bugbear raiding party that was heading north towards Norwick. An elven paladin is rumored to have fallen in the fight, but after the bugbears were destroyed she was brought back by a powerful cleric.

Word is now circulating that the leader of the warband, Tanin, is seeking word from anyone who knows about the drow in Narfell._

  • Vroka, with plenty on her mind these days, still welcomes all the fenberries, anyone brings her. With all that's been going on, she might slightly cross if pressed about her progess witht he Dreamstone Plague. For the truly curious though who wish to know more, she opens her notes on the plauge, which has its own seperate book now and lets them read all about it, telling them to simply put the bok back whent hey're done.

ANy whor ead will find all about how Restoration or Greater plus fenberries from the Hidden pass near the old gypsy camp are the only known cure for later stages. Early stages are known to be treatable with simple spellslike Remove Disease. Onc past a critical point htough and the previously stated cure is necessary. Spells taht remove fear do render the nightmares manifested by the stricken into more harmless dream manifestations. After talking to a druid froma remote mountain village recently, sent to her by Peltarch's High Priestes of Tyr, Dasiy, she has learned that there are now two strains of the plauge. The new second strain acts as the orginal stainwith Remove Fear cast upon the dreamer. Only, the new train proves, to hav no returning fear effects. It instead seems to spread instead on the polen from trees possibly manifested in the same way as the nightmarish creatures of the original strain

Jolil explained how this group was sent by High Priestesss Daisy to lokin on his village after it was found by an initail party whom were able to rescuea single woman from the village. The first party encountered the orignal strain..and that is what the Jolil and the woman remember before the entire village fell to the plague. Something the first party did removed the fear from the entire village and Diasy and Vroka are prettys ure inadvernantly created thenew mutation. They only hope that the polen did not spread it somewhere before the moutnain village was saved and cured of the plauge.

The new strain, seems to be the exact opposite in every way. It produces the most pleasant dreams and a certain state of euphoria taht makes it diffcult for those awake in the area to leave. And that just means themore chances to eventually bceome infected and fall into a stoned sleep.

Vroka is glad Clover is off on her own at least. She was a handful.

  • Ginger rolls her eyes at the departing form of Devath and mutters something sarcastic in hinnish. Clutching a bagful of sweet, precious fenberries, she sets off for Vroka's.

  • ::moves all the remaing Union equipment and it's remains to the Legion hall and then starts clearing the site::

  • Devath watches the near-destroyed crafter's hall with a slight grin.
Told you this would happen. Should have let me talk to them when they came to talk.

He then wanders off, ignoring any of the obvious comments that come.

  • Sil speaks up:
"The duergar left a note on the anvil. It read something akin to 'this was payback expletives' "

  • Legion

was with dwin in the goblin hold during the attacks
walks through the gate Dwin … sumun said yer screemun ware wus I? I was wit you helpin ye out ya git taps his shoulder and grabs a piece of burnt useless wood and starts taking it out of the town Cumon grumpy less git this place fixed back up for ye... Lyte go git the privates an trainees thar new job is ta git this buildin back ta nurmal have them gatha the needed supplies.. Dwin dunt wurry we will git those farks suun enough. walks off with the rubble to the orc plains "might as weel give the orcs a gift ey? smirks

  • Dwin sighs heavily and manages a smile

Thanks, lass. Thanks fer slowin me down here. I am farkin pissed at meself fer not bein here to cleave them grey farkers meself.

Yer tale of the defense has made me feel much better…though the loss of life saddens me greatly.

You can count on the Union, as well as the Council of Moradin to assist in hunting down these farkers. I want their heads on stakes outside the gate.

  • Major Lyte, walking through town, sees the fuming Dwin, and can be seen intercepting him to relate to him the incident

_Hello Dwin, dont be too hard on the town guard…they all fell defending the south gate and the Hall...one guard's body was laying right in front of the door when we arrived.

I had been walking to Jiyyd on the road from the Nars, and a group was formed there outside the east gate, and had just finished battling a single duergar, who no doubt was acting as a decoy to keep the adventurers and defenders looking towards that direction.

As we waited for more duergar to attack, smoke could be seen from the town, and we rushed in...but the Crafting Hall was fully engulfed with flames on all sides, the guards dead, and a big hole punched into it when a score or so of folks arrived.

I spent the next several hours running from lake to Hall trying to get the flames out, and we barely were able to save the building. It took our combined efforts to put out the blaze. I assume the duergar's intent was to rob the place, and burn it to the ground.

I'm sorry that things were stolen, and wish I had been there when the duergar assaulted the south gate. I hope there wasnt any loss of life within the Hall.

If you wish to form a company to extract some revenge upon the evil grays, I am sure General Grag will happily contribute some aid to the cause."_

she smiles grimly, and offers to buy Dwin a lot of ales

  • _In surveying the hall's damage, Dwin also makes note that a sizable amount of resources were stolen from the Union's storage.

Dwin is then seen marching off towards Len's office with visible steam shooting from his ears._

"…where were the farkin guards? where was the farkin Legion? i want a meetin' with the General and Lens NOW!"

  • The Crafting Hall was blown wide open in the rear and was covered in flames that needed to be put out. Fingers quickly point to duergar as the suspects behind the wreckage.

  • Nyda hunts most evenings for her littlest sister and takes her to the Inn to sleep. Knowing full well what is troubling her, and how to deal with it, she spends the days looking for Tiggles too in order to explain, but is often frustrated by the little hins vanishing act.

  • the little hin druid, Tiggles, can be found much more stand offish than usual. Sitting by herself with her badger often, and scooting away whenever someone tries to come talk with her. She seems sad, and the dark circles under her eyes have returned, obvious that she's been having nightmares again.

Curiously enough, she rarely sleeps in the inn. Usually discovered sleeping under bushes and curled up against her badger. The only time she gets a decent sleep in a bed being when Nyda finds her, picks up her and the badger and carries them in.

what disturbs the little hin she doesn't speak of, usually running off to hide before anyone can talk to her long enough.

  • After one of the more recent rounds of attacks on Jiyyd's fields, Oreth was seen preparing to re-consecrate the fields, to speed their growth as he does after nearly every assault, when he was confronted, mid-preparation, and told that his large, canine companion was not to be allowed in town. He shrugged, and walked back out of town, his work unfinished.

  • Scutum advises her kinfolk of the valley, and any other Jiyyd townsfolk that will listen, not to eat any tainted meat brought in by the cultists and their friends. She also respectfully asks the Elder Atel and the Silver Valley Council to send a delegation of nature worshippers and priests to Vroka to see if they may be of any help with the issues she is dealing with.
